Simi Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Any chance of the TV's displaying the correct spelling of players names? Kant and Argero have featured recently.
Bayfox Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 As it has been brought up about the shelves for putting a pint on, and has been noticed on the walk round. I'm not sure if it is the same across the whole ground, but the last set of stairs in the kop neart sk1, has a shelf right at the bottom, next to the entrance to the toilet!!! Possibly the worst design idea ever, 1, you are stood next to a bog, 2 you are hemmed in by a load of people waiting to go for a piss, yet it is one of the only places you can put a pint down if buying for others. A suggestion would be to box out all the steel pillars and create bar space, and find alternative space for the recycling bins. As others have mentioned as well, some sort of snake system for the counters would help, allowing 1 queue at each outlet and people then moving down to the next member of staff. As others have agreed with, the covering of the block work, with panels, printed with iconic images would go a long way to tidying the place up.
jet64 Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Like many, I agree that the queuing back across the concourse all the way to the toilets is a nightmare and a better queue system would be a massive improvement. If they could be organised in lines parallel to the counters this would solve most of the half- time chaos. Definitely vendors in the stadium - great idea, also bigger screens to prevent huddling underneath for those lacking 20/20 vision -. How about a dedicated pre-paid drinks stand using a voucher system..order before the match and show your voucher at half time where all the drinks are lined up ( maybe that's going too far - oh well - just an idea)
Bayfox Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Metal rails or any sort of roping system for queues are not allowed on concourses for health and safety issues in case of need for emergency evacuation What is allowed tho but I don't think would be much use is putting tape on the floor to designate areas Don't know how good the idea is but could there be some sort of token system to be able to collect beers at half time from a designated area Hand token over instantly get beer in exchange having no money exchanges must speed things up As for the TVs not sure how it could be solved but the location of them in the west means that if a crowd are around it you struggle to move once you get though the turnstiles Pictures would be brilliant anything to brighten up the insides will do for me, again don't how good the idea is but could we have player themed areas around the kiosks If this is true, then how do clubs like doncaster get away with it, they have a fairly modern ground? And last time I went they even had a beer queue that included the door staff from the local night club checking as you joined the queue.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 I'm 90% sure that the queues in the concourse could be at least partly cured by staff that actually care about getting people served quickly. I hardly ever buy food or drink myself there but from just looking at the activity behind the kiosk, you can tell there's absolutely no urgency from the staff to get people sorted. Granted it's difficult to get casual staff to absolutely bust their balls seeing that they'll get paid the same anyway, but anyone who's get some experience running a similar operations like bars or food stands knows that speed is the key. At the end of the day the busiest time is half time, it's not much to ask for people to work hard for half an hour or so is it?
Stadt Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Wouldn't that require some sort of permanent crane dangling it? a superconductor as long as we can keep it at about minus 200 degrees outside
Fox92 Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Larger TVs. I can't see the live games when I'm stood all the way back against the wall. Have to move forward like everyone else then there's a problem because you have about 20 people stood around one TV.
BirminghamFox Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 already mentioned but they have to sort out the SLOW kiosks. The only way to get a beer at half time is if you leave the first half before 40 minutes on the clock and then you end up missing the first few minutes of the 2nd half! The queue is also a free for all and frustrates everyone so proper side lanes in a snake to reduce the crowded areas. Please organise FAST lane beer only queues and we don't need the betting kiosks as most people who bet have smart phones these days. The toilets I guess will have to wait but the Kop toilets are awful with everyone pushing and struggling to get in and out. Also, make it feel like you are indoors rather than having a beer in a rough back street in Nottingham somewhere. Lastly, obvious one, large recent and old mixed pictures such as here: http://images.venuedirectory.com/images/VenuesRoomsTVD/69053/image2.jpg?format=jpg&width=480&height=360&mode=max&scale=both&quality=100&404=/Content/images/nopic.png&speed=0
AndWhat? Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 I know the title is "re-design" but Free and easy access WIFI for fans would be useful. The Nou Camp has it in all zones of the stadium so why can't we. I'm not one to surf the tinternet during matches but pre match and half times would be useful as the 4G coverage is poor when under the roof of the stadium Thanks for asking though, look forward to the results.
stripeyfox Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 As others have mentioned, somewhere to put your food and drink down would be nice. Toilet design is a complete mess. Much better layouts at almost every other ground I've been too. Murals, posters would be nice but not top of my priorities. Most problems regarding catering could be sorted by binning off whoever has the contract and individually sub letting kiosks to a number of different caterers, creating competition, choice and driving quality up. Pitchside vendors for soft drinks, crisps, snacks would be a good idea.
Jimbo Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 The words from classic bits of commentary from our games "that could be the winner from claridge....." "Leicester City are in dreamland now" What the commentary from the Man U 5-3 when Vardy scored wasn't it something like " The comeback of all comebacks"? There has to be a snippet involving the words "Leicester City never know when they're beaten" or something similar The picture of the Foxes eyes that they use on the pre match video, on that subject they could turn the volume up just a tad when that video is played, I like that Vid, gets me every time! As said previous, Bigger TVs showing earlier kickoffs and better service at the kiosks I'm sure would improve revenue as more fans would probably head down to the ground earlier to have a few pints and watch the game before ours. I'm sure they have gated queuing systems at places like Wembley, but of course the concourses there are much bigger than ours! Fast track alcohol only queues, with those machines that pour 8 pints at a time. Better staff training and make sure the staff they hire have the ability to blink and breathe at the same time. And stop pouring the contents of a plastic bottle into a plastic pint glass.

ealingfox Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 WiFi a definite no-no for me, unless at the very least it is switched off while the game is in play. We've got enough prats constantly checking their phones as it is, give em WiFi and they'll be bringing their laptops to fire up Netflix and that while im trying to watch the lads.
Babylon Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 What would be the point of heating the concourses? With the turnstiles and the entrances to the stands there would be a constant draught and you would barely feel it at all. Would also be a massive expenditure on energy, most of which would be wasted as the heat would escape. You do feel it... you can walk through to the west stand from the kop. I've met a mate in there before the game a few times and the heaters were lovely... although they weren't on the last few times.
Babylon Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 If the concourses are getting a makeover then I guess there are no imminent plans for stadium expansion ?? We're talking a few pictures and a few shelves by the look of it, not the end of the world, they would also probably be able to stay in place as the stands get built behind the current ones.

Aye as they've also just re-covered the floor in the east stand which must have cost a few bob.
lcfclcfc1 Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Some very good valid points coming up on this thread and yet again it shows that hopefully the club do listen to the fans. One observation I can't see elsewhere is to stop all the smoking in the toilets at half time. The stadium is meant to be smoke free but at half time in the toilets near G1 you cant see for smoke in the toilets. Stewards tend to ignore. Although I have nothing against anyone who smokes. it is a personal choice, It is awful when you pop to the loo only to come out a few seconds later stinking of smoke etc This is not just a Leicester problem but is a problem at most gamers
suffolk fox Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Some sort of barrier controlled system for catering outlets an in lane and an out one. Vast majority of people aint got a clue how to queue. As at the old Arsenal stadium before redevelopment. Alternative blocks of toilets south stand has two female sections of toilets together in the stand male female etc would be better. Do something about them entrances are not big enough and a poor design. Heaters for concourses would be nice for winter why only the West Stand? Keep up to date with current posters of current players.

Gerard Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 They should just sell the beer in plastic bottles. At home matches I never have a beer at half time. I won't leave my seat until the half time whistle and it means I'd have to get straight in the queue and I'd have about 2 mins to drink it if I'm lucky before the second half starts. Even at the West Ham League cup match when the stadium was two thirds full I spent the whole of the half time queuing and gave up when it was 2mins to the second half kick off and i was still fourth in the queue. The club are losing revenue by the inefficiency of the ability to serve people quicker so what I would propose is some kiosks that only sell beer or cider in plastic bottles for £4 a bottle. They could have the tops already unscrewed and the £4 price tag means they deal with change quicker and with some quick motivated staff they could get through them queues like a hot knife through butter.

I've highlighted the giant flaw in that plan Last time I was in a queue it literally took the person behind the counter 5 minutes to serve me two beers.
Vicki Vixen Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 I think the concourses are fine. Leave them as they are.

We don't make any more money from extra food sales as it's contracted out so there's little interest in improving it.

If the beer was only one type they could maybe install a bank of vending machines all fully stocked with it. Make them no cash and only accept contactless card. Then it would be very quick for people to just walk up, get a beer and walk off. They would need to think of a way to stop the beer from fizzing when it vends but if we can put men on the moon then I'm sure someone can figure that one out. They could do the same with bottled water at a different location. In the hotter weather especially this could do very well.
