ScouseFox Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 murrays got a great chance off that list imo
Donut Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 I've backed Vardy each way at 20s. Won't win it tho as the Bbc love a bit of political correctness And the fact that there are other people that have done loads more than him doesnt exactly help.
AKCJ Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Absolute load of ****ing bollocks. If Harry Kane scored 11 in a row he'd be nominated all day long. FACT. And the fact that there are other people that have done loads more than him doesnt exactly help. Don't talk out of your bumhole.
Donut Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Theres world champions on the list. WORLD CHAMPIONS in what they do. I somehow dont think my statement was bollocks. And for gods sake, dont twist it to say i think Vardy is a bad footballer. I know your character and youre a bit of a moron. I rate Jamie Vardy as high as anyone. The guys phenomenal.

No sorry, I thought you were objecting to Vardy not being nominated (i'm sure you agree that he absolutely should be nominated). I misread the post you quoted. Donut calling me a moron though...
champselect Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Does anyone else think that vardy should be in the short list for sports personality??
gerrytaggart Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Does anyone else think that vardy should be in the short list for sports personality?? Next year after he has smashed in the winner for England in the Euros final.
nnfox Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 I thought he was in with a shout but actually, when you look at the list, I can see why he isn't. Even if nominated, he wouldn't get close to the prize. Leicester team of the year though? 2015 been good. Maybe behind the tennis Davis Cup team and England ladies football?
Carl the Llama Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Can see him getting the nod next year though if he keeps his form up, wins the golden boot, and represents England with a good showing at the Euros, all of which I can see only injury stopping tbh.
Lloydwasmylife Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 After the casino debacle? I'm afraid that'll most likely follow him for the rest of his career

Carl the Llama Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 I don't mean golden boot do I? What do they call the prem version?
Len Finsbury Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 After the casino debacle? I'm afraid that'll most likely follow him for the rest of his career He'll have to do something extraordinary at the Euros for people to forgive him for this.
Wycombe Fox Posted 1 December 2015 Posted 1 December 2015 Sorry for being a bit pedantic but shouldn't the thread title be SPOTY 2015?
Darkon84 Posted 1 December 2015 Posted 1 December 2015 The Davis Cup Tennis team looks like definitely favourites for the team prize, but I couldn't help sticking a fiver on the England Womens football team at 40/1. Those are some great odds!

Vardy has broken a record of 12 years in one of the biggest sporting leagues in the world. Lucy Bronze has made the list for scoring a couple of goal for England at the Women's World Cup. He's much more deserving of a spot than her for example.
purpleronnie Posted 1 December 2015 Posted 1 December 2015 Joe Root not nominated for Sports Personality of the year. Weird.

This, it's political correct nonsense to please the idiots, it's been going on for years at this event now. It wouldn't surprise me if they even went to the length of giving the England womens the team award over the David Cup side. It's a tough choice for the winner mind, Ennis-Hill, Murray and Fury all more than deserving of the accolade, I'd like to see Fury win just to see the speech, it would be everything they hate and that's probably why he won't win.
AKCJ Posted 1 December 2015 Posted 1 December 2015 If Ennis wins it will be because she's the BBCs poster girl and nothing else. Her achievements don't match those of Fury and Hamilton.

The more I think about the more I agree, Murray has just single handidly won a World Cup we hadn't won since 1936 and Fury has just dethroned the undisputed World Champion who hasn't been beaten for over ten years. How is she favourite?
Guest MattP Posted 1 December 2015 Posted 1 December 2015 Joe Root not nominated for Sports Personality of the year. Weird. Just noticed this, wtf. Automatically assumed he was in. Wins an Ashes, becomes the number one batsman in the World and is behind Peaty, Whitlock, Bronze etc?
