eye666 Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 £4m bid by arsenal http://www.footballinsider247.com/arsenal-make-bid-for-leicester-teenager-chilwell/? Think Arsene needs to have a look at how much other teenage left-backs have been going for. Luke Shaw cost £30m. Not saying Chilwell is in the same league (simply haven't seen him play enough games), but £4m for a potential future England player (as has been touted) is laughable.
Nuge Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 You know this how? He's an ITK mate. Heard it from Ranieris' cleaners' dog walker apparently. Amazing what info you can find out.

Will1981 Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 £4m bid by arsenal http://www.footballinsider247.com/arsenal-make-bid-for-leicester-teenager-chilwell/? £4m plus Gibbs would be fairer
thybluefox Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 You know this how? Believe me or don't believe me, I really don't mind either way. I know a little info, I don't claim to be "ITK" but I knew a little about this and thought I'd share. If a mod wants to PM me for a source then I'll say, though I don't know why it matters particularly.

Only a very limited number of people would have knowledge of salaries so they are risking their jobs blabbing numbers. Between the ITKs on this board we must know every players salary, or not.

Jeff Schlupp is paid 2 magic beans a week. From my source close to the club, can't scupper the supper by revealing his name though, send me a private message if the mods really need to know.

It's a fair point, I never believe someone 100% when they post something like that either. All I'll say is that these players don't spend 100% of their time at the club, other people are involved in their lives that would therefore be in a position to know things like that.
deep blue Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 I hope the Club recognise this insult. A counter bid of 2 mill (Euros) for Ozil would make the point.
GaelicFox Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 He's been offered a better one already. £2,500/week I believe. Not enough ! Arsenal will give him 10k easily

Legal and secretarial support I was in a pub one night last year and we were all having a good look at a certain players contract ! An admin support staff had printed off and passed to a friend I was shocked at how little they were being paid relative to Premier league standards These things easily get out
dazpearce1973 Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 I would be very annoyed if we sell him especially for that figure. We are no longer a selling club and I believe we need quality younsters for the development of our great squad.
SecretPro Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 I also get details of players salaries quite often through work. However I deem it unethical to share without their knowledge.
GaelicFox Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Mail reporting he goes to Liverpool in summer No way is 2.5k keeping him here !
chicagofox Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 How much should we offer a player with absolutely no top-flight experience and only a handful of championship games under his belt?
Thracian Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 How much should we offer a player with absolutely no top-flight experience and only a handful of championship games under his belt? As much as we think he's worth. Chilwell might not have played a lot for us but his quality was there to be seen - and in so many ways. Good reading of the game, sound positioning, clearly keen and able to play the ball out of defence but willing to do the basic thing if necessary, decent close control, keen to supplement attacks and timed his tackling well and in a controlled manner. Yes, I'm not forgetting the mistake he made against Spurs but he was still there or thereabouts for MoM that day and my feeling that he needs strengthening up. But otherwise he looks an excellent player in the making. The question is can we use him often enough and will he want to be on the bench when he could be playing. Not that I can see it would be any different for him at Arsenal or any other decent Premiership club until he's stronger.
Richmondfox Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 How much should we offer a player with absolutely no top-flight experience and only a handful of championship games under his belt? He should be grateful for his £800 a week. That's not a bad wage for essentially keeping fit and learning his trade.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Does anyone know if he is a city fan? Or if he grew up supporting Arsenal / Liverpool or whoever as that might have a bearing on his thoughts That said surely he will have a better chance with us anyway?
chicagofox Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 As much as we think he's worth. And if reports are to be believed we think he is worth £2,500 a week. Quite frankly, he has more chance of breaking in to a first-team with Moreno or Monreal than he does a club with Fuchs playing left-back.
SB87_LCFC Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 I'm sure the club have this in hand, Chilwell seems a grounded sort of lad not to have his head turned by the overtures of the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal. He was outstanding in both FA Cup games against Spurs and probably one of the top talents to come out of the youth system. Ranieri said in the summer how highly he rates him so I am sure they are in regular conversation and he's keen to have him involved
Ric Flair Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Just give him £8000 a week with a £5000 match appearance bonus, job done.
Thracian Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 And if reports are to be believed we think he is worth £2,500 a week. Quite frankly, he has more chance of breaking in to a first-team with Moreno or Monreal than he does a club with Fuchs playing left-back. I don't believe a word about the £2,500. If he's prepared to sign a new contract (big "if") and has not yet agreed the terms then it will be an ongoing debate. Nothing will have been decided. As for assessing his chances of breaking through it's guesswork. Fuchs could get injured though I sincerely hope he doesn't. More likely is that Ranieri will show sufficient trust in him to ensure he's kept involved. If all goes to plan at the club I can only see us having more fixtures per season rather than less and we'll need to use the whole squad more than just occasionally. Ric's got the right idea or is at least closer to reality.
