ozleicester Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 The Missus told me to back us for a $10 to win the league when i told her at the beginning of the season we were 1500/1. She said, "theyre stupid odds, youve got to have a chance surely?... put $10 on it" I was a chicken and put $1.... now who is the stupid one? But wait... they are now offering me $15 to cash out.... hmmmm ............nah fvck it,, im staying around for the $1500 payout edit. also have us to finish top 6 @ 25/1 thats looking safe edit 2 ............. WHAT A FVCKING KNOBEND i was looking at the site and meant to click on the "how much slider".... hit the cash out!! arrghhh.... my $1500, just became $15 :(
Rincewind Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Seen somewhere that Chelsea are shorter odds to win it. Are they kidding? They still may make top half or even top six but it would take an incredible run and a complete change of attitude within their squad. I'm beginning to think we can actually do it. Whatever happens this will be one of the club's best years in their history
simon789us Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 As much as I would like us to win it from this position a top 6 finish would be massive for our club lets just enjoy the ride while it lasts
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Am I missing something here? We've all played the same amount of games and we're two points ahead. So surely if we win all of our games (which we won't) then we win the title? So it is in our hands right?Yes it is in our own hands but it is also in the teams I mentioned hands if they win their games too.I know we can't all win our games, I'm just saying if they win theirs they will win the league as they will have beaten us. Until we are 4 points clear then others have it in their own hands too.
kingcarr21 Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 heard a rumor, that we a looking at disgruntled Costa to partner Vardy in the summer. (maybe a loan move) ok then
Gerard Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 That's just incredible. Not really, 200 votes from Leicester fans no doubt.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 How an earth would the bookmakers pay out should we win it
Gerard Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 In the previous 23 PL seasons, of every team top after 15 games every single one finished 3rd or better, apart from Villa in 1999, who finished 6th... And the team top after 15 matches has gone on to win the league 47.8% of the time It's a meaningless stat though. Probably all of those 22 team that were leading after 15 games were in the top three favourites for the title pre season so you would expect a top three finish. It's not a coincidence that the only one who didn't was the unfancied Aston Villa.
Rincewind Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Just saw that on the LTID page on FB on my timeline. It does show that if we do not suffer a major slump in form a top four CL spot is possible. Can't find the post now but what was the lowest position a team finished )Villa) after being top? Arsenal took points off us but have still dropped points against inferior sides. We are the most constant side thus far. I think we will know better after the Liverpool Everton Man City and even Chelsea games. If we are still top 3 after those then I will be more hopeful. I cannot see us taking anything against Man City but I will be happy with draws against the others.
Tom's Pasta Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 I love how there's one thread questioning whether we can win the title and then another one questioning whether we're safe from relegation. I'm just enjoying the ride, love being a city fan right now.
Countryfox Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 It doesn't matter what anyone says, thinks or believes, what matters is the next game, our remaining results and, doubtless, the results of other clubs although we are the only team in a position to be masters of our own Premiership destiny which is a plus. People have commented on the potential pitfalls but it can work the other way too. Manchester City losing before we even kicked off at Swansea was encouraging and became a nice, big bonus, by the time we'd taken advantage by winning ourselves. Then there was the Liverpool game. After their demolition of Southampton in the Cup it was nice to see them get beaten too and, with others in the chasing pack faltering as well, our 3-0 win was suddenly worth that much more than just the three points we could effect. The point is that while there might be pressure and problems for us to cope with, there's arguably a little more on our competitors because we've already got two more points than anyone else. People talk about us sustaining injuries but they forget that our players don't seem to acknowledge pain anyway any more than they recognise the fear of failure or negative thoughts of any kind. Who knows, it might be that our approach to looking after players is as good as our team's is on the football field. That might be medical. Or it might be that if they do succomb to injury they might never get their place back or the chance to walk across the top of their world ever again! Fergie talks about investment but I've seen no lack of investment at City. What I have seen is the value of a tight squad. There's competition for places at City but not so much that we're likely to have a lot of well-paid miseries knocking around the club complaining they're not getting a game and that's important. Then there's the question of burnout. Well, it's already been highlighted that if the latest league table had been compiled from the beginning of last April or thereabouts we'd be even further ahead - I think six points has been mentioned. And we didn't lose in our pre-season friendlies either! What that says to me is that our players absolutely love winning and don't expect to do anything else. Yes, Vardy's seen by many as a talisman. The human ball of energy that lights the way forward. But then people talk of Riyad Mahrez with all his goals and assists that stand right alongside Vardy's. Then they mention Drinkwater and with what pride for a bloke who hardly ever scores, hardly ever even hits the target but still sets such a breathtaking example. Suddenly one "star" player becomes three and then someone starts devling a bit deeper and finds that Kante can play a bit too. Not occasionally but week in, week out and so it goes on and on to include so many players who are consistently finishing their shift with player ratings of seven or more and who all have wonderful results records, these last seven or eight months whether at Leicester or elsewhere. So while we've won nothing significant yet except the right to play in the top flight and one of the most remarkable relegation escapes in Premiership history, and while the need to stay focused on nothing more than the next game seems paramount, I see no reason why we should lose the next game any more than any of the other games that have led to us being so talked about. We've been winning or drawing for good football reasons - not because people have been charitable. And who, through all the analysis, has greater spirit than ours? Because spirit is something "money can't buy". Just what I was going to say !

Oxfordfox83 Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Forget its Leicester City, and forget its Mahrez, Vardy, Drinkwater etc. If the team top of the league had the top scorer in the league, the most in form winger in the league, hadnt lost an away game, scored the most goals in the league and had scored in every game, youd legitimately say this team could win the title. If it was Aguero, De Bruyne, Man City had just beaten Swansea 3-0, people would be sitting there saying what a marker theyve laid down. Its the fact that its Leicester City that makes it seem impossible. BUT If we keep everyone fit, and everyone keeps firing a little longer, it IS possible. Now obviously, this is a HUGE longshot. But from what ive seen so far this season, weve definitely been the best, and most consistent side in the division. The pressure come the end of the season would be of a level of enormity i couldnt comprehend though if we had say, 8 games left and had to match Arsneal or Man City's results to win the title. Wow. Thing is, people did say that about Man C early in the season, and they've fallen from grace. It's really not to say that we can't do it, but that it's still mightily unlikely, and (more importantly) if we (only!) get top 10 that is massive progression from last year. If we could get top 4, the best part would be improving our chances of hanging onto our best players, and better pull for others...
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 How an earth would the bookmakers pay out should we win it My mate put £20 on a 5000/1, looks like might be getting a free house come Summer. Bastard.
goose2010 Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 How an earth would the bookmakers pay out should we win it Them Pay out?? us winning it would make them an absolute killing! It would be one of there biggest pay days!
Finnaldo Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Them Pay out?? us winning it would make them an absolute killing! It would be one of there biggest pay days! Exactly, think of the hundreds of thousands of people who would of bet Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool at the start of the season. I doubt many people are prepared to put money on Leicester (other than us) just yet either.
promised land Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Them Pay out?? us winning it would make them an absolute killing! It would be one of there biggest pay days! They want the favourites to win all the time surely, therefor the smallest odds to pay out.
Donut Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 They want the favourites to win all the time surely, therefor the smallest odds to pay out. They want favourites to lose so they keep vast sums of money staked on the favourites.
