davelcfc100 Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 What are the negatives to improve on now? Please don't shoot me down this isn't me being pessimistic or trying to put a downer on things, in fact it's the opposite, the only negative I can think of after today is that vardy didn't break his own record and probably felt frustrated, that being really picky I can't think of any other negative so how do we improve now?
EnglishOxide Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 New striker. And be more clinical in front of goal. That's about it. In terms of tactics and motivation, that's down to the players and manager to keep getting right. I think next time we come up against a team like Arsenal, which will probably be Liverpool, we should be more cautious about fighting fire with fire and just trying to outscore them. Although our defensive side seems much better since then anyway.
urban.spaceman Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Defending corners perhaps, but even then we're doing pretty well (5 goals in the last 8 games). I don't know if we should strengthen in January as that might upset the apple cart. But in the summer we could definitely do with a new striker

Another striker, cover at some of the thinner positions on defense (RB, maybe CB), GK. And there's been some selfishness in attack, in terms of some players being myopic and not playing the right pass (versus attempting shot himself). Not like that's a huge problem, but it'd be nice if those moments decreased. Oh, and set pieces.
WesMorganGod Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Another striker in january would be ideal. But one thing we really need to improve on is when we defend set-pieces, we still look vulnerable, to be honest every game we have won we have still looked shaky on set pieces and we have conceded most of our goals from set pieces, especially corners. Apart from that we have been perfect all season.
bluebeau Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 I agree that we need a striker to partner Vardy, but the other important matter that Claudio should attend to is getting some new long term contracts sorted out for several of the squad.
foxinsox Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Improved contracts for some of the squad is a must. A decent back up goalie too. A striker would be nice. Kramaric out on loan to QPR in part exchange for Austin. Ulloa is good at defending set pieces, he should start against Chelsea. Living the dream, so happy and pleased for the lads.
lcfcsnow Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 I'd make it essential to get Chilwells contract sorted.
teblin Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Might be out of our grasp, but someone like felani would be useful for us. Can play in the second striker role, would add much needed height to the team and comfortable to drop back into midfield when needed.
Danish Fox Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 We have to improve on set pieces. Often too much room for the competitions. Maybe a midfielder to relieve the others of some of the hard work. The season is long.
sdb Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Defending set pieces. Get Kramaric a 1 month loan in Jan, somewhere he'll play lots. Other than that, not a lot, unless a real bargain opportunity comes along for a player who'd improve our XI. The fewer the changes the better though.
Captain... Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Set pieces attacking and defending. Possession: we need to be able to keep the ball better at times, we invite pressure on ourselves and sometimes I feel we need to just keep the ball better and not always looking to spring the attack. Teams are going to try and figure us out and they know we play devastating quick breaks and most of our goals come from that. If we are playing a team that sits deep and is just set up to stop that we may need another way of playing.
TMELcfc Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 When we are 3-0 up with 10 mins left get Inler and Kram on the pitch! Both need some game time especially If the match is already won.
hejammy Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 I think if we are going to push for Europe we need better cover, Another cb, gk, and right midfield. We also need another striker for the first team and a class right back and have Simpson as cover. A lot of people saying we would be at the wrong end of the table if we didn't have Vardy and Mahrez however I have to disagree, obviously they have scored the goals but we've been a proper team. Kante and DD have been immense. Albrighton is currently one of the best crossers in the league at the moment for me. Fuchs has slowly started to show his ability.
Countryfox Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 What are the negatives to improve on now? Nothing at the moment. CR quite rightly has turned the 'tinker' knob down to low and is not vigorously looking for new players in January. He wants to study the full potential of what he has and look for areas to improve without changing the fantastic spirit that he has created. The next few games will be a real barometer and show just how good this squad is. January could easily be seen to be a time, whilst our stock is high, to try and attract some big names, but I think the way that they, (the owners and manager), are doing it is spot on for the long term goal of turning LCFC into a consistent top 6 team.
foxfanazer Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Just make sure we've got enough depth in the squad. Would hate for us to miss out on a miracle because of injuries or burnout
Countryfox Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Just make sure we've got enough depth in the squad. Would hate for us to miss out on a miracle because of injuries or burnout CR thinks we have.
Cincinnati Fox Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Rb, Simpson taken off against man Utd as young had him on toast, yesterday Swansea brought monwhatever his name is as they identified he was our weak link. He just backs off way to much for me and is too easy to read. Claudio must be able to dig out a worldly Italian right back!
Finn Claw II Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 It's unlikely we will have as good a chance as this to finish in the top 4. Recognise that and bring forward the summer recruitment plans. If Celtic can make it to the group stages then so can we. Get Kram out on loan to the end of the season, I'd offer him to Bournemouth then a good Champ side. We either need a keeper that claims corners or a couple of bigger players, I can't see how we significantly improve defending set pieces with the players we have.
foxfanazer Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 CR thinks we have.No reason to doubt him. We are extremely fortunate to have so few injuries so just hope that continues
Fatbloke Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Set pieces both attacking and defending and a new Keeper.
Leicesterpool Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Simply another striker really, there as been moments we we've had chances early on to destroy opponents. Perhaps Charlie Austin? Also a need keeper.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 I'd wave 20m at Watford for Ighalo and perhaps have a sniff at their right back Nyom too. For me, Kramaric and De Laet could go if we got those two and we'd have improved the squad. Wouldn't mind another CB, maybe Ranieri could pull some strings to get an experienced Italian hard nut if they are an improvement on Huth or Wes (we don't need more backup, I think Benalouane and Wasilewski are fine for that).

Judging by his performance against us, he is no way near the level of De Laet or Simpson
