I don't see why we have to force ourselves into a false choice between Fuchs and Schlupp. It's clear that we're wasting Schlupp's talents by not playing him as a winger anyway.

As for the right back...I'm still not sure. There's a case to replace RDL - but I still feel the fundamental problem is co-ordination between the defence and the midfield, our propensity to get stretched by our counter-attacking style and the (lack of) cover provided by Mahrez. Simply ditching RDL is not going to change that.

It still makes me want to vomit to have Simpson playing for our club. I can completely see why his contract hasn't been cancelled, the appeal,ect.... but to actually pick him for the first team...

Schlupp s pace is really useful at the back. He can bomb up and down that wing. Often if we lose possession he manages to get back quickly so we don't get caught. Fuchs won't offer that but his positioning would probably be better. Difficult choice.

The rest chosen itself on form to be honest. Huth and Morgan and de leat. De leat is not as bad as people are making out, he has some tough wingers to deal with.

Arsenal will counter at pace with ox and Walcott in the team. We need de leat and schlupp pace to counter that.

No clean sheets yet and personally think the wink link is the full backs but with limited options at right back would love to see Fuchs get a start as looked Immense last night.

De Laet    Morgan    Huth    Fuchs

depends who they play. if they do that weird ramsey on one wing sanchez cutting in off the other then i'd go schlupp and rdl cos i wouldn't be too concerned by them getting in behind us. if they go walcott/ox/loadsa good wingers then we need good full backs and perhaps schlupp/albrighton as a winger to double up at times.

bit of a tricky one. wouldn't change the cbs.

Typical this.

Everyone wants to change the side and you just know that if/when we lose they'll be bemoaning the changes 'to an unbeaten side'.

Morgan is our Captain, he will play. Other than the howler at Stoke he's not done much wrong.

Huth has been ok. I listened to the radio 5 commentary after the Villa game and they were saying he was constantly fouling but I must have missed it.

Both of them look more comfortable in a back three though.

Left and Right back are tough calls. If Mahrez plays in the middle whoever is on the right may give RDL more support. I'm not convincedby Simpson after one decent game.

Jeff to start for me, I just think his speed if he gets going offers such a threat. Close call though if Fuchs had played a bit more football this year I would be tempted.

As we always seem to be chasing the game defensive substitutions are a rarity.

Not a game where I'd consider dropping Schlupp. We are going to require pace and athleticism for this one. It's going to be rapid tempo,

Again.hes hardly put a foot wrong all season, yet people want him out?

Why would we change? Nothing wrong with defence from last prem game that has been the same all season.

Yes we have conceded but if you want to play counter attacking football this is going to happen

Back four? I was thinking we could try 2-1-3-1-3

                 Wes            Huth

                         Kante

 Albrighton       Drinkwater         Dyer

I'd like to think that the people who are putting Fuchs in at left back would probably put Schlupp in front of him, not 'wanting him out' as you put it.

Agree, but like last season his frequently found out of position and often doesn't instinctively track back or close his man down. Start Fuchs (we need experience and composure) and in the absence of Dyer deploy Schlupp as an impact sub. Right now as possibly the fittest team in the Prem we are running other sides dead - happened against Villa, Stoke and West Ham...although Arsenal are a different proposition altogether.

He's done very well but he has still cost us goals and is part of a defence that is leaking them for fun, Fuchs on Tuesday looked exactly how I expect an International left back to look. There is still a huge question about where to play Schulpp and I don't think we are anywhere nearer to finding out what his best position is.

I still think his future is in a more advanced attacking role.

Isn't Dyer still unavailable for the weekend?

I think you made your feelings about Schlupp known on here last season didn't you Matt?

We'll always differ in opinion over Schlupp. Despite his mind going walkies every so often (most defenders do have lapses of concentration) I think young Jeff has been one of City's best performers for months.

This isn't to dismiss Christian Fuchs. He looks good stuff. But I see no reason to drop Schlupp for Arsenal. If anyone is going to have the pace and fitness level to run down their oncoming midfielders, it's him.

Schlupp, along with Vardy and at present, Kante, would be amongst the first names on my team sheet.

Dropping Schlupp as left-back doesn't equal dropping him altogether...

I said he did well last season but I still think as we progress he'll probably end up being replaced by someone of higher quality due to the fact he'll struggle to make a position his own, I don't think that is something that is still beyond the realms of possibility.

He's done well this season but to suggest he would be ahead of Mahrez as one of the first names on the team sheet is bonkers for me.
