Corky Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 We HAVE to focus on the league more than a cup. Premier league survival is worth £100,000,000+ in kept revenue, Just because we are 5th does not mean we can not still end up in a survival scrap (although I doubt it now this season we look pretty safe) Give it another season then I'll care about cups, although this was a fantastic opportunity with arsenal and chelsea out. We do focus on the league. But this cup's next match is in mid-December. We have no midweek matches until then. There are no excuses for not wanting to do well in this.
johnny the fox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 And you need to talk some sense but we can't have everything. grow up ..
Leicesterpool Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Very sad, once again we lose on penalties! why don't we ever win penalties? Disappointed as I really fancied us to at least get to the semi's this year but never mind, can't moan much 5th in premier league doesn't sound bad at the moment.
The Doctor Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 bournemouth i think did on their promotions up the leagues. west ham have played there?! West Ham were there for the play-off final vs Blackpool the season they went back up, Sunderland for the 13/14 league cup final. Bournemouth went up directly and never reached the JPT final so it's us, toon and bournemouth who've not been there.

Larry_LCFC Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Wish we would take cup comps more seriously, especially at this stage against lower opposition. No excuse not to win that really.
The_77 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 I wonder how many of the folks who are slating Schwarzer actually watched him play today or just listened to the radio broadcast and are filling in the blanks? Sounded like blame could go around today.
fridoux Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 so f***ed up, why on earth resting kasper for this game,
RedSoxUK Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 how is it unrealistic with how we have been going? arsenal are out, chelsea are out. leaves only 3 of the big 4 in it. pay the cup no respect cuz you want to focus on the league and it will spit you out at some point. look at arsenal. hell look at chelsea! played a pretty strong team tonight and still got bit. the league cup isn't the most appatising of silverware and our name still isnt on the FA cup but its still a bloody trophy! i get that we need to focus on premier league survival to ensure we get the big bucks next year but surely with west brom away as the next game you can spare to start some of the first teamers! i get your point on mark. its a team game and cant blame him for being shit in the peno's we should have done the job in 90 minutes. we march onto west brom away then. at least we aint bloody chelsea thats all i keep thinking. hell at the rate they are going, stamford bridge in may for us may be survival sunday for them! The fact a decent Leicester side with King, Kramaric, Okazaki, Wasilewski, Albrighton, Inler, and 45 minutes with Drinkwater, Mahrez, and Vardy were unable to beat Hull City should suggest that it's unrealistic to beat 3 teams that could just as easily turn us over.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Last seasons achievement was staying up, we have 19 points so this years achievement would be to get to Wembley. We've made that a lot harder for ourselves now, we don't want a season like West Ham's last year where by February its all over.
EGBFitness Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 We're as good as safe though - 19 points, we need about 5 more wins typically and that's assuming that any of villa, newcastle, sunderland or bournemouth won't limp to the end of the season from here. There's zero reason not to take the tournament seriously after the start we've had Probably being the half empty city fan I am you can never take things as guaranteed until it's mathematically sure. Don't get me wrong we have put ourselves in a fantastic position put teams have gone on slumps even with great starts. We can't take our eye of the league still and must make sure we keep up with the pace as it looks we should To save grace, how about if we are still in the position we are in come the FA cup we can focus on a cup run? ;P

The_77 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 so f***ed up, why on earth resting kasper for this game, Yeah, man. So ****ed up to give your 2nd string keeper some match time, especially since Kasper has never gotten injured before.
Leicesterpool Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 didnt we win 2 in a row on the way to our last league cup victory? Yeah but that was nearly twenty years ago. Last three penalty shoot outs Leicester have featured in we've lost.
lgfualol Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 I thought we did take it seriously, other than Schmeichel being dropped. The team we played beat a nearly-full strength West Ham side in their last league cup game, so why would Ranieri play our league squad if we have West Brom in a few days? Not the end of the world.
Lesterlad Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Why do prats on here always blame individual players. We lost on pens. Why blame the goalkeeper. Chelsea lost 5-4 on pens is their goalkeeper garbage and should be kicked out of club? No don't think
Vicki Vixen Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Not surprised as we didn't have Arphexad in goal. Totally, man. Pegguy is one year younger than Schwarzer - that extra agility of youth could have made all the difference.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 credit where its due i remember the game now! dont remember sunderlands cup final at all! what about west brom and southampton? West Brom play off final vs Derby Southampton JPT
The Doctor Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 credit where its due i remember the game now! dont remember sunderlands cup final at all! what about west brom and southampton? Brom lost a play-off final to Derby in 2007, Southampton were there for a JPT final while in league one,
Larry_LCFC Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 For anyone who is still remotely interested.....
Leicesterpool Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Mind you what makes tonight not sound so bad is that both Arsenal and Chelsea lost aswell. I'd rather lose on penalties to Hull than get battered three nil at Sheffield Wednesday.
ramboacdc Posted 27 October 2015 Author Posted 27 October 2015 The fact a decent Leicester side with King, Kramaric, Okazaki, Wasilewski, Albrighton, Inler, and 45 minutes with Drinkwater, Mahrez, and Vardy were unable to beat Hull City should suggest that it's unrealistic to beat 3 teams that could just as easily turn us over. 3 of them played in the game your avatar pic comes from. shows how far we have come in a year. we dont have to beat 3 teams. just who is infront of us. we could have got sheffield wednesday next, then stoke, then the final of whoever. beating all 3 in a row would be bloody suicidal i take that point.
Sammy Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 As a fan who doesn't remember our regular Wembley trips I'm absolutely devastated we've gone out tonight. Desperate for silverware or serious cup runs, my parents don't talk about the 199_/9_ season. Don't get me wrong our current league form is amazing but that's almost made a real opportunity to go far harder to take.
The Doctor Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 What on earth was Schwarzer doing for that goal-line decision? definitely doesn't cross but my god what a clown.
