ARM1968 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Agreed. My post was based more on the ass wipe mirror. I hope we keep the lad. He looks quality. Hence Whingers interest.
dannythefox Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Chilwell hasn't done anything wrong and personally if Fuchs gets injured he will play. The lads coming on fine I like him and I don't think he'll leave, he won't play for Arsenal anyway look a what's happened to chambers. His development is better here he's close to playing first team football. At Arsenal he's know where near.
Jimothy Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Agreed. My post was based more on the ass wipe mirror. I hope we keep the lad. He looks quality. Hence Whingers interest. Well it wasn't, you were slamming the lad, never mentioned the mirror once.
Thracian Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Before anyone lambasts any of our youngsters for thinking about how best to build their career in football, maybe Leicester City needs to consider its success rate in bringing Academy players through to the first team over the last, say, 10 years. Considering the breadth of our talent-spotting network, our incredible facilities, all the expertise at our disposal and the number of Academy students we've taken on over the years I'd say our achievements have been disappointing. Percentage-wise, very few have established themselves in the first team whether at Championship or Premiership level - and there's not many who've gone elsewhere to play at such a level either. Chilwell needs to carefully weigh up his best option. Loyalty doesn't come into it. Neither "loyalty" nor sentiment stops the club waving goodbye to countless kids every year if they're considered not good enough. Although I do accept that they try hard to help, prepare and place them on the road most suited to them if they can. But, bottom line, is that the club has to look after its own interests just the same as emerging players however much they might "like" someone. And when a youngster like Chilwell finds himself lucky enough to have attractive options, he can hardly be blamed for doing the best for himself just like the club would. Any loyalty - whether from club or player - is a bonus not something anyone should ever take for granted or assume. Hell, people change their partners or their own jobs often enough. Why the hypocrisy over footballers changing clubs if they believe it's the best thing to do?
Countryfox Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Loyalty doesn't come into it. Loyalty was, is, and always will be important to me.
Thracian Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Loyalty was, is, and always will be important to me. Ummmmm, it's usually a two-way thing but, as I said, should never be assumed or taken for granted.
Steven Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Ummmmm, it's usually a two-way thing but, as I said, should never be assumed or taken for granted. Loyalty is like a girdle; it stretches both ways.
GaelicFox Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 It seems none of us have a clue what's going on and could all just be paper talk. IF he's been offered £2500 a week without ever playing a league game for us then he should take it, that's fantastic money for someone still really classed as an apprentice. There are players at Arsenal on 20k a week don't even train with first team!
GaelicFox Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 Personally think it's a bit insulting to pretty much insinuate Someone will be a future star and then only offer him 2.5k a week. In football terms that's pittance... Totally agree
GaelicFox Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 Offering him more is exactly what's wrong with football in this country at the minute. Players earning tens of thousands of pounds before they've even had a sniff of the first team. And the clubs with the money will be offering these contracts to take these youngsters from teams without that financial clout but where they are more likely to get a first team chance. They move for a big contract, never play and end up wasting in the reserves, but won't move because they'll have to take a pay cut. Think Patrick Roberts moving from Fulham to Man City. Hasn't featured for City yet, is going to Celtic on loan for 18 months I read. He'd probably have 50 championship appearance under his belt for Fulham by now, invaluable experience. And we wonder why our national team struggles. Can't stop that and Fifpro ruling when it comes will change it all forever
what? Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Wenger 99% certain they won't be signing anyone today apparently. Looks like we've held on.

ramboacdc Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 mirror saying he may be going back huddersfield on loan.
volpeazzurro Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Ummmmm, it's usually a two-way thing but, as I said, should never be assumed or taken for granted. I think your original post is quite correct. There is a difference in loyalty as a supporter and loyalty in a person who is looking at options that may effect their future career. My 15yr old son and I are both blue through and through season ticket holders. He is also attending a football development school 4 days a week (not Leicester). In the very rare event he should ever be fortunate to be in Chilwell s situation, as his Dad, and together with professional advice, all options would be looked at with my son's interest coming first regardless of who has been responsible for bringing him through. I sincerely hope that young Chilwell stays with us, but it's down to Leicester to offer what is considered the right package. From a sentimental parents point of view however, I'm sure we'd all like to see our son running onto the KP turf. Though I think I'd struggle with some of the comments made towards our young players on this site if he did, the pressure of a debut must be frightening to say the least.
Ric Flair Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Poor decision, I want him on the bench for us!
davieG Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Huddersfield are hoping to pull of a coup with the re-capture of Leicester starlet Ben Chilwell on loan for the remainder of the season. The youngster has been subject to interest from other Premier League sides including Arsenal and Tottenham but Leicester are determined to keep hold of the 19-year-old.Chilwell made a total of 8 appearances and to much rave reviews during his initial loan spell with the Terriers before returning to the Foxes in January. The teenager would be welcomed back with open arms with Jason Davidson dividing opinion and James Husband having failed to make an impression having joined on an initial months loan from Middlesborough. thybluefox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I'm not too disappointed with that, as long as it'd be possible for us to recall him if needed? Keeps him playing and learning while still supplying, albeit not immediate, cover for Fuchs.
NewEnglandFox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 According to the DM, we're expected to offer Ben £12000/week and he'll be back on loan to Huddersfield soon.
UPinCarolina Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 According to the DM, we're expected to offer Ben £12000/week and he'll be back on loan to Huddersfield soon. Something good did come out of Deadline Day then! I like that we're securing the future. Hopefully he has a recall clause, as our defense is looking a little empty in the back with De Laet out on loan.
teblin Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 I'd have thought he'll be here until Jeff is fit.
thybluefox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 I'd have thought he'll be here until Jeff is fit. Chilwell is already twice the left back that Jeff will ever be.
FireFox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Chilwell is already twice the left back that Jeff will ever be.Chilwell doesn't make a good impact sub though. He can't sit on our bench, or not even make it. He needs regular game time as a starter.

Jeff's a good impact sub because he's got pace going forward - I know I wouldn't want to rely on him for a couple of games if Fuch's gets a knock though.
