Schlupp

Either I'm going soft in my old age or I actually agree with you 100% in a post about Schlupp.

Currently, Fuchs is showing his class so Schlupp might have to wait a bit.

Schlupp's not getting in at left back again. Fuchs is as good going forward (albeit different, his threat is the quality of ball in rather than athleticism) but much better defensively.

Realistically where we've missed Schlupp is as an option to replace Albrighton or even Okazaki, allowing us to move Mahrez inside. It's clear that Gray is not ready for more than a few minutes here and there and Ulloa is obviously nowhere near as good as Vardy, so Schlupp is actually the one option we've got that we can bring in whose selection doesn't drastically weaken our front 4.

Schluppy will be an asset to us in the final games. Probably on as a replacement for Albrighton when the game gets stretched. His pace will create us chances. I for one am looking forward to his return. Definitely priority over Gray and Dyer.

Agree, got a feeling he could be useful to us in these 12 upcoming games when he's fit and ready to play again.

Like you said his pace is always good, and he might get a few goals perhaps. Hopefully he will create some good goal scoring chances for us with what he offers attacking wise. We'll see but certainly a boost to the squad as he is another decent option to have. Depends if he gets in the team and what position he plays.

Can't say I'm too bothered.

I'd say we haven't missed him a jot since he's been out, Fuchs has shown us what a proper quality left back is and Gray seems to be cultured with a bit of class on the ball.

We're at the business end of doing something amazing now, it won't be funny anymore if something bad happens because Schulpp made one of his dopey errors.

Would be great if he seals our suprise season, by being the ace in hole for our last 8 games.

Every single player as upped their anti and improved their form.Schlupp started well, if he

returns replicating the teams form, we have that extra forward, not fullback.

His pace even for the last 20 minutes, would mean no rest for the opposition, and a great boost for

Claudio and the team.

Just tell him to attack and use his pace, as a sub, no defensive duties!!

Disagree. He won't compete with Fuchs for LB anyway, but will be used in an attacking role (mainly from the bench, i suspect). The extra pace and threat he can bring could make a crucial impact as we go on the final part of the run-in. He is much more direct, speedy and strong than Gray, and can unsettle any defence with his bursts of acceleration. As he will be employed in an attacking role then his occasional dumb moments are unlikely to be costly.

This relies on the assumption, though, that his injury hasn't blunted his speed.

Be nice to see Schlupp back in contention but not as a left back, Fuchs & Chilwell have that slot covered. Last 10 minutes in games in any attacking position with his pace, no one will know what he's going to do next as he often doesn't either.....

Up the City.... ;0)

Why do you need an out and out left back on the bench though ? players that can change a game are more useful and Schluppy can provide attacking and defensive cover, he would always be on the bench for me.

Agreed. 3rd choice in both positions and would be fine with him not making another appearance.

I still believe Chilwell will leave in the summer - no inside information it's just the way I think it will work out. I don't want him to leave because I think he's got a potentially brilliant future but I agree with those who think Schlupp's our best attacking option off the bench on the left-side and am not completely convinced he's not still the best option at left-back.

Before the bullets are fired, it's all about strength at the moment. Chilwell is technically as promising a left-back as I can remember seeing at Leicester. He really does have quality.

But he doesn't have Schlupp's pace or strength and that's an important aspect of Premiership football - in defence or attack.

I'm still reminded of the goal Spurs scored and still can't be certain whether Chilwell naively believed Kasper would save any shot on the near post or simply didn't make a challenge because he ddidn't believe the bloke would shoot so well. Either way I think Schlupp would either have blocked the shot or not even allowed the situation to develop.

I'm well aware to Schlupp's inconsistencies. They disappoint me as much as everyone else and are so frustrating. But I ask myself which player - as defender or attacker - would I rather be facing as a player.

And right now I'd chose Chilwell. Schlupp would be a nightmare to cope with although whether that will still be the case on his return I don't know. He's been such a long time out it's hard to imagine he'll have quite the same edge but we'll see.

As an attacker you don't really have to deal with Schlupp though, as he's looking for a camera flash that's gone off in the crowd or thinking about what he will be having for tea after the match.

Was Schulpp ever a nightmare to play against? I remember some pretty average Championship wingers having a lot of joy out of him.

Our defence were leeking goals all over the shop when he and RDL were at full backs.

hate schlupp at Left back. Love him as a last 20 min winger impact sub .................PACE

which he NEVER USES. Such a frustrating player I like many others say it is worrying how often he just switches off.

Feel a bit sorry for him. We havent missed him or James a bit.

He was really good against Norwich in October. Was that the last game he played for us?
