Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Vardy strikes me as someone who would call people "chap", which sounds almost identical to "jap". Case dismissed
smudger63 Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 This is the biggest load of crap, written to try and sensationalise something thats not even newsworthy. It really is a bit rich for the sun to run a story like this given their track record of calling the germans krauts, and constantly going on about the war, whenever england play a big game with germany! As for the phrase Jap, i for one never realised it was seen as racist, and have used that word myself in the past, and never in a demeaning way. I just thought it was like calling an australian an aussie. Lets be right, if vardy did say Jap, i really dont believe he would have said it thinking it was a racist remark. The whole story is absolutely ridiculous, and not worth the paper its been written on, and shows the depths that the sun will plumb down too in order to sensationalise a non story, in order to try and stir shit!
smudger63 Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Jap is just short for Japanese no more offensive than calling our owners Thai'sExactly!!!
Claridge Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Using the word "Paki" is a horrible racist term. But would you consider using the term "Pole" racist? or brit, aussie etc...
Fox 4 Life Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Not condoning this but people are overreacting here. Terry and Suarez were guilty of (much worse) racism and neither were sacked by their clubs. The 3 stooges sacking wasn't just about the racist slur it was the fact it was in Thailand and embarrassing for the owners plus the players were dispensable. We are not going to sack our best striker!
Guest Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Seems like a non story. Just seems like they've waited til him and the club have had a good moment to try and sour it. *****.
Claridge Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Is being called a Brit racist? Too some people who see racism in everthing. If a person of power undermines someone because of their race its serious,if a dopey footballer says Jap is it really that serious?
Danizen Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 A picture is worth a thousand words: lol I wouldn't expect anything less from that rag.
Guest ttfn Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 He should just say that he said "did you think I just said "yo Jap walk on""? Apparently that's a legitimate way of getting off
jimmeh Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Wouldn't surprise me If nugents Mrs had anything to do with this
jimmeh Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Tbh has anyone watched the video on the website? What im worried about more than anything is how pumped up vardy is. To me it looks like he lost a lot of money. Would be a shame for him to end up a gambling addict
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 I find Brit offensive, only because I am English and not British
fatmando Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 'Racist' is a strong word. If he said it it was just 'not polictically correct' to do so due to possible negative connotation. There's been a lot worse than that in the PL and players stil play.
jimmeh Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Would be gutted if vardy was sold, but the owners know how important he is to us... So it wouldn't happen. A bid of £18 million and he can go though. Kramaric and okazaki would be fine
Max Power Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 A picture is worth a thousand words: Superb. Well done. Still think it's unacceptable personally, not a term I would use.
dannyjpage Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 the sun had to add subtitles as the audio was not clear the sun are influencing the evidence. Jap, chap? The video does not even show the other person and their ethnicity. Investigation over.
chapero82 Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Just seen the video, Vardy was being aggressive but I don't think he was being racist about it, more trying to get his attention, sounded more like Jack to me
Fez of Mahrez Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Maybe the banner for the next tifo should read: "We're doing really well, let's stop trying to f**k it up off the pitch eh?"
jimmeh Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 If this was Konchesky (if he wasnt on loan) everyone would be saying what a w*nker. Sack him now. True
FireFox Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Clearly heard "Jap" the second time. I think the term is racist. But Vardy wasn't really using it as an insult or to be racist, clearly using it to try to get the person's attention. And yes, Vardy was pissed off and a bit "aggressive", but again, nothing really racist.
deep blue Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Would be gutted if vardy was sold, but the owners know how important he is to us... So it wouldn't happen. A bid of £18 million and he can go though. Kramaric and okazaki would be fine You undervalue his worth to us. If I were the chairman, though, I'd take steps to educate the players away from extreme gambling. It's a cancer that has, and can, wreck so many sportsman's lives.
FireFox Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 If this was Konchesky (if he wasnt on loan) everyone would be saying what a willy puller. Sack him now. True As much as I wasn't a fan of his last season, I wouldn't.
