Seth's dong Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Doesn't matter where we are in league. 2nd or 12th. I want to beat teams such as Bournemouth at home and having seen the performance today it wasn't good enough. Just because we're 2nd does that mean we can't moan? I've been a city fan since 1988 and have seen the dark days of David Pleat! I think anybody with half a brain should realise that this is a great time for the club. It is important to stay grounded and accept we cant win every week. Fans should be bright enough to realise that players respond better to encouragement rather than critism. I for one and having a glass of wine tonight to celebrate reaching 40 points.
sycokilla Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 2 in the table ... but not played well in the last 3 games ...thought fuchs and kante were great today. looking back over the first half of the season I think Kante, mahrez, vardy, morgan ; huth drinkwater albrighton fuchs have been consistent enough but it would be good for the future to get 4-5 more players in who could achieve the same standard, think leo, shinji, are not consistent enough to be considered over the long term..would like to see kramaric in for a few games
bovril Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I don't think 'the wheels have come off' by any stretch of the imagination - nothing like that - but I moaned because I sat through a frustrating (not woeful) performance. I'm disappointed and frustrated, yes these things happen but sitting second in the league does not mean we cannot moan. For sure you are way more balanced than some of the posters on here.
Medwayfox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Well I guess this is our first mini-crisis of the season. Everyone has been saying that we would go through a slump at some point. This will be the true test of Ranieri's skills as to how he handles it? Some have said that he has just hung onto the coat tails of Pearson's good work and then enhanced it a bit. Now it will be interesting to see what he does for the next few matches: "stick" with the same players and style that got us where we are or "twist" and make a few changes to personnel and style?
Dr The Singh Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 We have to go through this bad patch. However we are now being treated with greater espect, our performance will have to reflect that. I had some twat on here criticise my post about the the team being a top 10 team, I stand by that, we have been punching above our weight, we can reach top 4 but we need to improve our team in jan
Weller in Tights Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Have a word with yourself you prophets of doom. We are 2nd in the PL after 20 games. The fickleness and sheer blind stupidity of fans never ceases to amaze me. Agreed. We played some good football today, not our best of the season, but there were still some good performances out there (Morgan and Simpson played well for me). We must be careful that we don't become like the arrogant Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal fans who think it is their 'God-Given' right to win all games. We are 2nd in the league, we have been playing some great exciting football, enjoy it. We need to get behind the team and give our vocal support to the best level we can do. If the team is struggling or even fall behind, that is when we as fans need to up our game and really back the team. Let's really push hard as fans to help our team produce their best. What can we do? Back the team and Be loud. COYB
LCFCFOX6190 Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Were people seriously booing the team? Definitely heard a few in the Kop.
Matt Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Were people seriously booing the team? Definitely heard a few in the Kop. Think you've answered your own question there mate
ealingfox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 i think that actually, it is you sir with the pathetic mentality. they were given a target of 40 points and have achieved it in 20 games. While the result is nothing to celebrate about, the season most certainly is and a lot of people on here seem to have forgotten the 17 games at the start of the season where we picked up an incredible 38 points. Get some damn perspective! So if we lost every game til May and finish on 40 thats fine and the season is worth celebrating? Ridiculous. What does it say about the remaining 18 games of our season? Sipping champagne and celebrating and saying we've achieved our goal. Absolute joke, but the fact so many of you have been taken in by this means Mr. Ranieri has a very easy job for the rest of the season.
AjcW Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Jesus... Some people.. We've not scored in three games.. Yes. But we've got two draws. One against City... Whose last win away was in September.. SEPTEMBER! And we're worrying about three games without a goal??
smudger63 Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Some div in SK1 was shouting at the players proclaiming that this was the worst football he'd ever seen. Can I request that any idiots stay at home for the rest of the season please. This is the best City team I've seen in my 35 years in this planet (that I can remember) We had "one of those days", and you could argue that Bournmouths first half performance deserved the point. They ain't no mugs Certainly not the worst football i`ve ever seen, but i do think we were poor today, with some very out of sorts performances. We looked jaded i thought, and am glad we have the FA Cup weekend next week, to give the players some extra rest. The penalty was pivotal, if we put it away, it`s 1-0, and they`re down to 10 men, having to go at us, to get a point, which would have left themselves exposed, and we probably go on to win comfortably. Instead, a poor penalty miss meant they had something to hold on to, and they understandably just put everyone behind the ball, which was always going to make things tough for us, and on the day, we didn`t have the nouse or the quality to break them down. I really do hope we look to bring in another striker during the window though, to lessen the burden on Vardy.

Buzzell Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Ffs..Watford just scored..brilliant.. Doing us a favour.
Dr The Singh Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 It will be a clamity for me if we do not reach top4. This is our best chance for years, let's not blow it
Soar Fox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I was impressed by how Shinji didn't fall over much this game Did he come on?
Dr The Singh Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Doing us a favour.Watford have been impressiveThe fookers have scored from set piece, awful defending
EnglishOxide Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Did you honestly think we'd be top 4 now at the start of the season? This time last season we were praying for mid table obscurity. Of course not. However, now we are in this position I'm not just about to claim the season is over and that we should just be satisfied to have got this far. If you are just happy for 10th then you might as well stop going to games for the rest of the season. Nobody is going into meltdown here, but we are looking like a side that aren't playing like we were at the minute. The reasons for that are up for debate.
sdb Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Tough one to take, but you get days like that. Mahrez just happened to have a bit of a shocker. They were excellent first 45. Kante was unbelievable. Give the lads a rest next week please Claudio.
maddog Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Still on 2 points a game which is absolutely fantastic. Another clean sheet, two in a row and we've struggled to make those this season. 8 days rest until the next game too.
Livid Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 It was a frustrating day. Frustrating that we didn't get our game going for the best part of an hour, although credit Bournemouth for playing very well. Frustrated at the penalty miss. Frustrated we then spent 30 minutes battering at the door against 10 men but being unable to breakthrough.
ealingfox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I doubt Ranieri would have reached the top of his profession if he really had that mentality. But it would certainly explain why he's won fvck all.
LCFCFOX6190 Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Think you've answered your own question there mate i meant was there any other reason i.e the ref.
