Klopp will come good, probably take 12-18 months to see the results of what he will be trying to achieve though. Keep knocking one out over Tony Pulis and his solid premier league management though.

That's the thing, normal people don't "knock one out" over managers because it's weird but euro football hipsters actually do

lets be honest bayern munich have only played two tough games in the last 2 seasons, both champions league semi finals vs madrid and barcelona and have lost on aggregate 0-5 and 3-5 (and the 3 only came because barca had already given up cos they were through). pretty embarrassing. even man city did them in the champions league last year.

Can't stand euro football hipsters so it's nice that their favourites keep failing in the premier league.

I think Guardiola will have his pants well and truly pulled down if he comes here. Cliché or not, tiki tokka or whatever isn't going to work on a metaphorical cold Tuesday night in Stoke.

Next season especially when everyone will be trying to emulate Leicester's title winning style of play with pace and strength on the break. Guardiola will struggle to even keep up with the play.

Says it all that Klopp was supposed to bring this ferocious gaygaypressing but his Liverpool team look like one of the most timid in the country.

The euro trash is all over rated.

When was the last time an English manager won the league?

Why do English people resent success?

No matter what anyone says about the legitimacy of Pep Guardiola's reputation, I'd find it quite unlikely that he would "struggle" given his managerial abilities and the resources he'd have available at Man City.

If the move comes off, as expected, why not give him at least a tiny bit of credit for staking his reputation on a chance to have success in three top leagues, each with its idiosyncrasies?

You can't even say it's about the money; he could go to something like PSG, Qatar, or NYCFC and make the same money.

Get him in the prem and we will see what he is made of, its made mince meat of some of the best managers in the world.

Jose Mourinho, Roberto Mancini, Carlo Ancelotti, and Manuel Pellegrini have all recently won the Premier League.

The Premier League makes mince meat of British managers. Six British managers have been sacked since the end of last season.

Klopp took over a mediocre side. Granted he's done little with it but I think he will eventually come good.

The players Klopp currently has are poor. Did Rodgers actually buy a World Class player? (Actually, I forgot about Coutinho).

I'm waiting to see how Liverpool are next season under Klopp when he's had a summer to get rid of rubbish and bring in players. I think he will do well at Liverpool, whether that's winning a domestic trophy or getting them into the Champions League again. I think they're a few season off winning the league though.

lol Fair point.

Not sure how Klopp is hipster though? He's one of the most well known manager's in the game. It's not like he's some guy who's taken an Azerbaijani village team from step 6 to step 1 and won the national league.

Wait a minute- I'm just feeding the troll here aren't I? You got me.

Quite how anyone can question the credits also of Pep is beyond me

He doesn't just play tiki taka (plus he never did, the term tiki taka was originally an insult), here's the man himself saying as much

"I loathe all that passing for the sake of it, all that tiki-taka. It's so much rubbish and has no purpose. You have to pass the ball with a clear intention, with the aim of making it into the opposition's goal. It's not about passing for the sake of it."

The following day, he expands on this message in a meeting with his players.

"Be yourselves. You need to dig into your own DNA. I hate tiki-taka. Tiki-taka means passing the ball for the sake of it, with no clear intention. And it's pointless.

"Don't believe what people say. Barça didn't do tiki-taka! It's completely made up! Don't believe a word of it! In all team sports, the secret is to overload one side of the pitch so that the opponent must tilt its own defence to cope. You overload on one side and draw them in so that they leave the other side weak.

"And when we've done all that, we attack and score from the other side. That's why you have to pass the ball, but only if you're doing it with a clear intention. It's only to overload the opponent, to draw them in and then to hit them with the sucker punch. That's what our game needs to be. Nothing to do with tiki-taka."

Yeah but until you've got the Drum and Monkey out of the North North West Northamptonshire league Divison 3 and into Europe, you haven't REALLY managed anything in football have you, my gold fish could win the league with Bayern.

I agree with the sentiment that if and when he comes here, that'll prove whether he's a world-class manager.

Winning domestic titles with Bayern and Barcelona impresses nobody.

I don't resent success at all, in fact my entire enjoyment at seeing these "super-managers" fail is a celebration of the success of the premier league.

I've no problem with foreign managers being successful either, I just enjoy seeing these massively overhyped supposedly elite band of managers being brought down a peg or two when they can't repeat their success here.
