How is that even remotely the same? I'm not talking theatres in general, I'm talking the bataclan. Having seen that picture and knowing the absolute horror that happened in there, I couldn't sit there enjoying myself. Wouldn't feel right imo.

same principle in terms of a tragedy happens but you still go to same places/same venues use same modes of transport etc. just my thoughts anyway, personally i'd still go there despite the tragic events of Friday night when the venue is ready to be used again.

you still get on a plane after 9/11?

you still get in cars after horrific car crashes on motorways etc?

Completely different. If he'd said he wasn't going back to theatres in general then your point might have some validity.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to the theatre now.

Have you ever been to an away match...say in Sheffield?

Was that a horrific, bloodied mass murder by terrorists in a confined room aswell then? Or just an avoidable tragedy. Could you honestly say you wouldn't flinch at every bang in there from now on? If you think you could sit there and watch a show, that's fair enough. I certainly couldn't. That said, some very strange comparisons being made here.

I agree. A corrupted version of any religion is lethal, be it Christianity, Islam or anything else. Its why I find it so frustrating that people try to play the victim because of their religion. I must have seen 10 different facebook posts of people from the islamic faith citing how unfair it is that they are all getting the blame for these attacks. In reality, probably 1% of people blame all muslims. The 99% are mature enough to realise it is an extremely corrupted small group of muslims who are at fault and that the muslim faith as a whole doesn't promote violence.

Therein lies the problem. You can't negotiate with infallability, you can't negotiate with dogma and you can't negotiate with the invisible.

Withdrawing from the Middle East, ceasing air strikes etc 'may' prevent attacks on Western cities in the immediate future but it will not prevent attacks on muslim cities, peoples or insitutions. We stop, they carry on killing and the best we can hope for is that they are content to kill their 'own' and stay within certain borders. Sadly this is a death cult, this can only end one way and that is with the death of everyone. If ISIS follow their interpretation to its innevitable conclusion then they too will realise that they must kill themselves if they are to live a 'just' life.

There are thousands of people that don't fly as a direct result of 9/11 and likewise there are plenty who have a fear of driving as a result of collisions they've been involved with.

But the point stands. Could you really let your hair down and enjoy yourself in the Bataclan knowing what has happened? I don't think I could.

I'm really not and there is no need to get personal with namecalling. I see what you are getting at and they are both tragedies, but they are just completely different circumstances that in my opinion, aren't really comparable. I simply cannot comprehend the scene of horror in that room and personally, I wouldn't ever want to step foot in there. Each to their own though.

How many times have you been to the Bataclan? Did you have intentions of going there or elsewhere in Paris to go to a gig? If not, then you are coming across as a drama queen, bitching about comparisons

All he's said is that he wouldn't like being there after knowing what has happened. Get a grip ffs.

I've been to Paris quite a few times and been to various music events. I've never been to the Bataclan, and now I don't think I would either.

I don't get what the big deal is. If someone is uncomfortable going to the scene of a mass murder then so be it. Others might not be but that's life. It's personal choice at the end of the day.

Have a word for **** sake.

What word is that? I can think of a number, but maybe you're right, reading some of the shite in this thread is probably winding me up unnecessarily and I'm likely to reply or post against some these. Best to remove myself from this thread for awhile.

There really is no need to mock him for not wanting to go to the Bataclan.

I also think it's best you leave this thread as you're seemingly incapable of respecting anyone else.

Missing the presence of El Empty and Zingari in this type of thread.

IT WUZ DA JOOZ

There's a Muslim lady on my Facebook timeline who keeps posting articles which strongly hint at just this without saying it. The comments below the article are full of people explicitly blaming a Zionist conspiracy.

The lack of acceptance and self-policing amongst a sizeable minority of the well-integrated Muslim population is really disappointing and worrying.

I see facebook are the latest to be criticised for "treating the paris attacks as more important" compared to those that happen on a weekly basis in Afghan, Iraq, Lebanon etc. In fact, I think a lot of criticism has been levelled at the media in general which to a degree, I think is somewhat unfair.

Although the regular bombings and Isis attacks in the aforementioned countries are just as evil and wrong, they are active war torn countries. People are going to get killed - its the brutal reality of being at unnecessary war and living in a warzone. Sadly, civilians get hurt. Clearly an attack of this nature in a country at peace by terrorists is always going to cause more outrage, wrongfully or rightfully. I don't think you can blame the world for being disgusted at what has happened and the media for giving it such heavy coverage.
