Stevosevic Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 4m to Liverpool? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/12073323/Liverpool-transfer-news-Jurgen-Klopp-targets-4m-bid-for-wonderkid-Ben-Chilwell.html
lgfualol Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 If he goes to Liverpool he'll just be playing in the championship on loan again next season
Devonfox1884 Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 If he goes to Liverpool he'll just be playing in the championship on loan again next season Probably true. Would he not just be a deputy to Fuchs here though? The decision to stay or leave at the end of the season will have a massive impact on his future career. Not sure which option is best for him, Liverpool and Klopp like giving younger players a chance.

Would rather him stay here and learn from Fuchs, and hopefully be given a chance. Ranieri obviously rates him. Hope he doesn't do a Mattock on us.
DeclanMC Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 From everything I've read about Chilwell, he seems to have a very intelligent outlook on his career. I'm sure he'll make the right decision for himself, and we've got to make sure that we're involved!
NoFuchsGiven Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Really wouldn't want to sell, great future prospect
Thracian Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 I've not seen him play, but if he's as good as Fuchs and has some attacking capability then it's a no brainer. We talk about improving our team and that's one aspect we need to improve dramatically on both sides - having full-backs who can attack as well as defend. Right now we might have scored fairly freely but we don't have anything like enough scoring options when Vardy and Mahrez are neutralised.
Will1981 Posted 30 December 2015 Posted 30 December 2015 we need to keep him for next season if we qualify for europe as the 25 man european squad needs to have 4 home grown players in it, we currently only have King, Schlupp and Moore.

Tielemans63 Posted 31 December 2015 Posted 31 December 2015 Apparently the Huddersfield manager, David Wagner is Klopps old number 2 and has recommended Chilwell to Liverpool. That would be okay if he was a Huddersfield player but he isn't. To me that seems a bit bloody cheeky to take a guy ON LOAN from one club and tout him to another. If that's true then Claudio should be on the phone to recall Chilwell and to tell Wagner where to go.

Id imagine its pretty common practice in the game tbf, he is playing in the championship, he isnt exactly a secret.

MPH Posted 31 December 2015 Posted 31 December 2015 It could simply be that klopp asked how that young lad is getting on as he's heard good things about him..,

mozartfox Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 Ah the Metro. That well informed London Freebee. I hope this is crap. Do we have to sell???
Webbo Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 Why go to Arsenal to go out on loan when he can go out on loan here? He's less likely to make their first team than ours, unless it's just money it doesn't make sense.
surrifox Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 so according to the report we rejected a £3.5 million bid in the summer and so they have returned with a bid of £2.5 million ! (plus add ons) we are joint premiership leaders if they want to sign our players we should be demanding a Luke Shaw or Lallana sized fee . Looks like Spurs aren't the only nickel and dime dealers in the transfer market. Arsenal are loaded and we should be demanding a fee of £7 or 8 million
dpjfox Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 Rumours seem to be increasing, but selling our best prospect would send out the wrong signals, we need to get him back from Huddersfield, give him a contract and put himin the first team squad as cover for Fuchs at least till Schlupps fit,oh and tell interested parties we are no longer a "selling club"
Cropwellfox Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 Would be a shame, if he does go - hopefully he doesn't become one of the increasing number of English prospects who find themselves loaned out to a succession of clubs and never hit the level they've supposedly been able to. Staying at a 'less glamorous' club and getting regular game time before looking for a move seems to be a better route to the top of the game ie Stones, Henderson rather than legging it the first chance you get.
