Izzy Posted 12 December 2015 Author Posted 12 December 2015 At least streams are available on a weekly basis, that's my saving grace. Indeed. Nowhere near the same as actually being there, but the next best thing I guess...
Guest foxestalkisfullofidiots Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Not having a go at people who don't choose to go because of money, having a ST is literally my biggest luxury I pay by DD £33 pm, I would never give it up, I miss about 6 or 7 games a season due to work and back in league one I couldn't give tickets away but my mates always buy it off me no days....but I do wonder if people use money as a excuse, going to the football has got to be better than the cinema, pub, cigarettes hasn't it?
ElusiveEd Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Was a ST holder for many years but then work/career took over and took me out of the country and around the globe, week in week out and missed so many games, home and away. Took a career break and bought myself and my son a ST for 1012/13 and then 2013/14 as had missed so much of the LCFC/KP atmosphere. Went back to work in Dec/Jan 2014/15 (Halfway thro a ST and season) and missed many games that my ST just didn't seem to get used as much as I'd paid for. Didn't renew this year and miss it massively but just could not justify the £ I would have forked out for another ST, only to make a small handful of games.
trabuch Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Live on the South coast now. I miss it, I just can't justify a season ticket. But I still feel a part of it. Since I was 7 Leicester have been my club, and they always will be.. even if I have gone a bit plastic. I am so happy for the better fans than me for the current situation.
Richard Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Was that the 5-3? I was trying to construct a bed at the time. Had to give it a rest for the afternoon. The mistake was having the radio on.That's the one, beckford scored for them I rememberFantastic game even GTF managed to score!
FoxCal Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 You think Wycombe is bad mate, try living in Aylesbury. I'm your very poor neighbor I'm in my third year and the furthest I've ventured is Mickelfield where I lived last year.. That was a bigger mistake than coming to Wycombe in the first place! Haha*I tell a lie, a couple of weeks after I moved down here I got the wrong bus and ended up in Penn about eight in the evening in the middle of October. So if you think about it, I'm pretty well travelled around here.
FoxonMaui Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Last game I saw live was away at Barnsley during the Sven debacle. I was back in the UK to visit my elderly parents who now live in Somerset. 1-1 if I remember right, we were awful. Remember being excited driving up and was surprised to see the away end almost full. It had Been over a decade prior to that. Was a regular back in the late sixties and early seventies, so got to enjoy the Weller , Worthington, Birch, Nish, Shilton era etc. As a teenager used to sell programs outside the filbert street end and then get in for free. Travelled to many away games on my motorbike. Will never forget the 69 FA Cup semi , the only way my dad and I could get tickets was for friend to get us tickets in the away end. When Clarke scored the winner we could not celebrate!! Now I am on Maui and thanks to NBC I get to see all the city games live on TV, but I would love to be there at the KP. My wife and I have a agreed that we will fly over in the spring to see a game live. That means about 17 hours in the air, each way but it will be worth it. Any suggestions on how to get tickets would be appreciated. Off back out to the beach, tough assignment living here, but I guess someone has to do it........
Guest Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 I live in San Francisco now. It's gutting not being able to go to games, away days were my favourite thing. I bet living in SF really takes the sting out of it though With family commitments and the shifts that I do I don't make quite as many as I used to (up until about a year ago I was only missing about 4 games in total a season inc away) but I let my mates use my ST when I can't go so at least other city fans are getting use from it
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Anyone seen the film IT? I'm like Mike Hanlon...I stayed in my home town whilst others moved away. Ive been a ST holder for donkeys years and must have given fortunes to my beloved club. One of the reasons I get so pissed when I get called not a 'real fan' or some other such utter nonsense. The only time I didn't have a season ticket was when I was at Uni..and still went to St James Park, Ayrsome Park and Roker Park to watch us then too.

I am lucky enough to live in Naphill and have been making the trip through Aylesbury up to Buckingham, Towester, Northampton and on to Leicester since 1979.

Through normal channels I'd say your chances are pretty slim but if you contact the club in plenty of time i am sure they would sort you out some tickets considering your situation and miles travelled, plus your an ex employee.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Have been a season ticket holder previously and a member for the bulk of the last 30 years. Family commitments and a dodgy 24/7 shift job have right royally ****ed me over for the last 13 years Got to 1 game all last season (Hull City home 0-0 draw ) Got tickets for Man City at home this season (will probably be only game of season unless I'm lucky)
The Year Of The Fox Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 Voluntarily gave up my season ticket for this season and tbh, despite our run I don't really miss it!
AyewJoking Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 had a season ticket from the first season in the walkers bowl up to the relegation to league one so some pretty grim times to remember. if i had the money and time i would still love to go but as long as we are flying in the premier league and getting plenty of exposure in the media it is ok, last game i went to was qpr final game of last season. it was also cambiasso's last ever premier league game, nigel pearson's last ever premier league game and qpr's last ever premier league game.
cheshamfox17 Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 I've always lived relatively far from Leicester (Chesham which is about 30 north of London, but my dad is from Leicester hence my support) so I only used to be able to go when my dad was willing to drive because it was so expensive but when I got a bit older (I'm 23 now) I went home and often away for a while since I could get the train or drive and stay with my grandma. But now I've moved to Sweden to do a masters and its an absolute killer I miss it so much. Will be going to Liverpool away though on boxing day which I'm really looking forward to. Though I went on a run last season where I went to 16 games without us winning, I missed the Hull away and the Villa home game, so to be honest I put our current run down to me not going.
Rincewind Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 Used to be a regular in the 70's onwards when it was easier to pay at the turnstile but never a ST holder. Think it was about a couple of quid if that. Saw the odd game at the Walkers but sort of stopped at the best time (MON) Just find it expensive now with cheapest seat around £30 and having to book well ahead. At Filbert Street it used to be the double decker and at least I got to see the likes of Wortho Weller Birchinall play during the Bloomfield years. I was a member early noughties. I found my membership card the other day and I still get the occasional email from the club.I have been happy enough watching highlights the occasional TV live game and listening to the radio over recent years although this season would be a good time to see them live. I'm not sure my heart could cope at my age. Going into a game against Chelsea and being hopeful of at least a point is a strange feeling but a satisfying one.
AndWhat? Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 Voluntarily gave up my season ticket for this season and tbh, despite our run I don't really miss it! Yeah keep telling yourself that!
MPH Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 I don't get to see my beloved Leicester week in week out anymore like I used to, and I'm missing it like crazy at the moment. I went religiously between 1985 and 2001 and then my life changed and I moved away with work and had a young family etc. Since then I get to the odd game, but it's not the same. I follow us from a distance and watch every game on a dodgy stream, but nothing beats actually being there. For those of you with a ST and who love going away, I envy you and hope you're having the time of your lives right now. What's happening at the moment is truly incredible and I hope those of you going every week really savour this special time. Any other saddos out there like me? I am 100% totally with you. It still hurts now even though i have lived in the states for nearly 6 years.... Its that dodgy smell of the east stand .. the crazy scenes in the cop when we scored me having a go at those thinking they are clever and used to leave early ( even when we are winning!) I still get mad at the TV now when i see that! The problem for me is of course that the East U.S are 5 hours behind GMT. However my wife has learnt not to bother planning to include me in anything from 10 am- 12 pm on a saturday. The trouble is of course, a day like today when the match will be happening and i will have patients to see. I have tried to fit my schedule round it but no luck at all....
ramaiya2 Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 Used to go to about 4 to 5 games a season when we were in the Championship, Now that we are in the premiership can't even get a look in for tickets. Tried to get a ticket for the match tonight but they were sold out. Come on you foxes
bovril Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 Voluntarily gave up my season ticket for this season and tbh, despite our run I don't really miss it! Why, may I ask?
M0901 Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 Went to our first ever match at KP (Well, Walkers Bowl/Stadium) in that 1-1 draw against Bilbao (Jordan Stewart 90tth minute equaliser?) Had a season ticket in 02/03, 03/04 and 07/08 University then deprived me of going (studies/financial downfall) Can't go too much anymore due to demand, but I definitely miss it, even through the god awful times this club has had Always nice to know there are many supporters here who seem to have stuck with them through thick and thin Hopefully we have just rewards come May!

Good work from your old man to keep you as a Leicester fan despite living in Chesham and us being shit during your childhood years.
AlphaMaleFox Posted 14 December 2015 Posted 14 December 2015 Voluntarily gave up my season ticket for this season and tbh, despite our run I don't really miss it! Yeah keep telling yourself that! Why, may I ask? Not renewing. Being in the PL is the pinnacle which we've reached. You only have to look at how well Southampton have improved this season yet they're still falling short of a European spot. You won't beat beating United at home in the manner we did so nothing next season will replicate that.
