Huth "could have killed Wilson"

An overreaction by Huth that could've ended badly in a game where Bournemouth were just as purposefully reckless at the start of the match - Gradel going in hard on Mahrez, for instance.

Part of me thinks that if it hadn't been for De Laet neglecting his defensive duties in his area, it wouldn't have gotten that far in the first place.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking this! We look like an accident waiting to happen in 442 with that personel in place. Praying we go back to 3-5-2 soon

We certainly don't look like an accident waiting to happen with a 4411/ 442 at all! We played it against Sunderland and west ham and won both. Played it against Spurs in a more defensive manner and looked well organised and got a point. Then changed at HT against Bournemouth to a 442 and we won the second half!

I agree in some respects that the 3412 suits us and there's no doubt how well we did playing it last year, but...

To date this season a 442/4411 has been effective. In terms of shape under Ranieri the full backs and wingers are very often both on the touch line regardless of where the ball is. I noticed it especially against Sunderland. It enables us to stretch the pitch much more and therefore leaves the likes of Albrighton & Mahrez In more space and more chance to be 1 on 1 against a full back.

And as great as Mahrez is, I think he's most effective in areas in the final third if he can find areas where he has to beat a full back / covering midfielder. He beats his man 90% of the time and his chance creation rate this season playing wide must be ridiculous !

Society's ****ed up now days. When I was a youth you could go out on a Friday night after a hard week at work, have a few jars and get in a fight knowing that it would be nothing more than just good old fashioned fisticuffs. Nowadays it's different, you can't have a fight because you never know if some cowardly hoodied youth is going to pull out a football on you or not.

We so far have conceded the 8th least amount of shots in the league. That's fairly solid really with regards shots conceded, and I certainly don't feel like we're providing easy chances to people. We had more shots on Bournemouth I think and they had most of the ball.

I can't see Ranieri going with 3 centre halves - he's already got too many central midfielders and a 3-5-2 formation leaves him with even less opportunities to fit them all in.

The consideration of losing Huth at any time this season is a very scary prospect. I am baffled we haven't strengthened our defence more than we have, it's still our weakest area by a mile. If we were to lose Huth and Benalouane has to come in we could witness a car crash, so far he looks a bombscare. The longer Wasyl isn't included in matchday squads then the quicker his stature at the club will diminish. He's knocking on now is Marcin and you often see that players at their age when they lose the momentum of playing week in, week out that they just can't raise their game any longer. He was keen to go back to Anderlecht last year when he didn't start the season in the team and I can't imagine he'll accept not even making the bench, it's a concern for me. We're also pinning our hopes on Wes Morgan having a solid season who has had a weeks break, is a year older and probably just as erratic as he was last season.

Then when you look at the repeated faults of de Leat and Schlupp in a 4-4-2 and it's easy to feel uneasy.

I'm encouraged by our start to the season but i'm not getting carried away. If fans genuinely think there's no cause for concern then I don't envy the shock they'll receive when the shit hits the fan at some point. 3-5-2 is the way forward with the squad we have at our disposal, with that I can see our defence just about being ok to keep us towards midtable as our attacking play is more than good enough. Put pressure on our dubious defence though and our attack and creativity will be hugely tested and it's easy to lose potency.

This all sounds rather negative, but i'm just raising the nagging feeling I have about our defence and Ranieri's favoured 4-4-2.

Well for starters Benalouane has mostly played 3 minute cameos in right back, not even his first position, so can't be judged yet. As for the Morgan comments, he's probably been our best defender so far and for large spells was very good last year and was so underrated.

Yohann has looked very rash and scares the life out of me, very, very lucky not to have given a penalty in the dying moments last week. Hopefully he'll improve as he settles in.

Morgan's lack of a break bothers me though as the season progresses, hope he can keep up his form. I was certainly pleased with how he ended last season.

Only lucky in as much as the referee was the sort of simpering, milky eyed moron who might have given it - it was a shoulder to shoulder challenge and Wilson dived; never a foul in a million years.

aside from this clearly being a joke, anyone else concerned that huth has been half doggo for pretty much the whole season?

seemed to be a lot better in the 3 last year than he has been in the 2. reckon this is why pearson went to the 3 at the back, as soon as huth was fit?

I think the Bournemouth match was his only bad game. He was fantastic at West Ham.

Or as Wilson said... "He chopped me and took me out, I had no chance to stay up". lol

Where'd he say that? Post match with the beeb he said he put his leg across to try and buy one.

Hahahaa aren't most refs exactly that though? My heart was in my mouth when I saw him do it, it was very brave/reckless to go shoulder barging in your own box at 1-1 with seconds to go.

He was fantastic at W Ham but poor v Sunderland too.

If you actually see the replay it just skimmed by a gnats dick it never touched Wilson which was lucky really as it would have given him a bit of a headache !!

Halsey is completely out of order making such a statement as that what a fooking complete knobby Tw@ !!

I agree that Halsey is over-reacting, but I can't help wondering what kind of reaction Benoluane would have got on here if he had done the same thing...
