Schlupp

albrighton came off because there was literally no point putting crosses into the box because all their defenders were on average a foot taller than all our strikers. we needed to get to the bye line and whip low crosses or cut back across goal. Jeff did the first thing alright it's just his end product was woeful.

gray was rubbish but he was clearly terrified. didn't help that his first contribution was someone over hit a cross field pass too him and it bounced over his head and half the ground started booing him. was never gonna be up to much after that.

I didn't think Gray was that bad. He wasn't afraid to get on the ball and try and make something happen, unfortunately, every cross seemed to hit a west brom head though. Think he'll be a real player for us when he gets more experience and confidence.

Albrighton was probably shattered, makes sense to bring on fresh legs to help maintain the intensity at which we were attacking.

Didn't even realise I was in the Schlupp thead ha. Schlupp.

I thought Jeff looked useful today. Much better at retaining possession than previously and has started to pick passes much better. He even seems capable of using his weaker right foot now. Compared to gray, who came on and just pumped endless non threatening crosses into the box jeff should be the one coming one, he gives us options and a cutting edge running behind that works well against teams playing deep

This.

Looks a better all-round player than before his injury absence - not just head-down sprints. Spotted a lot of clever short passes, retained the ball well and regularly beat their defenders on the inside as well as the outside.

Yes, his crosses into the box didn't often reach a blue shirt, so that still needs to improve. But tbf it was a difficult match for that, particularly late on, with WBA defending deep in their box and pretty well-organised. Not many of his team-mates were finding blue shirts with crosses either, apart from at set pieces.

As soon as albrighton came off it basically put an end to all of our decent chances, the amount of times albrighton picked up is head and picked out a decent ball.... Then on came schlupp who doesn't seem to have the ability to do two things at once Ie run and lift his head!!! got into so many dangerous positions then just drilled it into no mans land or straight at the first defender... Albrighton on the other hand was probably having one of his best games of the season!! Schlupp is basically just Lloyd Dyer on steroids

I thought Schlupp was poor, usual headless stuff. Never runs into space unless prompted, poor final ball. I could understand the idea of him coming on, the attributes he has should make him dangerous... but he ultimately fails too often. Bringing on Gray was Ranieri trying to rectify his mistake, as it meant we had someone who could cut back onto the right foot again, like Albrighton had been doing and getting joy with.

I often wonder if a player who has changed positions as much as Schlupp ever excels at one.

Started off as a striker, if I remember correctly. Then to the left wing, full back, wing back and now a bit of both. To be really good in one position, you need to play there regularly.

Never has the term 'jack of all trades, master of none' ever been more appropriate.

These 'utility' players are often overlooked and replaced regularly at clubs. Look at people like Phil Neville, James Milner, even Pontus Kaamark. They'll all do a job for you no matter where they play, but I'm sure they see themselves in a favoured position.

We hit the crossbar twice from crosses into the box.

Whip a low cross in like he did for Ulloa on Saturday?

I said before Albrighton is better on the right because his crossing is the best at the club. His low cross on Saturday was superb.

For the 10 mins or so before Albrighton came off, we created a ton of half and full chances, all through him. We had hit the bar twice, plus Vardy's saved header.

I would have liked to see Ulloa and Albrighton on the pitch at the same time.

Made me laugh when he ran the ball out of play and fell over with his first touch.

I love the bloke and I thought he played well last night.

Looked very good again last night when he came on. Nice turns of pace, got forward quite a few times and put some decent crosses in as well. He's looking energetic, and I feel he is a great option for us in my opinion, nice to have him back in the squad playing again.

Schlupp did very good yesterday. He's a serious attacking threat, especially in games like this when they park the bus and he's one of the few in the squad who can take on defender and win. Did couple of good runs, had a shot on goal (if it went in he would be our hero), and his positioning off the ball was clever too. Compared to him young Gray was a bit of dissapointment, I dont want to bash the lad, he's only 19 still a lot to learn but it was quite obvious he felt the pressure, he just did the same thing over and over, tried to take on two defenders mahrez-style while a simple cross or pass could do wonders. Was Schlupp feeling nervous? Did he worry about the stakes would you say? :D To me, he couldn't look less wengered! More Schlupp next time please. I'd rather keep Albrighton on right wing yesterday and put Schluppster on the left (wing not LB) introducing Gray when/if the game's more or less under control.

Jeff Schlupp could be a premier league winning footballer by May. Let that sink in

Games where Schlupp played at least 45 minutes this season:

Played 11

Won 7

Drew 3

Lost 1

Points 24/33

Ppg 2.18

I tell you, he's Leicester's secret weapon in this title race. He's like a thermonuclear warhead, just more thermonuclear and less head (not a criticism!). Legend to me as well. Personally I can't wait for his title winning celebration

Agree with Chester Dontlie entirely, I've thought for a while now his fresh pace and energy after returning from his injury could be key for us in these next 10 games left of the season. Talking wingers wise I'm happy with the options we have overall.

Can we not agree on this?

Jeff is a great athlete but his position sense is very poor. He is not a skillful, natural footballer. He can run very fast and occasionally - very occasionally - something beneficial for the team will come from his actions.

I hope he pulls another confused "why are we celebrating?"

I felt frustrated by Schlupp today. He loses the ball or slows the play down. He's Llyod Dyer before he started scoring goals.

Much improved tonight - credit where it's due.

No need debating teams now. We could start the under 18's against Newcastle and win!! (Up there at the minute, their fans are seething and shitty Steve)
