East-Stand Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 I know the title is "re-design" but Free and easy access WIFI for fans would be useful. The Nou Camp has it in all zones of the stadium so why can't we. I'm not one to surf the tinternet during matches but pre match and half times would be useful as the 4G coverage is poor when under the roof of the stadium Thanks for asking though, look forward to the results.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 The words to When You're Smiling is a good one.
seenitall Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Queuing system like the post office for the food - way more efficient and stops the pissed off feeling you get when you join the seemingly fast moving queueueueu only to find the bozo serving can't add up, handle three pints, find the pie someone wants or goes awol for some change for the entire half time
Kitchandro Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 I went to Goodison Park the other week and one thing I really liked about there is that they have an illustrated chronological history of the club around the outside. Without the graffiti, obviously )Something like that in the concourse might be quite cool. It would be good to educate fans, perhaps those who haven't been very often before, about our history. I think knowing more about the club makes people more attached to it.
MC Prussian Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 When properly filled, it can get a bit crammy in the concourse area and the lines between people just standing around and people queuing for drinks and/or food blur. I'd still call most fans on a matchday proper queuers - however, I wonder whether there'd be a way of deploying a lane system with an entry and exit point, so that it's FIFO-conform (first in, first out) and no question about whom queued first. Pictures (as long as they last a while and can't be easily demolished), better (bigger) TVs in more suitable areas and a bit less grey (concrete) would be nice, too.
Spudulike Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 The pictures need to be BIG, like these in the new stand at Bristol.... http://images.venuedirectory.com/images/VenuesRoomsTVD/69053/image2.jpg?format=jpg&width=480&height=360&mode=max&scale=both&quality=100&404=/Content/images/nopic.png&speed=0
Vlad the Fox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 We shouldn't just limit it to goals at the current stadium either. We need to have more at the ground that links Filbert Street and Filbert Way and embraces our proud history. Definitely. This is a great opportunity for Filbert Street to be remembered and incorporated into the modern club of today and never forgotten. I think those that never went to filbert street would appreciate its history more with famous photos of games gone by in front of the old stands, not to mention the great names of yesteryear. What more could get you into the mood for getting behind the team.
ealingfox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Yeah deffo agree with more Filbert Street stuff
theessexfox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Off topic but I really like the montages of goals and great moments played on the big screen pre-match, great example of the club listening to the fans and doing extra stuff for us.
MC Prussian Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 I keep on banging on about Bournemouth - outside the Goldsands, there's a large mural area with painted parts depicting the club's history and famous players alike. I wonder whether something similar could be done inside the King Power - using the grey concrete surface.
one F in Fox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Never mind re designing the concourses, get rid of the numpties serving at the kiosks. If you ever watch them it's absolutley staggering how slow most of them are, there really doesn't seem to be any urgency in getting people served. I never bother at half time 'cos I know I'll miss some of the second half!
ealingfox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 I keep on banging on about Bournemouth - outside the Goldsands, there's a large mural area with painted parts depicting the club's history and famous players alike. Think that's just a portrait of Harry Redknapp mate.
Spudulike Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 A nice friendly banner in the away section saying something like 'Welcome to Leicester' with a picture of a toothless Iwan Roberts.
Vlad the Fox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 I also agree with the heating, I don't feel the cold but it's always about ten degrees colder than it is outside, it's bloody cold. What people don't realise about that game against Middlesbrough with only 8000, there was another 16000 frozen solid in the concourse unable to move.
Vlad the Fox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Slightly off topic but is there any chance of a statue outside the ground?
Stevosevic Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 In one corner of the ground within the concourse area, there are pictures of the likes of Hughes, Kenton, Porter, Stearman...no idea why Rip them down and get some proper legends up there
GingerrrFox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 I know they aren't doing it right now but when the time comes to extend the East stand I hope they re-design the toilets in that stand. They are a nightmare.
Stevosevic Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Slightly off topic but is there any chance of a statue outside the ground? This as well, with our levels of revenue now they would be a drop in the ocean. We must be the only club in the top two divisions without a statue?
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Positive to hear that the club are willing to listen to the fans input on this. There's a lot of good ideas above, and I feel pictures of memorable goals and moments (I.e Vardy & Cambiasso v Man Utd, Nalis v Leeds etc) would be great to have on the walls in the concourses as you enter the ground on matchdays. As well as pictures from the King Power, I feel it would be good to have some pictures from the days of Filbert Street too. I'd be interested to know the situation with the goal music, whether we're keeping it next season or not. But I suppose that's a separate subject. I suppose bigger TV screens would be good, although I don't personally think they're too bad at the moment if not. I've noticed there is some confusion whether people are queuing or just standing watching the screens, I don't know how that could be fixed but it'd be good for it to be a little clearer either way what each person is doing.
Gary Eatfood Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 In before some idiot suggests "chat sh*t get banged". Personally, certain pictures from recent times I'd like to see around would be 1) Vardy's West Brom celebration with Wasilewski going nuts, 2) Schlupp in mid-air after his winner in the Spurs FA Cup game last season, 3) maybe one of the huddle of players after staying up at Sunderland, 4) Cambiasso's bow? There's loads more but I can't think at the moment. Also thought it might be worth revisiting the classic LCFC pics thread that was on here a while back. Some absolute crackers in there that could be used. Walshy celebrating the winner against Derby in the play-off final.
Spudulike Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 If the concourses are getting a makeover then I guess there are no imminent plans for stadium expansion ??
cjslcfc Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Walshy celebrating the winner against Derby in the play-off final. with the words "Leicester City are in dreamland now" etched into the wall underneath it!
NewquayFox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Designated beer lanes, a lot of folks fancy a quick pint at half time but end up getting one with a few minutes to spare before the teams come out for the 2nd half, more beer sold more revenue, might even lower the prices.... Up the City......
davieG Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 I know you said it wouldn't involve the kiosks but I could never understand why the don't use vending machines for sweets, chocolate, soft drinks even beer surely that would solve a lot of the queuing issues and might even impact on the concourses feeling so cramped.
