Having read the article Walsh wouldn't go anywhere any way, he's stated he's settled and as he heads up our scouting team as well as being an assistant why would he go to be a number 2 behind Rowley there? As for Ben, moving from head of technical to just a scout isn't particularly attractive as a career move either.

TheMightySystem Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Don't want to appear stupid but why aren't there transfers for staff as well as players. Seems a bit unfair that you can contract a staff member for 3 years or so and then have them snatched from you by a bigger club. I understand the club loosing gets a small fee for the staff member leaving but when your staff members are a key component to your club it seems an unfair rule, why not just do the same with players and get rid of the transfer window?

It's one of the problems with modern football, and means it hard or impossible to break into the top 6 or 4. If we do it this season, it should represent a big middle finger to the football establishment! Southampton friends of mine have bemoaned this for years, losing their top talent year on year. Key difference between us and Saints is that they are a selling club on account of their owner wanting out.
