Huth "could have killed Wilson"

Red gave them a telling off, therefore he acknowledged the incident and he can't be retrospectively banned

Not quite.

The referee could have said to them "Something has clearly gone on here but i've not seen it. I've got my eye on you both now and any more pissing about will result in cards".

Depends what he's put in his post match report (which should be made public by the way).

Huth seems to be making some very silly decisions this season. Wilson incident, barging Fletcher, and now this. All could have been avoided had a calm head been kept.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking this! We look like an accident waiting to happen in 442 with that personel in place. Praying we go back to 3-5-2 soon

Suppose we accidently  top then eh?

Didn't see a replay but pretty sure Huth's reaction is because Mitrovic booted him before the ball went forward and then got in his face. Eye for an eye and all that.

I don't think that's a defence! I assume tomorrow is the day when the FA would announce a retrospective charge if they are going to bring one. would be a three game ban too. perfect timing............

Benny v Costa (assuming he doesn't get sent off against Swansea )

(Newcastle loses possesion)

Mitrovich punched/forearmed/elbowed Huth in the arm/side.

(5 seconds later)

Chest bump.

Huth pushed Mitrovich in the throat.

Mitvovich flopped and grabbed his face.

Im pretty sure Huth was just showing the correct tightness to wear a collar and tie. I understand he has been very angry lately about people with loosely tied ties and i for one agree with him!

Clearly says with that personnel in place.  I stand by that statement. With De laet and Schlupp as full backs we would be shipping goals for fun

Thnk at the time he was looking over to Simpson and saying 'Danny!.. This is how you do it properly!! '..

From the TV replays, it appears as if Mitrovic forgot to turn off the lights at home prior to the match - hence the gesture of despair whilst tumbling down to the ground after the slight push by Huth.

Huth reminds me of Chuck Norris in many ways:

Robert Huth never pushes you on the pitch - the ground pulls you down automatically.

Was what people in the game call a clever yellow last night. Shame he misses a game but was always going to pick up that booking at some point over Christmas and better to save a potential goal with the yellow than take a silly one, also potentially the next game is the 'easiest' of the 3 coming up, if you can call it that.

It would have been a tough ask to stay out of the book last night and against the Merseyside teams to save it for Man City and then be suspended for Bournemouth. Probably best to go into the game last night knowing he could make it count. Not a bad professional foul to commit and a big plus to use it up against Costa.
