BigWesMorgan Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Seems a long time ago... ...Since Jamie Vardy's misery season of 2012/13 Come on admit it, Who wanted his head?
filbertstreet Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Did we even have any good strikers that season?
Foxymcoxy Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Never wanted him gone so quickly but I didn't think he would be good enough. Proved me wrong in the promotion campaign and since then I've never doubted him, even in the depths of midseason 2014-15.
Vindaloo FOX Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 i remember him being linked with Boro after that misery season and i was not that bothered if he went but now i thank god he did not .
Frank to be Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 He always looked a great finisher to me but even the most optimistic of fans couldn't have perceived his rise.
MPH Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 I must admit, at the time i was looking for someone to pin my hope on, and had concluded that Jamie wasn't it. But i never wanted his head. Isnt that a bit ISIS-ish?
AKCJ Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 I was more dissapointed that it hadn't worked out as I loved his workrate and the desire he showed but didn't think he'd manage it but fair play to the lad.
Stevosevic Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Did we even have any good strikers that season? Nugent got 16 from open play i believe and Wood started off on fire when we signed him in January. Then we lost to Peterborough and went on a disgusting run of form.
lgfualol Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 When he was linked to West Brom for £5 million last season I thought that's a great deal for us. I have been proved wrong so many times by this stupid football club and its players. I try not to be a drama queen anymore because of it.
Thracian Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Vardy impressed me from day one but there was a time when I wondered if we'd ever get the best from him or he from himself. I never imagined he would do as well as to play for England though. But there's no reason now he shouldn't emerge successfully from even that challenge.
Larry_LCFC Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 He was shocking in the first season. Looked completely out of depth. I don't know what he did during the summer at the end of that season, but the transformation was ridiculous when he came back in August.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 First season, I wanted him gone for sure, thought he didn't have the quality for us. However after the promotion season I never lost faith even last year. He will go through spells off form and let's see if we can keep faith this time!
Guest ttfn Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Seems a long time ago that he spent his first five months in the Premier League (one glorious September afternoon aside) running into defenders and falling over. Absolutely astonishing transformation, Kanesque in its unlikeliness.
Leicester_Numan Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Seems a long time ago... ...Since Jamie Vardy's misery season of 2012/13 Come on admit it, Who wanted his head? Proud to say that when nearly everyone wanted him gone and the quality of all of Pearson's signings were being questioned, I was saying that Vardy could still turn out to be a very good signing. I didn't expect this much improvement this quickly though. Even pre-season when I was saying he'll just get better and better, I didn't expect the kind of improvement he's shown this quickly. The man is awesome. For those who don't know, if he scores against Palace, he'll smash Arthur Rowley's club record of 7 in 7 consecutive top flight games. I just hope I haven't jinxed him now.
Dan Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 I said even during our bad run that despite Vardy's poor performances (and he WAS poor), we did seem to go downhill when we replaced him with Chris Wood - who's early goals completely clouded the fact that we didn't function nearly as well as a team. The way he's come back even for us is pretty incredible. Makes you wonder what his limit really is.

Mrfox452 Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 I still remember the meltdown on here when Vardy and Drinkwater started against boro on the first day of the season. Only for both of them to pop up with the goals.
Vardinhio Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Watched him away at Huddersfield in the cup when he and Waggy came off for Nugent and Wood. He was absolutely awful! Oh how times have changed....
VLC86 Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 How long till Col turns up and tells us he envisaged this?
Spudulike Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 So will we be having a similar thread about Kramaric in the next two seasons ??
filbertstreet Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 So will we be having a similar thread about Kramaric in the next two seasons ?? Yes, when he scores the winning hat trick for us at the Chanpions League final
Jimothy Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 How long till Col turns up and tells us he envisaged this? Surprised he hasn't already. Tbf to Col he probably did envisage it. Because he's like a tabloid newspaper, and makes every prediction possible because eventually one will be right
