Buggsteam Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Quality first half. Fuchs is looking a great signing and him and Schlupp have been fantastic down that left side. Can't fault any of them so far. Even Simpson is playing well and getting into the game. Shinji is pressing well, he may have missed a few chances but he's putting pressure on their defence. Kante is looking he's usual quality player but for me so far it's all about Drinkwater. Another quality game from him so far and picking out some great passes. God I love this team

You think you'd get the same energy, closing down, the same ability to keep up with Vardy, if you played Ulloa or Kramaric up there. He's style is integral to how we set up our team at the start of games, that's why he starts. I'm not so sure. Kramaric is also quite quick and showed that he can also play the role behind the front man. I honestly think that as a back up for okazaki we miss Nuge, who was also quick and helped vardy to press high.
Swiper Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 I want to keep giving him a chance, but every week it's becoming more evident he's not the player that is going to get us goals, and if vardy loses his goalscoring form (thank good he's been so good) I'm not sure who else would score the goals apart from mahrez... If Vardy get's injured I'm seriously worried. Austin in January please. We'd likely have to completely change our style. Or put Mahrez as lead striker... Let's think happy thoughts for now.

Collymore Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 I was wrong to doubt CR at the start of the game. We haven't looked this defensively solid for a while and the link up play between Drinkwater, Vardy and Shinji is breath taking.

If vardy or mahrez lose form where will goals come from? I'll keep giving him a chance, but there comes a point where he has to start scoring, we cannot rely on vardy all season. The goals will come..... Patience my friend.

God I love this team Its not just his passing though,at least 2 or 3 times he used his strength to get the ball back when he had no right to and his positioning is great as well always making himself available. Improved drastically from last year

If we had played this way all season last year, he would have scored more than 5. This would fit him perfectly and with Vardy being absolutely on fire, that would have only made Nugent better. I think selling him was a poor decision.
Nick Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 We've only had so many chances because we have harried them from the front - positionally Okazaki has been amazing and in fairness his 'chances' ridiculously difficult to convert. Few too many armchair pundits here who reckon every time a ball comes within a yard of a striker he should score.

Goals aren't everything, if you change to someone like Austin (hugely overrated), you risk changing our style of play, and having someone to take the chances means nothing if the chances don't come. Good job only 2 players are getting them then! I know what you mean, okazaki does a huge amount for the team, but as I said, what happens when vardys form dries up (If it does) I think austin scoring 18 in a terrible team is not really Overrated, who would you sign if you wanted a striker though?
