ramboacdc Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 if a riddiculous bid came in for vardy/mahrez/both of them. what amount would you hope for us to accept? if Liverpool got 50m for an out of form torres we could be looking at huge bids.
goose2010 Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 40m for Mahrez 30m for Vardy nothing less. I don't think the club could turn them kind of offers down unfortunately
kingcarr21 Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 I think the club would turn down those sorts of offers. We are on the verge of doing something that not a single person in the world could have imagined. You look at Everton and John Stones. They dug deep and said he was going nowhere. I don't think either Vardy or Mahrez would want to leave anyway. Maybe in the summer but not January. Surely they will want to finish what they started and see how far we can go this season. Vardy is scoring goals and will most certainly go to the Euros if he stays at Leicester. I would worry his goals would dry up at another club. Mahrez is only 24 and has many more years left in his career. A big club will come in for him at some point. I reckon he will stay for the season and see what happens. Expect him to go to a European giant in the summer though. Saying that though money talks. Vardy and Mahrez may decide they want to leave in January for bigger wages. Im actually dreading the January window.
4ever and ever Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 I dont think the club would accept a bid unless it was utterly ridiculous and I am talking £60 million +. They are ambitious and what we have to consider is to replace those players is very very tough for us as we dont have the draw to attract the top talent in world football and that is all that could replace these guys. So in effect the money becomes irrelevant.
Gerard Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 40m for Mahrez 30m for Vardy nothing less. I don't think the club could turn them kind of offers down unfortunately The club could and would easily turn down those offers. £100m+ TV deal next season and top of the table and 9pts clear for a Champions League spot. How depressing if they couldn't get Mahrez through the door quick enough for a paltry £40m. We may as well pack it it if we're going to do that as we will go nowhere as a club. We have a huge chance to finish in the CL places or even win the league and that could propel us up to a genuine year in year out top seven side with the better quality of player we are now able to attract.
dylanlegend Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Looking at Utd forum they reckon they'll get Mahrez in January for £20millon.... Hahaha
Gerard Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Looking at Utd forum they reckon they'll get Mahrez in January for £20millon.... Hahaha Wankers. If he played like this for a club like Tottenham they wouldn't be saying that. They paid £25m for Depay, is Mahrez not worth as much? We've been linked with Breel Embolo for £20m, would we swap him for Mahrez?
Jon the Hat Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 No one will pay enough for Vardy at 28 to make it even slightly worth selling him, and I am sure we can convince him to stay with a pay rise and the prospect of the Euros & European football. With Mahrez on the other hand, the issue might well be him wanting to leave. If Arsenal say came in for him it could be his big chance to make a top level career, and then it would be a case of getting the maximum for him. This wont happen in Jan though, much more likely the summer. Given Ozil cost what £40M plus I would think £30Mplus would be attractive.

Will1981 Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 wouldn't take less than £80m for Mahrez he is twice the player that Bale was when he left Spurs. Vardy is priceless and irreplaceable.
Finnegan Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Wouldn't sell them in January for anything. Neither will the owners. End of.
LCCFox96 Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Claudio and the owners won't be selling either this window. They are too valuable to our style of play. Claudio has talked about price and their value to us would exceed 99% of teams budgets. They aren't really attainable for anyone. I know talk can be cheap in football but both players have also come out and basically said they want to stay and quite frankly, in our current situation, I don't see why we shouldn't believe them. In the long term I think Vardy will stay with us but you get the impression that Mahrez is eventually destined for bigger and better things. He is genuinely good enough to play for Barcelona/Real Madrid etc and he will want that opportunity soon enough.
ScouseFox Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 just dont sell. simple. no way are we getting anyone as good as either of them in january full stop, let alone for a decent price. january should be for buying for the big clubs, not selling.
Babylon Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Wouldn't sell them in January for anything. Neither will the owners. End of. Indeed... going nowhere.
Webbo Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Mahrez is in the papers today saying he's not leaving in January, I think Vardy h as said something similar. No need to worry until June.
FireFox Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 I wouldn't swap Vardy and Mahrez for Ronaldo and Messi.
RJ75 Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Not a player in the world I'd want instead of Mahrez/Vardy at the minute!
MPH Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 40m for Mahrez 30m for Vardy nothing less. I don't think the club could turn them kind of offers down unfortunately All depends whats most important to the owners - strengthening the king power brand or breaking even....
MPH Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 When you consider Kramaric cost us what 9 million? its hars to put a value on them both in comparison to that...
Babylon Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 All depends whats most important to the owners - strengthening the king power brand or breaking even.... I think we'll be doing that without selling players. The kudos they must have at home at the moment must be unreal for them.
Dan Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Vardy won't leave us simply due to the situation. I don't think he'll try and force a move, we don't need to sell, he's worth more to us than any other club (money wise) and he's 28 years old, 29 in January. There are too many things stopping it happening. Mahrez is different but I'm not even that worried about losing him in January. He's got a good head on his shoulders.
ajthefox Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 I don't think we'll sell either in Jan, but a few comments in here are mad. Mahrez is in the form of his life, but you don't spend £80 million on someone who has been on this form for 25 games tops. Anyone reading that from another forum will be howling. There is a difference between someone being invaluable for us over the season, and being so expensive for someone to buy that they have to pay a world record fee.
CharlieCharles Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Im sure the staff working on finance will have worked out what will provide more profits, keeping Mahrez and Vardy and aim to get champions league place, or cash in on them and our top 4 chances to dissolve. At the end of the day its what is more profitable to Leicester, as it is a business.

Personally, there's a massive difference between a winger being in form and consistently showing the ability to ghost through three or four players regardless of the team with some top grade crosses and finished to boot as well. On top of that the inflated market only compounds a stupid asking price.
Spudulike Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Liverpool are probably still preparing an £8m bid.
