The Doctor Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Express quoting the mail saying Arsenal have asked about him. No idea where they've got bid accepted from when the original source doesn't even mention a bid.
Ric Flair Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 If we've accepted a £5 million bid then I'd be astounded, just doesn't make sense.
NewquayFox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Usual newspaper bullcrap..... Up the Titty......
Long Eaton Fox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 He's not ready for our first team yet. Good cameo's but needs another year or so to develop physically to be ready for the prem.
dylanlegend Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 So players like Callum Chambers go for £16mill, Luke Shaw £30mill. Why does it seem we get so little for our promising players?
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 I'm starting a protest outside the ground if we've accepted £5m for this lad
nnfox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 I'd be amazed if we sell, Claudio clearly rates him very highly. On the other hand... £5M would be an incredible return on investment considering he hasn't played a premier league game, is unproven and like so many unproven players of his age, could be great but could also fade away. Football brain says "keep", business brain says "give it some thought before saying no"

They were both Premier League first-team regulars. Chilwell is not I'm starting a protest outside the ground if we've accepted £5m for this lad Have fun on your own

Football brain says "keep", business brain says "give it some thought before saying no" Exactly. There is no way the club will sell for 5m. I bet the academy staff would be gutted to see the time and effort of a genuine potential star go for that little. We aren't a championship side where that 5m will buy several players. And by the time Fuchs is ready to move on we would have to spend double that to pick up a quality LB especially if the club continues on this upward trajectory. By that time he will have improved no end and be the class player we all hope from the little we have seen.
Thracian Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I see no reason the story wouldn't be true. If (and it's a big if) Chilwell's indicated that he won't sign a new contract and has only a year and a bit to go on his current one, Leicester aren't going to get a lot more even if they find the chance to play the lad at some stage towards the end of the season, which doesn't seem guaranteed giving the likely importance of the games.
Richard Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Surely the fact arsenal have bid £5m means that he'll go for at least that via tribunal as it's based (partially) on estimated value? Isn't that why Liverpool still haven't agreed the Ings fee
Thracian Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Surely the fact arsenal have bid £5m means that he'll go for at least that via tribunal as it's based (partially) on estimated value? Isn't that why Liverpool still haven't agreed the Ings fee He won't improve his estimated value much without games and it's hard to imagine him ousting Fuchs just yet. In which case why would we seek to keep a player of his age if he wants to move and doesn't want a new contract?
Foxxed Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 How do we know he doesn't want to sign a new contact?
FireFox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 How do we know he doesn't want to sign a new contact?Because he is on 800 a week.
davieG Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 If he's got a year plus on his contract there's no reason why we would let him go in this window especially with Schlupp injured we'd have no cover and little chance of a replacement not for less than £5 mill now people know who we are and where we sit in the league
chicagofox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Because he is on 800 a week. Even more reason to sign a new and improved contract then.
thybluefox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Even more reason to sign a new and improved contract then. He's been offered a better one already. £2,500/week I believe.
Foxxed Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Oh right, now I remember. He's either not signing the new contract (if he's definably been offered a new one as yet), because he either wants to go to another club, or because he's trying to get Arsenal to up his wages here. I can't really see him getting a better gig at Arsenal, unless he's more confident of getting in the team there and wants to train with Arsenal's players. It's at least possible.
UPinCarolina Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 He's been offered a better one already. £2,500/week I believe. About time.
Adster Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I really wouldn't trust the Express. It's one of the most garbage sources around.
ramboacdc Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 £4m bid by arsenal http://www.footballinsider247.com/arsenal-make-bid-for-leicester-teenager-chilwell/?
Steven Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 £4m bid by arsenal http://www.footballinsider247.com/arsenal-make-bid-for-leicester-teenager-chilwell/? I hope the Club recognise this insult.
hackneyfox Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 He's been offered a better one already. £2,500/week I believe. You know this how?
