sdb Posted 19 December 2015 Posted 19 December 2015 Vardy would be silly to go, everything is perfect for him right now - the creative team who play on the break, guaranteed starter, club that value him. I'd like to think we'd reject anything under £20-25 mill. Mahrez clearly has the talent to play at a massive club. If we don't get into Europe then we'll struggle to keep him in the summer, but £35-40 million surely now. Probably more although I just cannot ever imagine a Leicester player going for that! Kante I also think will be a CL player in time. Hopefully with us obviously! He's worth somewhere in the region of the other two I feel. In short, let's just pray we can offer them Europe next season...!!!

It also looks as if they're playing for a team that has a chance of winning the league, if their wage demands are met, why would they leave for Chelsea or Man Utd? Chelsea will not get Champions League football next season.

There really would be no point selling in Jan if we are ever going to go anywhere as a club. This is the best chance we have ever had in the premier league to Win it and/or get in to Europe. We need to go forwards not backwards. Both might leave, but it won't be in Jan. There's already a petition for a Vardy statue. Personally I think that's a bit premature but if he was in the side that won the league title then it's set in stone, pun intended. Liking the rumours about de jong, won the title before so would be good to have around. Having said that most of our side won the championship I know it's nothing like the prem but they have won a league. Instead of selling buy de jong make a big bid for Pato and a RB give vardy and mahrez an improved contract. Go out and try and win the title this year

They are arguably both worth more in January as they will be available to Champions League sides unlike players from other top sides who will have already played in Europe. If, and I hope we do, we keep hold of them then failure to qualify for Europe will probably reduce their value in the summer and make them keener to move on. However looking around the Spanish clubs aren't that flushed with cash I've heard, I doubt Bayern will go for them, Italian clubs can't afford them so that leaves PSG and the 3 English sides who may try. I'm discounting Europa league sides as none in this country are stand out Champions League qualifiers for next season. Arsenal won't stump up the cash, Man City seem to have reigned it in a bit in terms of numbers through the doors but are an option and Chelsea would be a gamble by the players as all likelihood they won't qualify for Champions League next year. This leaves PSG and whom may well be the biggest threat for Mahrez leaving despite his interview yesterday on French to. Personally I'd take the gamble, tell suitors where to go and try our best to qualify for the Champions League but let them know we will be fair to them in the summer and if we don't qualify we will consider fair bids for their services. Interesting 5 or so weeks ahead.

I see what you mean but the situation is slightly different. Those players left in the summer and Southampton were doing well but hadn't qualified for the Champions League. We can actually attempt to qualify for the Champions League. For Chelsea, it's not going to happen this year. So Vardy and Mahrez will definitely not go there in Jan (unless Vardy fancies 15 mins over a 2-legged tie against PSG before they get knocked out). Spurs and Man Utd have as good a chance as we do, so I don't think they would go there in Jan either. This is aside from the fact that Ranieri has stated that they will not be sold. The summer may be a different matter if we fall out of the top 4. But for now, I'm confident they're staying put.

If either of them wanted to go though, a minimum of £25,000,000 for Vardy (market value for a 28 year old Englishman who scores for fun). Mahrez if we dont get at least £40,000,000 for him I'll cry. Could do with a bidding war between Real and Barcelona.

Doesn't matter how much they are worth to be honest, 79 mill profit off two players is serious business. Reports are that we will turn down a 41million euros bid for Mahrez from Spurs and United according to the French press.
