LCFC FOX Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Who would you pick after last nights back four all had solid games? I know it's only one good game last night but with us keep leaking goals could a change help?
lgfualol Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 De Laet Huth Morgan Fuchs I dont want to see Schlupp benched but Fuchs is a proper left back, just depends how knackered he is.
Guest MattP Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 RDL/Huth/Morgan/Fuchs Fuchs showed exactly what a top class international full back looks like last night, it feels like a long time since we've seen one.
kingcarr21 Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Fuchs was best player on the pitch last night. Made Moses look stupid
Kitchandro Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Should be a back 3. Neither right back is acceptable.
DennisNedry Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 The biggest shame is that Fuchs is a LB not a RB!
foxfanazer Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Should be a back 3. Neither right back is acceptable. Worth giving Benalouane a game there at some point?
Alf Bentley Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 De Laet Huth Morgan Fuchs I dont want to see Schlupp benched but Fuchs is a proper left back, just depends how knackered he is. This. Fuchs is a defender who contributes to the attack, Schlupp sometimes contributes more to the attack (though he's erratic), but is a lesser defender. As Arsenal will have a lot of possession in our half, this seems more like a game for Fuchs, if match fit. That's assuming we play a back 4 (I imagine that we will). I wouldn't mind a 3-5-1-1 / 5-3-1-1, similar to the end of last season: Schmeichel; De Laet, Morgan, Huth, Wasyl, Fuchs; Kante, King, Drinkwater; Mahrez; Vardy I'm not expecting to see that side, though, not least as Fuchs, Wasyl & King will probably be knackered.
Alf Bentley Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Worth giving Benalouane a game there at some point? I presume that Claudio isn't even considering that, otherwise he would surely have played him right-back last night, instead of Simpson? May lack the pace/stamina required for a RB? Benalouane looked a lot better last night than in previous cameos, though. Will certainly challenge for a centre-back position on that showing. Played a few really good long passes, too.
Clever Fox Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Huth has been little more than average this season. So I'd go with De Laet, Benaloune, Morgan, Futch. As I think a little more experience will be needed against Arsenals quick players.
Nick Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Huth's nut has saved our bacon more times this season than I can count? First names on the team sheet: Vardy Mahrez Huth Kante Second names on the team sheet: Drinks, Albrighton, Dyer Then come the rest and there's a lack of defenders in there so recovery dependent I'd give Fuchs a run out as Arsenal will exploit Schlupp's mistakes.
MC Prussian Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Ranieri won't just take away captaincy from Morgan - won't happen, he's pretty much a guaranteed starter in league games. Add Huth to that and you've got yourself the centre-back pairing already. I've voted Simpson as right-back. De Laet is better going forward, but lacks defensive responsibilities, whereas with Simpson it's the other way around. Both are prone to silly mistakes, so I don't really see the advantage of one over the other. As far as the left-back choice is concerned, it's a tough one. I think Arsenal have quite the skillful and speedy wingers available, so Fuchs could potentially found out big-time here. However, Schlupp may be better suited catching up with Oxlade-Chamberlain or Walcott, but his defensive capabilities (ahem...) are very well-known on here, so again - can't really see much of a difference. Fuchs' experience may be the factor going in his favour.
dylanlegend Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Can Fuchs play in a back 3? How about Huth / Morgan / Fuchs? That way we don't have to drop Jeffrey
Juvenile Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Benalouane looked a lot better last night than in previous cameos, though. Will certainly challenge for a centre-back position on that showing. Played a few really good long passes, too. Some of his passing was superb, kind of what we have been expecting from Inler! All round good defending, looks more comfortable on the ball than Morgan.
Swarles Barkley Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Cannot see fuchs in a back three. His biggest asset is his crossing which will be nullified at lcb. If he is played we have to utilise him as left back/fullback to get him up the field, especially considering that Arsenal biggest weakness will be balls being crossed in. This would also mean we will have to play Ulloa and drop Okazaki
Juvenile Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Can Fuchs play in a back 3? How about Huth / Morgan / Fuchs? That way we don't have to drop Jeffrey Huth Morgan Fuchsalbrighton Inler Kante Drinky Schlupp Mahrez Vardy Would be a shame not to start Dyer, not sure how good he would be in a right wing back role???
Zapp Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Fuchs surely has to play vs arsenal His deliveries & composure on the ball could be vital when under pressure
Foxymcoxy Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Fuchs has just played 120 minutes, and Schlupp hasn't done an awful lot wrong. Plus even though Fuchs is quicker than I thought he was, the extra pace of Schlupp will be important, depending on who they play at RW. I would stick with Jeff for this one, but if he doesn't have a very very good game, Fuchs is looking at breaking into the team after that.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Fuchs in and move Jeff up to left wing with Kante/Drinky in the middle. Probably our strongest team at present.
Daz93 Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Fuchs has played his first full (even more than full) game for us and I wouldn't expect him to be able to play a full 90 minutes straight away again. Schlupp has also barely put a foot wrong. Okay, he's still a bit dippy but he's been pretty consistent. Fuchs has also come on in a few games and not looked too convincing. There's no way Schlupp deserves to be dropped after one good game by Fuchs.
Raw Dykes Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Fuchs deserves to start after his excellent performance last night. The cross for King's winner was sublime. I think he's probably our dead-ball specialist, and his throw might be the best a Leicester side has ever had. We could have scored another if Ulloa got as far back as Fuchs wanted him. I don't think Leo believed anyone could throw that far. He might not be fit enough for Saturday, but maybe the game after. Schlupp is more effective as a winger anyway. Benny really impressed me last night, as well. Looked a totally different player to the one who was coming on at RB and getting himself booked earlier in the season. Was a bit worried that he was going to be a waste of money, but now I'm pretty confident he'll be a good buy. Great to see that there's so much competition for places.
Father Ted Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Ranieri won't just take away captaincy from Morgan - won't happen, he's pretty much a guaranteed starter in league games.
