Lincoln Henrique

That's why Twitter is struggling (and their users, too): Lincoln is indeed 36 years old.

Used to play for Schalke - I remember him being very much loved up there. But that was ten, eleven years ago! lol

So, highly unlikely we'll go for him - has he found his legs again?

EDIT: Unless liam's just gullible and can't spell the name right, that is.

Maybe the wrong Lincoln then

The right Lincoln has a much more boring name. I don't care if this guy is retired, can we sign him for one match and bring back Alan Young to do the commentary for it?

Interested or not, doesn't seem like we couldn't sign this guy for quite some time, he has made 9 appearances for Brazil's U17's (3 goals), that's all. From memory, Kramaric was below the required number of senior international caps (was 2 below the limit, I think) and we had to argue his case at a tribunal with the home office, we have no chance with this kid:

"During an update on the England Commission, The FA Chairman said the Home Office has agreed to a “fundamental reform” to the existing work permit regulations, to ensure only the most talented non-EU players meet new criteria.

The new requirements state that non-EEA (European Economic Area) players will have to meet a minimum percentage of international matches played for their country over the previous 24 month period, as determined by that country’s FIFA world ranking."

There's a precedent for signing Brazilian non international players and them getting work permits. The argument is that Brazil is a huge country with a massive football playing population and only a few can be internationals. Chelsea used this argument to sign Willian, I think it was.

But I'm not sure whether you can sign a teenager from Brazil that young. Don't both their own FA and now FIFA have rules to stop poaching so young?

There is that too, those are the rules Barcelona broke recently: "FIFA rules state that international transfers are only permitted for players over the age of 18 - unless the individual players meets one of three qualifying criteria.

According to the FIFA, 'Under-18s can move to a club in a different country if their parents move there for non-footballing reasons, if they are from another nation within the European Union or European Economic Area and aged between 16 and 18, or if they live within 100km of the club."
