Does anyone know if he is a city fan?

Or if he grew up supporting Arsenal / Liverpool or whoever as that might have a bearing on his thoughts

That said surely he will have a better chance with us anyway?

And along those lines has he ever said anything about LCFC or being happy here,  or thanking the club for helping with his development ....   or wanting to be part of the future here ...    anything ffs ! .....    I know salary may be an issue but it would be nice if he said something.     Has anyone heard any quotes ? ..   cus I haven't  ....

Ummmm - I reckon the lad's best keeping quiet and just getting on with doing his job the best he can.

It's not well received for anyone at any club to air internal matters through outside agencies.

Just saying   "I am happy at Leicester City"  isn't really airing internal matters ...   and I doubt whether he would get in trouble or it would affect his future.

It seems none of us have a clue what's going on and could all just be paper talk. IF he's been offered £2500 a week without ever playing a league game for us then he should take it, that's fantastic money for someone still really classed as an apprentice.

That might be fine if he didn't know that some of the biggest clubs in the country were interested. We'll have to do better than £2.5k a week to keep hold of him, I think.

And if he prefers to leave his options open?

Fair enough if he's trying to get the best deal for himself imo. I'd likely do the same, especially in regard to salary.

If we keep up like this, however, I'd see little reason for him leaving. Just wait and see. Wish I'd get sorted soonish though.

I spent the day yesterday with my arsenal supporting mate.

He said "Tell me about this Chiswell player".

I told him to come back to me when he learns his name. And my mate is actually someone who has decent knowledge of the game.

He should definitely stay here where he is valued by the fans and people know his name!

Chilwell won't get a sniff in Liverpool's side. Would rather him stay here and learn from Fuchs, and hopefully be given a chance. Ranieri obviously rates him. Hope he doesn't do a Mattock on us.

Ha yeah....do you mean punch a woman and end up playing for Rotherham?

Personally think it's a bit insulting to pretty much insinuate Someone will be a future star and then only offer him 2.5k a week. In football terms that's pittance...

Too true but really think how mental football's become when a 19 year old kid who has played 3 senior games could be on thousands of pounds a week. Plumbers , firemen, etc must be sick to their stomach and wonder why they bother.

His options are open and he, (and his agent), will do what they consider best for his future ...      but it would be nice if he said something (anything !), complimentary about the club who employ him and have helped his development.     All I'm saying Thrac is that I find the fact he says nothing slightly insulting and mercenary.

I agree, but then there aren't millions of people around the globe willing to pay good money to watch plumbers or firemen do their job.

You could also say the same about actors, musicians, artists, etc. The vast majority of footballers, actors, etc. never make decent money. We are talking about the lucky few.

There's nothing to stop a plumber or fireman being a footballer if they have the ability.

He's being entirely sensible and has insulted no-one.

He's getting on with his job and we'll doubtless learn about his future when any decision is made, which is exactly how it should be.

Insulting to offer a kid with virtually no first-team experience and absolutely no top-level experience 2.5K a week. You are talking complete nonsense.

To offer a kid who may or may not fulfill his potential any or much more would be poor financial management. Earn a regular first-team starting place and then maybe he'd be entitled to a bigger contract.

Offering him more is exactly what's wrong with football in this country at the minute. Players earning tens of thousands of pounds before they've even had a sniff of the first team. And the clubs with the money will be offering these contracts to take these youngsters from teams without that financial clout but where they are more likely to get a first team chance. They move for a big contract, never play and end up wasting in the reserves, but won't move because they'll have to take a pay cut. Think Patrick Roberts moving from Fulham to Man City. Hasn't featured for City yet, is going to Celtic on loan for 18 months I read. He'd probably have 50 championship appearance under his belt for Fulham by now, invaluable experience.

And we wonder why our national team struggles.

If he's this much of a whiny un loyal bitch sell him to Arsenal with addins. Use the extra dish to get Musa.

I do love a well considered, constructive comment.

He's playing us for a better contract or thinks the grass is greener. Either way he isn't showing the loyalty and commitment the rest of the squad are.

Stick a new contract in front of him and if he signs then great. If he doesn't want to sign then sell him now and use that money on bringing others in. Simple.

I must be missing something here !!

Chilwell has his head down & is playing good football.. He hasn't turned down any contact offers to my knowledge & all we have to go on is the asswipe Mirror printing its usual supply of garbage. Lets wait until we hear some real news before we start slamming the kid
