What's Up With People?

I cannot understand the sudden change in poster's views!

At the end of last season, most people were saying we didn't need much in the way of new players. Now, since the Pearson sacking, and missing out on Cambiasso for the coming season, panic appears to be creeping in, with a number of posters saying the squad is rubbish, and that we need a good few signings. Apart from  one decent player leaving, nothing on the playing side has changed, apart from two new signings.

Why this sudden commotion, especially as we all know there will be new signings?

It;'s the foxestalk thing to do change your mind and moan as often as possible.

Our squad is like a game of KerPlunk; you take one valuable member out of the equation and you are left with bigger holes. Two sticks have been taken out and the balls are dropping below rapidly unless we replace the sticks with new and strong ones.

..and only one of which has proven they might be able to step up.

Well Matty James as well, but when is he supposed to be back? Thought I read September somewhere but that was a while ago and the negativity with which it's currently spoken would suggest later

He's got no hope of making it back for September - I'd say Christmas would be an ambitious but realistic target but in reality we'll probably be well into the second half of the season before he's fully fit. Jay Rodriguez missed pretty much all of last season after being injured in May 2014 and I don't think his injury was too different to James'.

King Hammond Drinkwater

Every off season people say we should go out and buy 6 or 7 new players. Its nothing new.

I'm not even sure we need 2 midfielder. Just the one. A like for like replacement of Cambiasso. King and Hammond are perfectly solid. Drinkwater if he steps up a notch will also be good. James will be back in September One top quality CM is needed to ensure we don't get overrun like the early part of last season.

Fuchs, Huth, Okazaki and a top quality CM and I think our squad is good enough for mid table.

I'd rather we be patient with our signings and only buy for places we need improvement and at the right price.

Much prefer our approach than say Watford who look like they're gonna be signing more than 10 players.

Times ticking and we just lost our only creative midfielder whom made us tick usually. Add the fact we don't know what formation we'll be playing and it isn't surprising everyone is getting worried.

I know Ranieri will bring in the players but it is so quiet.

Regardless of managerial changes and Cambiasso not coming back this is where we are at.

Two weeks before the start of the season and we're lacking a convincing central midfield partnership. When we spend, and I really hope that's when not if, they are going to have to slot in and gel exceedingly quickly. This is the engine room of the team.

Other than that, as Wes is out of the picture for a few weeks, if we go three at the back Liam Moore is going to have to step up. Anyone who's seen him play recently knows his confidence is shot. I believe he's a far better player than what we've seen of late but i'm not sure the time is right for him.

We have some obvious weak points which will be exposed. I'm more concerned than pessimistic.

Tbf people have been a bit different of late.

Speaking personally, I thought with NP gone that things would become more harmonious on here, but instead I've found myself getting angrier and angrier at the same people who held strong anti-NP views, this time for the way they seem deadly intent on starting a new war over the manager where they're the 'Ranierites' if you will and we're not allowed to say anything at all without them jumping down people's throats to make groundless accusations of wanting to see the club fail, even when the person in question has said nothing to indicate ill will towards CR.  I get nauseous reading some of the guff they come out with and as a result I've made a few posts over the last couple of weeks that I would normally be far too sedate to bother with.

Apologies if you've been one of the ones to bear the brunt of my anger, but it probably means you could stand to be a bit less of a wazzock and stop to think about what your track record on here is before you play the "I'm a reasonable man willing to give the manager a chance" card when we've all seen you playing up as the antithesis of that during these past seasons.

So please anti-Pearsonistas:  Stop trying against all evidence to carve out a niche for yourselves as the minority who back the manager and we can all get along again.  Be nice instead of drawing new pointless battle-lines.

Lets be fair, there are people on here who have blamed CR for the fact that EC hasn't signed, he's been accused of being another Sven and it's been said he only got the job because nobody else wanted it. Some of the pro-Pearson brigade have become the mirror image of the Pearson haters.

Every point we drop next season will be blamed on Ranieri and by implication the owners. It's going to be a miserable season on this forum this year.

This is the worse pre season I have witnessed, we lost a great manager and a world class midfielder and the new season coming up fast, if we replace EC and get another quality midfielder in I will be happy
