johnny the fox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 No major injuries is all that matters to me..
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 5-4 to Hull on pens, but now time to maintain our focus on the league and upcoming BPL games.
kingfox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Not surprised as we didn't have Arphexad in goal.
Kitchandro Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 What has staying in the league got to do with anything? It's October and we're halfway to safety. Cup runs don't damage league form either. No excuse for not taking this seriously.
Pasty1 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Get a grip for god's sake...... We lost to a strong team - with our second string...... Bring on the Brom!!!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 So he gave him a 2 year contract at age 42 for what reason? Clearly to be back up keeper. His contract length doesnt have anything to do with being good enough. If you want to take games seriously then you don't play a reserve old keeper in goal. Along with all other changes.
Kitchandro Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 No major injuries is all that matters to me.. What good is players being fit if we're not using them to win games of football?
Ozwin Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 I feel sorry for Hull fans. We played our reserves and it took them penalties to win. For an aspiring premier league club that must be worrying. I suppose they can have Schwarzer when they come up This just makes you sound proper bitter. Penalties are a lottery, what can you do?
Kitchandro Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Get a grip for god's sake...... We lost to a strong team - with our second string...... Bring on the Brom!!! Why was it our second string?
BlueSi13 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 You sound like you've been hanging around Newcastle fans Don't get me wrong I would love to see us at Wembley and winning a trophy but would still take another year in premier than a good cup run this season This is the attitude I don't get. Surely some of your fondest memories of us is going to Wembley and winning silverware? Not scraping a lower-mid-table finish so we can make up the numbers in a league that only gives a shit about five or six clubs?
adam Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Totally disagree. It's important our squad plays games like this. This happened vs West Ham and nobody moaned? Fuchs, King and Benalouane had very good games that games and that gives encouragement if they are called upon in the league. Annoying we've not got through tonight but I'm not that gutted given how our league form is. Do you not worry this could affect the momentum of our league form. Thats my main concern. We seen it with Pearson when we played Huddersfield in the cup. Massive downer to get knocked out like that .
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 But that's the point, that's why it's so disappointing. There's no good reason why we should have lost tonight. Even when we've been off it a bit in 1st halves this season we've given it a right good go in the 2nd. Is it any coincidence that tonight was the exception? Not for me, we've treated it like a nothing game and now I jut feel embarrassed and gutted. Fed up of this attitude towards the cups, don't people realise they are our only chance of ever winning anything? Totally agree. This was a real chance to get to a final, best chance we've had in years imo. Chelsea and Arsenal out. Watch Hull get Sheff Wed at home and get to semis
Tuna Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Ok several things. We are in serious shit if Kasper is injured. Schwarzer is far too old and not good enough, his reactions are not quick enough and we may as well have had a traffic cone in goal for the penalties. Okazaki and Kramaric are crap, Kram in particular can leave in January, at least Akinbiyi scored goals for us. Glad we are out of this tinpot competition as I hate tuesday night football and at least we are not as bad as Arsenal.
johnny the fox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 What good is players being fit if we're not using them to win games of football? arsenal lost walcott and chamberlain tonight and still lost three zip... would you have been happy with that?
Bluefoxtim Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 If we played a full strength team and then someone ended up with a broken leg, what then? If we played a full strength team, we won then got battered at the weekend, what then? Can't really win in cup games....
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Listening on the radio, 1-0 up, and as soon as I heard "you're fvcking shiiiit" being sung by our supporters I just knew...
The Doctor Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 So he gave him a 2 year contract at age 42 for what reason? Bring in a bit of experience to help out around the squad in a relegation battle with the intent to get a new goalkeeping coach as well? Much like with Kevin Phillips, or Chris Powell. Pearson had a history of bringing in experienced squad players to pass their knowledge on more than to play.
Nod.E Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Not seen Kitchandro's name for a while. Oh yeah, it's because we've just lost. Enjoy your evening, fella. That wait must have been killing you.
Izzy Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 This is the attitude I don't get. Surely some of your fondest memories of us is going to Wembley and winning silverware? surrifox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Pitiful that after 100 odd minutes of football we held the lead for only 5 minutes
Kitchandro Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Glad we are out of this tinpot competition as I hate tuesday night football and at least we are not as bad as Arsenal. If you're joking then that joke was never funny, certainly it's not after 200 times tonight. If you're not joking you're just a fvcking weirdo.
Jakemoore Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 I don't think this will affect our league form in the slightest. We lost on penalties to a reasonable side. And in any case, we were proper shit tonight and were lucky to make it to penalties. We'll be fine on Saturday. Westbrom are a poor side and we'll sweep them aside no problem.
the-blue-wildabeast Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 I feel sorry for Hull fans. We played our reserves and it took them penalties to win. For an aspiring premier league club that must be worrying. I suppose they can have Schwarzer when they come up They made 8 changes themselves. We had an expensive strike force (looking like poor signings so far), along with inler and benny, who also don't look like adding a great deal. A great opportunity to get to Wembley blown.
RedSoxUK Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Unrealistic to win the competition, but it's always good to go as far as you should - massive missed opportunity though, should really be beating Hull, doesn't matter it's away and doesn't matter if it's a second string team. The onus is on Ranieri though, shame. Can't just blame Mark for not saving a penalty, bit unfair, but i've seen it before. I recall Weale at Cardiff away once and laughing at how pathetic he was trying to save penos. Some positives, can just focus on the league for now - no injuries as far as we know.
