The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Just saw the goal that wasn't a goal and christ almighty, what the **** was schwarzer doing there
RedSoxUK Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 luck of the draw i guess but to say its unrealistic to win is nonsense. so many outside the top 6 go for it (apart from newcastle) and the top 6 piss around. wenger hasn't put a full strength team out for years in the competition. its easier to mean the man city's or liverpool's of the world in this competition than the FA cup. The odds would still be stacked against us if we had gotten through. Realistically, we were not going to win it - but there would always be a chance at every stage. In the last 10 years 9 have been won by top 6 sides, and the only one which wasn't was between Swansea and Bradford. Their could've been a chance we drew Shef Wed in the QF, then Everton int he SF - then lucked a win agaist Man City in the final, but it's still not realistic. That's the point i'm making.
Devonfox1884 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Anyone know how Hamer is getting on? Warming Bristol city's bench.
Lesterlad Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 The crap in this thread is worse then losing to hull
RedSoxUK Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 This thread has turned into such crap. We lost a League Cup match to a Hull side that looks promising for promotion right back into the Premier League, and Claudio made 10 changes to the lineup from Saturday. Did we all forget that awful 0-0 draw against Hull in March? After falling to Spurs the next week, we're on an incredible run, only losing to Chelsea and Arsenal before tonight. Bring on West Brom already. Yeah, this loss won't harm the dressing room at all - perhaps the string players but that's exactly why they're string players. Mahrez still scored and his penalty was saved down to chance.
WardyisPukka Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Hamer is 100% the better alternative to Schwarzer - its clear to see now. Fact is we should of not made 10 changes tonight especially the goalkeeper. I really really hope this doesnt affect our league form We had two shots on target all game - we should be doing alot better than that against Hull

lgfualol Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Just had this on reddit after my comment saying the game was miserable. "Yeah you were outplayed for most of the game except the last 10 minutes of normal time as well as a spell in extra time. We were brilliant. Really deserved the win despite having 3 crucial refereeing decisions go against us. Fantastic atmosphere. Leicester really brought the noise with their sold out allocation and we responded accordingly. One of the most entertaining games I've seen at the KC ever." Not sure if they're joking but oh god if that is them playing well and that is one of the most entertaining games, I'd kill myself if I was a season ticket holder there.
ozleicester Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 disapointing. But the reaction here seems a little over the top, we all knew that CR would play the 2nd side and im pretty sure most of us would say that was a logical thing to do to keep the players fit and focused? Dont get the Schwarzer hate, did he do anything wrong during the game, or did he just not save penalties?
Nick Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Meh. Stuff happens. We'll just have to settle for champions league and the FA Cup. No biggie.
Harry - LCFC Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 I don't really like it but I accept that the team will be changed quite drastically in games like this. And I suppose I'd have to admit that getting fringe players game time is useful too. But what I cannot understand is why you'd play Schwarzer in this game. At his age he clearly hasn't got the ability to play in the Premier League any more. He isn't competing with Schmeichel for the first team so there's little reason to give him game time so he can show what he can do - he simply isn't going to get in. There's also no need to 'rest' your goalkeeper. I'm sorry to say it but I feel quite annoyed at Ranieri for picking him. It wasn't the right choice for the match itself and I can't see any benefit to the team in the long run.
kingpowerout Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Starting to think that if (God help us) Vardy gets injured we are screwed. Kram, Okazaki not able deputies and Ulloa is struggling with form/injury. You could also say he same for the midfield if we lost Drinkwater and/or Kanté

Oxfordfox83 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Albrighton (Not good enough) Wow. I've read a lot of stupid stuff on this site, but in a serious post, that is definitely up there. Someone hacked your account Thrac, or was it a tough night on the smack?
foxinsox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Striking options are a real problem. If Vardy gets injured or has a goal drought we are in big trouble. Charlie Austin? Goalkeeper in the winter too.
st albans fox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 In a Chinese airport hotel Asleep during the game Wake up and find a text message that we lost on pens Onto here immediately to read that losing on pens is the keepers sole responsibility. I was a keeper once. Had the odd decent shoot out but generally you don't. I don't remember the greatest keeper, shilts, ever doing well in a shoot out. The team is responsible for not beating hull. Not the goalkeeper. reading that he threw one in during normal time but not sure that's true. if he did then fair enough but don't blame the keeper for not saving a pen - please.
MC Prussian Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Disappointed with the result, but when you look back at the game from start to finish - what chances did we really create? Was Hull's win really that much of a fluke? Our goal was created with a huge slice of luck and Hull could've led by two goals already by that time. Referee gave a handful of crucial decisions in our favour prior to that about which no one can complain and at no point did it seem were we actively and remotely interested in taking anything from this game. Mahrez's penalty acting as a symbol for that attitude. For many a player, this fixture felt just like an annoyance. Which LCFC representative did take the competition seriously tonight? What also grinds my gears is that so many members of our extended squad had a chance to shine on this occasion - and bar Chilwell and the rest of the back four, they all pretty much let the fans down.
4everfox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Fair play to Hull, they kept us quiet in terms of scoring goals in 90 minutes for the first time this season, even if it was against our reserves. If we had played our first team (and I for one think we should have to some extent) we would have battered them. The cup was there for the taking this season and we threw it away. Schwarzer was crap, the defence was solid, the midfield lacked creativity and the forwards didn't receive sufficient service. I believe we were resting players and rotating the squad to prioritise results in the Premier League, if not (and we have played players just to keep them happy) then we have simply underestimated them. If we had played Drinkwater and Kante in the middle it would have been a different story. We shouldn't be getting battered in midfield by teams like Hull ever.
Guest Manini Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Missed their equaliser tonight because I had to run to get the train back to Leeds, what happened? Poor game in all fairness, they played pretty well and we just never got out of 1st gear. Few players will be and should be disappointed with themselves tonight, my MOTM was Benny, thought he looked pretty composed and solid. Looking at the game from start to finish, Hull deserved to win, they created loads more than us. I thought our goal may have been offside but the official was well in line so I trust his judgement. (Left side right side chant was magic as well, decent atmosphere from us tonight I thought although flat in places)
Thracian Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Wow. I've read a lot of stupid stuff on this site, but in a serious post, that is definitely up there. Someone hacked your account Thrac, or was it a tough night on the smack? If you think differently that's fine but I'm afraid that floating high balls to small forwards serves no purpose whatsoever. He's got skill, no question but to hit the same kind of aimless passes tonight as he did against Palace on Saturday makes no sense and suggests a player whose acting out of habit rather than thinking about what's best. I didn't say the bloke was no good but that he wasn't good enough. There's a difference. I've seen stacks of wingers, some of whom crossed the ball brilliantly and some who didn't but perhaps had other strengths. Albrighton's strength is that he's a willing defender as well as a reasonable attacker but that's all. Depends how high you're setting our sights I guess. .
