Thracian Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 Player ratings: Kasper 6 (Bad mistake for the first goal but picked himself up and made some useful saves later). DeLaet 7 (Hand in taking a player off the near post for Wasyl's equaliser and well involved with some valuable defending) Wasyl: 7 (Bit rusty to begin but took his goal really well and thereafter did his bit defensively) Benny 7 (Showed himself every bit as committed as his team-mates on the floor and in the air). Chilwell 8 (Looked a bit reserved and sat off his man just a little too much in the first half but outstanding after the break. Controlled the ball deftly and fed Kingy for the pass that made Shinji's goal, almost chipped the keeper for what would have been a nod in for Ulloa and otherwise looked a cool and cultured defender whatever he was doing second half). Inler 6.5 (Best performance so far for us and fitted in well. Still inclined to pass dangerously across the back third and a bit panicking with some of his distribution when there was no obvious support but did plenty of good things too including one of his trademark long passes which was right on the mark). Kante 7.25 (Perhaps his least dominant game for a while but that's only because of the wonderful standards he's set himself. Was still a bundle of energy and determination). King 8.25 (Edged MoM for me. Made the goal for Shinji with his one-touch pass, had a little involvement with Wesyl's goal in taking a man away from the far post to leave more space for the header, had a chipped chance half blocked at source and did so much in defence and midfield to keep us focused and strangle Tottenham attacks). Dyer 5 (No way at fault for the penalty except perhaps for being a lightweight forward in the box at all. Definitely more useful than against Bournemouth but still not effective enough for me although it was his low cross that was humped out for the corner that lead to our equaliser). Ulloa 6.5 (Won a fair bit of ball once he had some support and would have had a nod-in goal had Chilwell got his chipped cross into his path but still didn't look back to his best). Gray: 8 (One assist for Wasyl's goal and took the corner which was badly cleared to Chilwell for the move which started Shinji's goal. Otherwise, after a solid first half he was excellent in the second both on the ball, with his defensive calmness and decision making and in his efforts to support in attack. It's early days but I thought the lad looked a genuine prospect and, like Gray, needs to remain properly involved). Sub: Shinji 7.5 (His goal which gave us the lead was the result of a determined run into the box, some clever footwork in possession and his alertness to get onto and to finish the rebound. Did his usual stint in closing people down but enjoyed the opportunity to be more of a genuine support striker too and looked better for it).
bluebeau Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 A great performance from the team as a whole, I am impressed that we are able to turn out such a strong team with 8 changes from our regular 1st team selection. MOM Kingy with Chilwell a close 2nd imo. Also impressed with our new signing Gray, looks to be an excellent addition to the squad. Kasper 6 , DeLaet 7.5 , Wasyl 7 , Benny 6.5 , Chilwell 8 , Inler 7 , Kante 6. , Kingy 8.5 , Dyer 6 , Ulloa 7 , Gray 7.5 , Shinji 7.5 Never should have been a penalty. Looking at the position of the ref when the 'handball' occurred, he would not have been able to see what actually happened so he just bloody well guessed coz he saw the angle of the ball changed!
shen Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Kasper 6 - Yeah, he didn't look great for their opener, but people make it out like it was a howler, which it really wasn't. Good finish by Eriksen. Should've got a hand to Kane's penalty after guessing correctly and it being at a good height for him. Made som good stops, notably from Bentaleb but distribution was poor. Was alert in his sweeper role on a couple of occasions which is an area where I feel he's quite good, and despite poor clearances he always looks comfortable getting the ball to feet. De Laet 6 - Full of running and recovered well from customary lapses in defense. That said, he hardly got any help from Dyer in front of him. Was worried our inexperienced left side would be exploited but it was our right side that was by far the weakest. Wasilewski 7 - Started atrociously by getting booked for a wild and rash challenge just outside our box, which was exactly what we didn't need knowing how dangerous Tottenham are from those situations. He jumpstarted our limp performance up until that point with his goal and looks very assured afterwards. Had another brainfart moment when he stormed out to close a midfielder down after one of their corners was cleared only to keep on sprinting towards their defender on the halfway line. These rash moments are not welcome and could become costly. Strange from such an experienced player... Benalouane 7,5 - Had trouble finding his feet as did everyone else. He grew into the game and dealt with everything rather calmly and got a number of vital blocks in. Judged on this performance he's very unlucky not to be more involved. Would like us to hang on to him. Chilwell 8 - Was this his first team debut? He looked superb, particularly in the second half. Got in the way of so much and kept calm throughout. Fine touch, reads the game well and was never intimidated by the Spurs players. Got involved in the final third too, but that backpass to Schmeichel could've cost us dearly. Should be first in line to replace Fuchs at left backin the future. Dyer 4 - Yeah, he's my new pet hate. It's been more than a handful appearances since he's contributed anything like what you would expect from a player of his calibre. So often today he would do fancy flicks or quick one-twos, which is all fine and dandy, if you have any BLEEDING CONTROL OVER THE BALL! So so frustrating and once more he shows so little determination to get back and retrieve balls that he's lost, which often left Spurs two on one on our right flank. Virtually nothing came off for him and he was brushed off so easily it bordered on comical. It's such a shame, because I expected more from this loan, but lately he's shown why Swansea wanted rid of him. Unfortunate to give away the penalty, but that's what happens when you get a player like him defending in the box, with limbs flying all over. He better up his game very quickly or we have to find a replacement. Inler 7 - Thought he did very well today. He's on an upwards curve at least. Passed well and showed defensive awareness on more than one occasion. Thought he stepped up as a leader on the pitch which suited him. Super pass to Gray for the shot that whistled just past the post. King 7,5 - He is a superb player in these kinds of games where we need to close down the space for the opposition. Thought he and Inler worked reasonably well as a pair once it went to a 4-4-2. He was a major contributor to our superb second half defensive showing. So nearly picked out Dyer who was through on goal, but unfortunately offside. Delicious first-time pass for Okazakis goal. Kanté 7 - Not the same impact as usual, which was partly down to Spurs knowing the threat he poses and also because Ulloa and Dyer were a lot more manageable than Mahrez and Vardy. Ran a lot and did his usual stuff but was mostly restricted to his own half. Went off second half for a well-deserved rest. Hope he's fresh again for the midweek game. Gray 7,5 - You couldn't have expected anything more than this on his debut. Great corner for the opener and was lively on the left-hand side. From the tele angle it looked like his shot would fly into the corner which we know he's capable of. Good player to bring on for the final 10-20 minutes in games when Mahrez or Albrighton are knackered. Ulloa 6,5 - Had a terrible first half through little fault of his own. Badly needed support which he got when Okazaki came on and performed very well actually. That mazy run inbetween two defenders in the second half was surprising! Held up the ball well and was important as ever from defensive set pieces, but faded badly in the last 10-15 minutes after picking up what looked like a shin or ankle injury. Should've been subbed. Subs: Okazaki 7,5 - Rightly praised by the pundits. Made the goal with a fantastic shimmy. Could criticise him for not scoring with his first effort, but reacted quickly and shinn(ji)ed it on the rebound. Caused them all sorts of worries and gave the team a far better balance. More of the same please! Albrighton 6,5 - Usual high work rate and disciplined defending. Put in a couple of decent crosses which with some added anticipation from our forwards could've yielded some shots on target.
chicagofox Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 I think everybody is going a little over the top about Chilwell's performance. He had a good game.
Guest Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Kasper 5 - at fault for the goal and didnt command as per DeLaet 6 - solid game Wasilewski 7 - very good game Benalouane 6 - made a couple of errors first half very solid second Chilwell 6 - Gave the ball away in appropriate spots a lot. Improved a lot second half and got some good blocks in Dyer 5 - Defensively non existent and too lightweight. A few good touches. King 8 - excellent performance. he was all over the park today. I couldn't fault him as much as I often like to! Inler 8 - best performance in an LCFC shirt by a distance. Maybe he's getting up to speed? Kante 6 - Hard to say too much as it was only a half. Was probably his worst display for us but still more than adequate. Gray 7 - Very promising debut. He looks raw but exciting. Nice corner led to opener and he nearly scored a worldie. Ulloa 7 - Put in a proper shift I thought. Subs Okazaki 8 - Best I've seen him in an LCFC shirt too. Him coming on and subsequent formation change helped us take a semblance of control over the game. Albrighton 6 - Workmanlike effort off the bench. Don Claudio 8 - Some good rotation and as per usual was unafraid to make a big change when things weren't going our way. Ref 5 - was having a nice game until the horrific decision which put the tie back in the balance.
Guest ttfn Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Schmeichel 4 - Cost us the first goal. I think his distribution was poor but it's difficult to tell as I'm not sure the BBC showed a single goal kick yesterday, just close ups of other players and then play seemed to restart with a Spurs throw in. De Laet 6 - ok, offered no constructive support by Dyer in the first half. Wasyl 8 - my MOTM Benalouane 7.5 - solid Chilwell 6.5 - did ok I thought, not brilliant but for an 18 year old a decent outing. Dyer 4 - poor Inler 7 - best game I've seen him have for us - the first time 40 yard crossfield ball to Gray leading to his chance was ridiculous. Kante 5 - no impact. King 7 - very busy Gray 7 - good debut. Ulloa 6 - 4/10 first half, 8/10 second half. One great run in the second half in particular. Subs: Okazaki 8 - Brilliant goal
desertfox2 Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 MOTM for me Was: in the absence of morgan that was a captains performance. Let them know they were in a game. Great finish from Grays corner and solid for the game. Hobbled on when he looked injured as well. Gray was very good, work in progress defensively but going forward really dangerous. Nobody played badly only real mistake was Kasper for the 1st goal and that was by no means a howler just one of those things that happens. UTF
MC Prussian Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Schmeichel 6 - somewhat at fault for the first goal (but when you look at it, the initial shot that he parried took a slight deflection), then grew into it and came up with a couple of good savesDe Laet 7 - First half off-pace, much improved towards half-time and a very solid defender in the second halfWasyl 7.5 - Impressive, despite his age and lack of pitch time latelyBenalouane 7.5 - omnipresent in his area, managed to cover for Chilwell at times, came forward to help attacking Spurs early on a few occasions, too. Underrated.Chilwell 6.5 - For his first FA Cup game with us, he impressed me no end. Maybe a bit weak on the physical side and occasionally shaky, but with a no-nonsene approach, thoughtful and cleverDyer 4.5 - I saw little from him yesterday that gave me confidence he actually wants to start, unlucky with the penalty shout, somewhat wasteful in front of goalInler 7.5 - Clearing up everywhere in our own half. Blocking, tackling, intercepting, a couple of really neat passes going forward. And that pass to Gray in the second half... Kante 5.5 - Highly subdued and unusually tameKing 7 - Grew into it as the game progressed, good pass to assist Shinji's goalGray 7 - Fast, skillful, one assist. Great attempt on goal in the second half. Could also add a few more pounds with muscle mass. Has high potential.Ulloa 6 - Almost non-existent in the first half, gave it a 150% in the second half, great at holding up the ball and distributing it up front.Subs:Okazaki 7.5 - tenacious in front of goal, ran his lungs out. Vardy-esque. Albrighton - 7 Good crosses, good distribution.
AKCJ Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Schmeichel - 5 - Poor handling for the most part. Didn't command his area. De Laet - 6.5 - Thought he defended quite well for a change. Fullbacks had a hard game in the first half. Wasyl - 7.5 - Beast. Love the bloke. Benny - 7 - Outshone by Wasyl but was solid. Had Kane in his pocket. Chilwell - 7 - Few hairy moments but dealt with the game well. He knows how to defend and looks like a young Fuchs. Inler - 7 - His best game for us. That left footed pass to Gray was mental. Kante - 6 - Didn't have much of an influence. King - 8 - Everywhere. Classy, classic King. Gray - 7.5 - Looked a real threat. Looks like Mahrez did in his early days for us. Ulloa - 6.5 - Poor first half but grew into the game. Dyer - 6 - Didn't look a threat but worked his arse off and was desperately unlucky for the penalty. Okazaki - 7.5 - Great goal, Alderweireld still falling over. Albrighton - 6.5 - Tidy performance.
LCCFox96 Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Schmeichel - 6 - Bit of a howler for the first goal and thought his kicking and distribution was poor at times yesterday. Some solid stops as well though to balance it out. De Laet - 6 - Played well enough. Weak first half but much improved in the second. Wasilewski - 8 - The Beast from the East. Great header and a strong performance with the usual head case challenge or two. Loved it. Benalouane - 7 - Very strong performance. Made a few excellent challenges in some of Spurs' better attacking moves. Chilwell - 7 - Took the game in his stride. Strong performance at a tough venue against quality opposition. A real future prospect. Inler - 7 - Been harsh (deservedly imo) on him in the past. Retained and used the ball better today. Looked more comfortable on the ball too, particularly in the 2nd half. Much improved. Kante - 6 - Didn't do anything wrong but didn't impact much. Few decent bursting runs forward and broke up play a bit too. The rest will do him good. King - 7 - A very good performance from King. Was everywhere and linked up in the attacks much better than he has recently. Gray - 8 - Very impressive. Exciting bursts forward, decent shots on goal, good deliveries from out wide/corners and an assist. Everything I'd hoped for. Could be the real deal in our system. Ulloa - 7 - Would say 5 for 1st half but got involved very well in the second half. Link up play was very good and put a shift in for the 2nd 45mins. More of the 2nd half more often please Leo! Dyer - 6 - Decent enough. Pretty bang average in the first half but look much more effective when we reverted to 4-4-2. Did seem a bit off the pace all game though and his defensive contribution in the first half was piss. Okazaki - 8 - Game changer. Brilliant goal and fantastic energy which was a catalyst for very good team performance in the 2nd half. Albrighton - 6 - Looked decent when he came on. Ranieri - 8 - Got the initial formation wrong (or maybe personnel within it) but recognised it reverted to 4-4-2 and a masterstroke substitution in switching Kante for Okazaki. Deserved the win. On a side note, I thought Spurs looked very decent. Will be a really strong team in the future. Thought we contained them well though and on another day - minus a goalkeeping error from Kasper and a dodgy penalty call - we could have run out 0-2 winners. If, buts and maybes I know, but truth in it I think.
Bettsj2 Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Kasper 5 - Bad on the 1st goal and a couple of dodgy moments. Distribution was dreadful. RDL 5 - Exposed badly but didnt cover himself in glory at all. Was 7.5 - Really good header for the goal and was strong when needed. Benny 8 - Great performance. Calm, steady and communicated well. Chili B 7 - Good debut but nothing spectacular. Certainly didnt look out of place. Dyer 4 - Disappointed with him. Was really pleased when we signed him but wouldnt be unhappy if he wasnt to stay. Kante 5 - Most ineffective game he's had. Inler 7 - Did well. Good distribution and shielded the back 4 well. I hope he plays on Wednesday in a 3 again as he could be a real force in the 2nd half of the season. King 8.5 - Superb. If he played like that every time he played, there would be no doubt in anybody's mind that he belongs in the Prem. Gray 7 - Very good debut. Willing to run with it and take people on and not afraid to have a strike. Again, he could be influential over the next few months. Ulloa 7.5 - Thought he had a good game especially in the 2nd half. Really worked hard and did the lone front man role very well. Subs :- Okazaki 8 - Played really well and took his goal fantastically. Albrighton 6 - Industrious. Ranieri 8 - Spot on tactically again. After we settled they never looked like scoring. Spurs 5 - Lots of possession but didnt look like doing anything with it. Encouraging that our squad stands up against sides like this especially when our strength in depth has been questioned so much. Referee 2 - WTF?

I'm sure some people watch different games to the ones I see.
CharlieCharles Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Schmeichel - 4 - Poor for the first goal, multiple goalkicks going out for throw ins. Not his day. De Laet - 7 - Decent today. Wasyl - 8 - Played very well, only criticism when he ran out near the end to try and tackle leaving us completely exposed. Benny - 7.5 - Solid Chilwell - 6.5 - Got bags of potential, made a few errors but recovered well. Inler - 7.5 - Played well, certainly got something to offer to this side. Kante - 6 - First time he has been bang average this season. King - 8 - Best midfielder today, calls to start next home? Gray - 7.5 - Can see him being quality, looks better than Knocky and Mahrez did when they first signed. He has years on them as well. Ulloa - 6 - He seems to struggle to rotate his body, had a few chances though. Dyer - 6 - tried, but was not really a threat. Okazaki - 7.5 - Good goal, although he did get a bit lucky i must say. Albrighton - 7 - Did well.
Raw Dykes Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Anyone know what happened to the match ratings threads with polls attached? I thought they were great. Haven't seen one for a while now. I guess the member who made them has lost interest or is no longer able to do them. Is there anyone else who is willing to take the baton if that's the case? I'd do it myself but I work on Saturdays. Maybe there's some way we could share the work out somehow. Maybe by designating one member for each match on a rota or something. If we get enough people involved, we might only have to do one or two matches a season each. Maybe we could have a pinned thread with instructions on it. Just an idea.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Motm easily Wasyl I think and Okazaki would maybe have got it if he started. Chilwell did OK but no better than six or seven out of ten. Thought he started little slowly
shen Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Motm easily Wasyl I think and Okazaki would maybe have got it if he started. Chilwell did OK but no better than six or seven out of ten. Thought he started little slowly They all did, including your MOTM Wasyl who made a shocking tackle in a compromising area.
My Nads Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 I think everybody is going a little over the top about Chilwell's performance. He had a good game. I wouldn't say anyone had a better rating than 7-7.5 to be fair, but we are happy with the away performance our reserves put in against a good side, so I can understand how some of us are getting a bit adventurous with the ratings! It was the first time Chilwell played at that level and you wouldn't have known it. He is definitely a great prospect, no doubt about it. I can see Fuchs being moved to CB and Chilwell playing LB next reason. I'm giving Shinji man of the match. His goal was great and he (along with the formation) changed the whole look of the team and he has shown No9 is where he is the most affective. I think he will be even better on Saturday with his new confidence.
ramadaone Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 How anyone can give a rating from watching the BBC coverage is beyond me For those of you who gave De Late a higher mark than Chilly then your optical impediment is much worse than you first thought
Dickov22 Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 Kasper 6 Poor for the goal De Laet 6 Out of position too often in the first half but as their attacks were mainly from Rose, Dyer has to take some responsibility. Very good second half Wasilewski 8 MOTM. Never been his biggest fan due to his reckless tackling but he was great. At half time I was worried he wouldn't make the full 90! Benalouane 7 Very decent and testament to him that he slotted in so well in a back 4 he's never played in Chilwell 6 A little careless in possession but some great blocks. Will be some player in the future Dyer 4 Woeful Inler 7 Best game he's had for us Kante 6 Quieter than usual King 8 Tidy in posession , broke up play well, had a hand in the goal. Great display and would be unlucky to miss out tomorrow Gray 6 Some promising runs and did well for his debut Ulloa 7 Awful first half but much better second with a striker partner. Even went on a dribble at one point! Subs Albrighton 8 I love him- never ever gives up Okasaki 7 What a goal. Hope we don't play with one up front again, never seems to work for us How anyone can give a rating from watching the BBC coverage is beyond me For those of you who gave De Late a higher mark than Chilly then your optical impediment is much worse than you first thought I'd say they had pretty even games. De Laet was much better second half
Fox92 Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 Kasper 6 Should have done better with the initial shot which led to Eriksen's goalDe Laet 6 Thought he grew into the game but again, switched off at points in the gameWasilewski 7.5 Not his biggest fan - dives in too much for me - but was solid for most of the game and committed tooBenalouane 7 Chilwell 7.5 Superb introduction Dyer 5 Rubbish and offered very little when tracking/defendingInler 8 MOTM Superb performanceKante 6 Think he was reserving some energy for the league fixture tomorrowKing 7 Tidy as perGray 7 Promising and often dangerous. Assist from a corner!Ulloa 7 Was superb second half when he had a strike partner. Horrid first half, looked very poor

I'd only give 7 to Chillwell, I thought that was quite an impressive display from such a young lad, I hope there's more to come from him. Schmeichel was more like 5.5 or 6 for me, I agree it was a bad day at the office for him but he had this one world class save later in the game that kind of made up for that first goal and his poor distibution, at least imo. Strange how much RDL improved in the second half while Dyer still struggled till the very end.
Grewks Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 Chilwell reminds me a bit of a young leighton baines type tbh.
