Leicester Lass Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Over the close season the Club are planning on doing a lot of work in the concourses around the stadium and are looking for some ideas of what fans might like to see. We had a sub-committee meeting of the FCC tonight where we walked through the concourses around the ground to see what is there currently, and get an idea of the areas that really need some work performing on them. Note, this does not include any work on the kiosk areas (although those in the South Stand will be completely redeveloped over the close season), as this is the resposibility of the catering partner rather than the Club. If the South Stand redevelopment proves successful then this will be rolled out throughout the ground in future. So whilst I appreciate the kiosks are a nightmare, please hold off with any comments about that in this thread. Just to give you an example of some ideas that were thought up tonight: - In certain areas have large pictures of fans on the walls, for example in the SK1 concourse have pictures of the Union FS displays, in L1 have a picture showing the fans doing the 'Poznan'. - Larger TVs, also moved to better locations - i.e. away from the kiosks to avoid queuing problems. - Large pictures of iconic goals with the accompanying commentary, for example Jamie Vardy celebrating v Man Utd with the Sky commentary 'It's eleven, it's heaven for Jamie Vardy...' If you have any pictures that you'd like to see dotted around, any inspiration you've seen in other stadia or any other ideas you'd like to put forward please just reply in this thread. This really is an area where the Club want some input from the fans, and I will ensure that any suggestions (provided they are sensible!) get put forward.

LCFC FOX Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Why can't the club put the early kick off game on the big screens before kick off? They put the game on in the concourses but thought it may be something to consider. Gives people who get there early something to watch! Other teams do it

Personally, certain pictures from recent times I'd like to see around would be 1) Vardy's West Brom celebration with Wasilewski going nuts, 2) Schlupp in mid-air after his winner in the Spurs FA Cup game last season, 3) maybe one of the huddle of players after staying up at Sunderland, 4) Cambiasso's bow? There's loads more but I can't think at the moment. Also thought it might be worth revisiting the classic LCFC pics thread that was on here a while back. Some absolute crackers in there that could be used.

harpendenfox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 It's not quite on topic but taking an idea from baseball they could alleviate some of the half time kiosk crush by having mobile vendors in the stands selling the basics like water, sweets and crisps.

Men's toilets are with quantity considered, women's allocation is because of time so therefore to reduce queuing and congestion. I'd imagine.

If you must do a picture for L1 why just not a still of them celebrating just after a goal? The large iconic pictures thing is a good idea though. Walshie against the Sheep would be a good one. How about one of Filbo as well, maybe of the fans in the lower double decker? The words to When You're Smiling should be plastered in massive font on the walls as well. This is a good idea if done well, good luck.
Leicester Lass Posted 6 January 2016 Author Posted 6 January 2016 In response to a couple of these points: Heaters - they do have them in the West Stand but nowhere else currently. Toilets - the project isn't going to be a redesign of the layout etc, more just the overall look of the concourse so we are sadly stuck with the toilet situation as it is. With regards for places to rest pies/pints there is a load of space available for extra shelves to go in. We did pick this up on the walk round tonight. Keep them coming!

With the turnstiles and the entrances to the stands there would be a constant draught and you would barely feel it at all. Would also be a massive expenditure on energy, most of which would be wasted as the heat would escape.

We need to have more at the ground that links Filbert Street and Filbert Way and embraces our proud history.
