Kinowe Soorie Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Quality player, great delivery and scored a few. But does he have enough to gain a cap?
Guest Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Definitely. His value is increasing at such a rapid rate. Nice that he's finally getting some love from the masses.
FrankieADZ Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 yes will he though....I doubt it as he doesn't play for a top 6 team, and we know, even if you are not playing but are in the first team & they are at a top 6 team you still get picked over English players doing well in the lower end of the prem(95% of the time anyway)

For the time being anyway
Jam Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Certainly think he's capable. However wingers for England is one place I don't think they struggle for personnel. Unlike strikers. So he may get overlooked. I hope not though. He's quality.
Lestoh Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 If he played for anyone else, most of you would be saying no. He's a good player, but not better than what we already have.
hateforestandhatederby Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Maybe, but would be hard to break in the team ahead of sterling, walcott etc
foxfanazer Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Think he's probably the best crosser of the ball in the prem. He's got no chance of an England call up though Was slightly underwhelmed when we signed him but he's been superb and has made himself undroppable
Jakemoore Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 The only problem with Albrighton getting in to the England Squad is that we already have an abundance of talent in that position. See Sterling, Walcott, Ox, Townsend, even Welbeck can play out wide.
les-tah Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 He was Villas boy wonder years ago and not forgetting hes only 25. Still no where near peaked, the lad needed a fresh started and hes got it here. p.s ... No idea what Nigel was thinking about in the first 30 odd games for not hardly playing him.

I read somewhere (probably on here) that Pearson didn't play him due to fitness. I personally think it paid off as he is a great player and works hard to stay that way. Hopefully the tinkerman will keep the ruthlessness that Pearson had to keep the team working hard for each other and themselves.
AyewJoking Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 If he continues to play well he might get a "pat on the back" call up where he plays 15 minutes of a meaningless friendly and is forgotten about 15 minutes later.
AKCJ Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Not unless a similar situation to Vardy's occurs. I think there are a few good right wingers who get in ahead of him. Walcott, Ox and Sterling just off the top of my head.

atomicfox Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Don't see why not, after all it's probably the weakest England squad since the Taylor era.
Ric Flair Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Out of interest how many assists has he got in the last 10 games for us? It must be 5+ and he's chipped in with 3 goals as well. Very impressed by the lad.
Tuna Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Good enough for England? Townsend, Oxlade Chamberlain, Milner, Lallana, Sterling, Walcott play in his position. Doubtful he'd get in ahead of these but who knows if he keeps being consistent. And why did Pearson refuse to pick him?
Staffs Fox Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 The thing with Albrighton is he's old fashioned winger, get to the line and whip the ball in. These so called 'wingers' now Sterling, Ox etc all think they're better in the middle and as no10's. It's almost unfashionable for some reason to be 'stuck out wide' for modern footballers. Albrighton in the past 6 months has been the best winger in the PL but he'll never get picked for England unfortunately, I really hope he does though and he deserves it and he's from my hometown so it'd be awesome to have someone play from England from Tamworth!
shailen Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 On the right it seems Hodgson loves Townsend and Albrighton is so much better. He has to be close to the squad, but I'd prefer to personally play the Ox or Sterling there. However I'd have him in the squad to play a bit part role at least.
4everfox Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Yes he is good enough and if he carries on playing the way he has been it will be almost impossible to overlook him. Townsend plays for England quite regular and I personally believe Albrighton is better then him.
J.Lisemore Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Reminds me of a certain Steve Guppy, probably the best crosser of a ball in the Prem, but unlikely to get many caps for England. To think we got him for free at 24? Fantastic business.
JohnnyB Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 yes will he though....I doubt it as he doesn't play for a top 6 team, and we know, even if you are not playing but are in the first team & they are at a top 6 team you still get picked over English players doing well in the lower end of the prem(95% of the time anyway) Neither does / did Vardy
