Vardinio'sCat Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 6ft is a bit disappointing, but if he is aggressive enough, it might work. Looking at the vid is a bit of an eye opener really, it would nice to see a Huth-like near decapitation (or 2), but I guess the goals are quite nice. Austria has a great tradition in footy, particularly in the 30's. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the 'German' team had to have a quota system so that some Germans could get in the team! Fuchs knows what to do...

enmac Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Austria seem to be the new Belgium in terms of quality unkown players emerging. Let's snap a load of them up.Apparently, Austria were one of the best teams in the world in the 1930s. But then came the Nazis.Could say the same about Hungary in the1950s. Would love Was to pick up his badges and stay here as a defensive coach. I think he's great for the team. bet this guy's great for easter egg hunts
Vardinio'sCat Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 It wasn't easy being ex-member of the Austro-Hungarian empire, if you were a footy fan. Fascists to the west of me, Commies to the east, Here we are, stuck with a s**t fotball team again Interestingly (or not), my Granny could have played for Austria or Hungary, and if she had hung around in Vienna for long enough, the Germans as well! Bloody Europeans, eh.

Carl the Llama Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Leicester fans claiming a guy can't be defensive because he isn't big enough even though we play motherloving Kanté every week and he's incredible at it.
Webbo Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Leicester City are unlikely to pursue interest in AC Milan's Nigel de Jong and have pulled out of the race for Austria defender Martin Hinteregger. Claudio Ranieri is exploring other options but remains keen to add three players through the spine of his squad following on from Demarai Gray's arrival. Talks are ongoing over new contracts for Jamie Vardy and left back Ben Chilwell. Hinteregger, meanwhile, is in talks with Borussia Monchengladbach. dbtcity Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Movement in the dragovic deal or break down in the benalouane sale
thybluefox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Movement in the dragovic deal or break down in the benalouane sale Hopefully the former rather than the later. "3 players through the spine of the team" suggests to be a CM, CM and a Forward. Fits nicely with the Aboubakar rumours (he says hopefully)
TheMightySystem Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Hopefully the former rather than the later. "3 players through the spine of the team" suggests to be a CM, CM and a Forward. Fits nicely with the Aboubakar rumours (he says hopefully) I thought it would have been a younger cb, around 23-25, a goal scoring cm and a striker who is good at defending and linking up play. That would be what I would look for anyway.

I'd say three new players is the perfect amount. I wouldn't want us to change too much, but we're in a great position to add a few quality players.

dbtcity Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 2x CMs? One will be a defender, probably. I have a feeling he meant a CB CM and a forward
MikeyT Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 What a bout a new GK? I don't fancy Schwarzer in goal if something happens to Kasper.
TheMightySystem Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 What a bout a new GK? I don't fancy Schwarzer in goal if something happens to Kasper. Hamer is back now, would he be happy being second keeper though?
MC Prussian Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 The Austrian national team manager said in November/December last year that he considers Hinteregger a "talent", but also warned him against complacency. Hinteregger's disciplinary issues could cost him a spot on the Austria roster comes May. One day after a Saturday away game at Grödig, he allegedly failed to find his way back home and slept at the RB Salzburg training centre, only to be "too tired" when faced with fitness tests the following day. You get the impression that he thinks he's bigger than the club and he's also tried to either force a move last winter and spoken against a transfer to Salzburg's brother club RB Leipzig in Germany.
ramadaone Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 A left footed centre half is an absolute must in this window
Stevosevic Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 A left footed centre half is an absolute must in this window Your opinion or the thoughts of CR?
dpjfox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 looks topplayer and Fuchs could vouch for his character
mozartfox Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Read an article today in a local rag about big transfers involving Austrian players. Apparently we are trying to sign him for Euros 13.5 Million.
thybluefox Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 I have a feeling he meant a CB CM and a forward I have a feeling you were right
MC Prussian Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Going to Mönchengladbach, according to German tabloid "Bild": http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/martin-hinteregger/gladbach-gewinnt-den-kampf-um-hinteregger-44064880.bild.html Loan until the summer, with an option to buy him for 12 million Euro afterwards. EDIT: Dear Hinckley Times, do you copy my reports on here? http://www.hinckleytimes.net/sport/football/football-news/leicester-city-miss-out-austrian-10704518? Posted eight minutes after my input.
Guest Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Hamer is back now, would he be happy being second keeper though? I wish people would stop this. Hamer couldn't even get into a very poor Bristol City side. He made 5 apps in all the time he was there and shipped goals in them. If Hamer starts for us our top half of the table hopes are in serious jeopardy. We need a good GK.
