Nick Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 So who spelt the name wrong? You or the other thread? Whose got Webbo round? In some articles he's Mbodji and others he's Mbodj - I'm going for the 'i' being present and the wiki page title being wrong! Not sure how spelling becomes a hormonal judgement but I'm prepared to take your word for it.
Stevosevic Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 Can't see us signing another defender. Only recent link i see on twitter is Indy
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 Looks like we can expect a bid for some MEPs questions soon. http://berlaymonster.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/the-8-million-euro-bill-of-replying-to.html
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 And getting back to normal after a Spanish tornado in 2009. http://www.surinenglish.com/20090204/news/costasol-malaga/getting-back-normal-after-200902041028.html
lgfualol Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 If true RanRan must really think our defence is shit
Jimbo Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 In all seriousness, we're getting a lot of African players. No saying we will sign everyone who gets a tedious link but imagine of we sign this guy and the other Ghanaian lad we've been linked too. Plus mahrez in the side, belouane who declared his allegiance to Tunisia, although seems to refuse a call up, Schlupp and Kante who can qualify for Mali we could be seriously fooked up when it comes to the African cup of nations!
BlueBoy1 Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Good point on the African cup of nations. This lad has had interest from villa and Newcastle prior to us and I think a couple more teams as well. Looks like we've made the first move.

Or not... for one, it all depends on whether they actually get call-ups, then the players themselves will have to want to participate and the club also has to confirm the temporary departure. And some of their nations might not even qualify, so they're gone for a maximum of five more games between now and September 2016. Five games in thirteen months - hardly a rough schedule, is it?
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Without sounding like I am making a sweeping generalisation I am not convinced by African defenders in the Premier League, and in the top leagues as a whole. Usually they are strong and fast but technically lacking and make mistakes. Even the most decorated African Centre back in Kolo Toure is not the most reliable. I have not seen anything of this chap, but I do have reservations. I agree. Plus haven't we got enough big geezers at the back ffs

The point is not the amount of games, but when that tournament is on - they all clear off en mass for 3 to 4 weeks. That can be difficult to cope with if you got first teamers missing.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 5 August 2015 Posted 5 August 2015 Would personally much rather Amartey than this guy.
Nick Posted 5 August 2015 Posted 5 August 2015 Would personally much rather Amartey than this guy. I don't think the two deals or mutually exclusive they can both play RB and RCB and Mbodji can also play DM - £5.6 million bid gone in according to 'vital football' - whoever she is.
filbertstreet Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 ah well got some good songs out of it, best of luck lad
