EnderbyFox Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 4 years left on his contract, Galatasary captain. He's not gonna be cheap. Cracking player though, g'warn Claudio
Babylon Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 This name just popped up again..... http://www.turkish-football.com/leicester-city-set-their-sights-on-galatasaray-captain/? I saw something this morning on twitter from a Turkish account, to paraphrase the translation I saw said something along the lines of "we wanted someone in style of cambiasso, a winner a leader. Could interest in Inan be reignited as he matches the criteria". I took it as more of a speculative link rather than actual information. Edit: I should add his was the first name I thought of the other day when Ranieri said about finding a new leader, due to the previous links.
lgfualol Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 "Cambiasso scored one goal and provided five assists in 33 appearances for Leicester last season" They couldn't even get that right. Would take Inan now, but that's not saying much because I'd take absolutely anyone better than what we have.

Yeah, the link is certainly weak and tenuous - and something to do with talksport - probably just a pundit or a phone in listener stating we'd like someone of that ilk! The translation from the original article link doesn't make it any clearer than that tbh.
Gerard Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 We've no chance of getting him unless they want to sell. Galatasaray are one of the top 20 richest clubs in the world. Looks like a complete non story to me.
Stevosevic Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 Crap sources for everything at the moment unfortunately.

Yeah seems more speculative based on Cambiasso's departure more than anything. Doesn't translate well either.. makes more sense if you read it backwards Selcuk Inan Leicester City hook ! Left after Esteban Cambiasso for the same experience in that area and looking for a player with the same abilities Leicester's Galatasaray's captain was allegedly asked to Selcuk .
Ed25 Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 Crap sources for everything at the moment unfortunately. Source being a national Turkish newspaper Could you let us know which are the more reliableTurkish newspapers please?
Guest Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 Source being a national Turkish newspaper Could you let us know which are the more reliableTurkish newspapers please? So a national paper can't be unreliable? Someone better tell the English press.
Lesteban Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 So a national paper can't be unreliable? Someone better tell the English press. They state that Cambiasso made 33 appearances for us and scored one goal in that article... I hope their sources are more reliable than their stats man.
Ed25 Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 So a national paper can't be unreliable? Someone better tell the English press. No I mean people would know that say the Telegraph is more reliable that The Sun. So this guy obviously knows about the Turkish press and media, so asking for his is more reliable, that is all
J.Lisemore Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 He's not going to come to us while he's a regular and playing Champions League football with Galatasaray is he.. Even if he did become available, I should imagine higher-placed clubs will be interested.
Babylon Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 No I mean people would know that say the Telegraph is more reliable that The Sun. So this guy obviously knows about the Turkish press and media, so asking for his is more reliable, that is all The paper sources talk sport and doesn't do anything other than offer a link between Inan and the criteria we're after to replace Cambiasso.... So I'm guessing it's not Henry Winter type reporting.
ealingfox Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 Im hoping all these tenuous links are because we are conducting our actual business under lock and key.
Nick Posted 23 July 2015 Author Posted 23 July 2015 Lazy journalism again! Whilst on the subject of lazy journalism... http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/x/story-27471234-detail/story.html
Tommy G Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 Spoke to my Galatasy supporting colleague who said this; that's not gonna happen ◄ he's our maestro. 12:40:37 PM ◄ plus, I wound not really recommend a Turkish player. Arda Turan is an exception but most Turkish players are quite emotional. They are homesick and can not perform well outside of Turkey. Selcuk is fabulous but I don't think he can play half as good in UK. 12:42:22 PM ◄ Tugay was also an exception 12:42:45 PM
