tyfox Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 The usual suspects are lining up for the latest scapegoat. The idiot who sits behind me also called him lazy after his first touch from a hollywood cross field pass which asked a lot of him to get to it. His posture is slightly awkward, in the same way, Richie De Laet has an unusual running style. Being different these tend to attract the ignorant can i just say how awesome it is that people are looking for "scapegoats" against man utd. any other year we would expect a good hiding from them. so happy with how far my clubs come
GaelicFox Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Having had another great day out yesterday where we could well have got another three points, after a good display - not our best but a good performance - I feel I have to question the part Jeff played in proceedings. Aside from the lack of technical ability and understanding of positional play, yesterday - not for the first time this season - I saw a distinct lack of effort, or laziness from him, which above all else really grates with me given the efforts to a man, the rest of the boys always put in from start to finish. Given he only played part of the second half, I find this totally unacceptable, and something that completely goes against this teams ethic. Your 15 or 16 Please tell me this the musings of a child
Countryfox Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Can see why this thread started ..,., definitely something not right with our Jeff yesterday ....... I haven't got a clue what it was ... but then again probably neither has Jeff.
Mike Oxlong Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 The point being, I don't think he was trying as hard as she should have been. Has Jeff got a dick or is he a chick? No wonder (s)he looks confused.
TJB-fox Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Jeff schlupp, I ****ing love Jeff schlupp, I ****ing love Jeff schlupp
roblcfc84 Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Lazy may be a bit OTT but i get the point originally made - i think the right word is casual its not lack of effort its just one of his traits - has a habbit of leaving a ball to go out for a throw in only for opposition to keep it in.

tyfox Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 You missed my point- the same guy in the crowd has targeted Mahrez during our recent run on the one game where he was slightly below par. i wasnt being critical of either of u mate i was just stating that its refreshing to hear the word scape goat after drawing with utd
Charl91 Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 I kind of understand what OP is getting at. I thought Jeff's contribution/work rate was slightly underwhelming; considering he'd been on the pitch 80 minutes less than the others, if I hadn't of known, I would have never been able to guess who it was that had just been brought on. I don't know whether it can be attributed to laziness though. Maybe he was worried about being caught out of position. Wouild make sense - was a nervy ending.
StanSP Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Think what a lot of people have to understand in a game like yesterday's, and at the time when he came on against a side who were happy to keep possession in their own half or in the middle third, it was never gonna be easy to involve yourself and get a decent spell on the ball. Schlupp suffered as a result yesterday so it wasn't really his fault. Where he could have had a go at getting himself in the game was on that run where he could have cut back and not attempted to do Smalling for pace. This is where the intelligence and tactical awareness comes in which he lacks. Cut back, wait for support, knock it around a bit and find some space. I don't even think there was anyone in the box even if he did manage to get past Smalling. So it's not laziness, it's a bit of naivety which will disappear (I hope), the more he plays. Many don't realise he's still only 22!!
Jimmy Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 brought on to double up and cover Fuchs more, did that, had he bombed on and they countered and scored you'd all be bitching about that

matty98 Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 He never looks brilliant when he comes off the bench imo, he needs time to grow into games
Dan Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Jeff Schlupp, for how likeable he is and how much he seems to love it, will only go so far because of his complete lack of brain. Did not have a clue what to do when Darmian stood off him yesterday.
ScouseFox Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 his performance yesterday was as pathetic as the posters who were obviously going to say he was man of the match.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 29 November 2015 Author Posted 29 November 2015 So why not put your pathetic criticism of a sub in the existing Schlupp thread. Complete non-thread. What the 'Stupid things Schlupp did'thread? That thread is where your criticism should be aimed at you cretin - where it's a piss take. I on the other hand am making an observation, and one that so far as I have seen from the retorts on here has not been countered with an reasonable counter arguament other than 'he does know what he's doing'. Which to me seems to add weight to my point.? Are people saying he's too thick to know what effort is required? If so that's being disrespectful to Jeff I would submit.

Guest Col city fan Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 I remain a big fan of Schlupp and am sure he's going to continue to have a big part to play in how we maintain our season. I do find it staggering sometimes the stick he can get from our own fans, especially Scouse Fox who takes the piss out of him whenever he possibly can, or so it seems. Schlupp is not a bright footballer. He's an instinct footballer. And I'm sure his athleticism and fitness levels will be important as the season progresses into its last third. Just like last season where he remained solid and tireless.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 29 November 2015 Author Posted 29 November 2015 there's been tons of comments saying he's not lazy with justifiable reasons. you just chose the wrong description for him. There has been the majority who don't agree with my observation who can be bothered to get involved in this thread, but the reasons given are: 1.not allowed to be critical of any players 2. not valid because he was a substitute 3. I'm a Jeff 'hater' 4. It's not he's lazy - he just doesn't know what he's doing. There has been one or two 'enlightened' folk on the other hand who saw what I saw and are not convinced with his attitude. I'll leave it at that. Let's see what transpires.
ARTY_FOX Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 I don't think it's too wide of the mark to say he didn't come on and play with any urgency what so ever. I would assume it was down to what he was told on the touchline but he did look like he wasn't too fussed at times

'enlightened' cos they agree with you but if someone doesn't then they don't have the right attitude.

However, my point remains at times this season his levels of effort / attitude have been questionable.
sdb Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Looked pretty clueless yesterday I must say, and whilst he's not lazy I see what the OP is saying. Agree with the post saying he tends to grow into games. Never thought of it like that before but can barely think of an example to disprove it.
ScouseFox Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 lazy schlupp sounds like a pretty cool name for a cocktail
