Vestan Pance Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Why am I not surprised that some support Sky Tv over their fellow fans? In fear of the corporations. Football was here before Sky and will be here after.
Aberdeenfox Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Football was not invented in 1992 AMF stand free
Lasty Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 RIP football. The game I used to love. Sky have ripped the soul clean out of it.
Bayfox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Sky are a big factor in the premier league being as good as it is. When you say good. I assume you mean competitive. Which of the world's elite play in the so called BPL cuz none got in fifas team of the year last week. Infact none of the bayern players got in and they are a dam sight better than most of what we have. Competitive yes. But at what cost.
kingcarr21 Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 This is why I drive or get the coach to away games. Completely avoids the issue of train ticket refunds when a game moves. I wouldn't go as far as saying Sky have ruined football but its a bit shit of them to move it when it was announced so long ago.
CosbehFox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Ask anyone from abroad what makes the 'EPL' so amazing, it's not the television coverage or the hype. They always say the stadiums and the fans. Without fans, clubs are nothing. We are the club.
chapero82 Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 You are all missing now but will you be moaning if we start signing top players? If it wasn't for sky we wouldn't have a load of millions to spend
Finnegan Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 I agree sky can be a shitter for regular fans but Transfer Talk is full of the same people frothing at the gash over the prospect of Aboubakar and Inaki Williams and whoever. How do you think we'd afford that sort of player from the continent without Sky? Can't have it both ways.
AKCJ Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Just up to the club to sort this mess out. Perfect chance to do free busses, free brekkie or a scarf on the seat. Let's get there and take this underdog mentality and do our bit for the team.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 I agree sky can be a shitter for regular fans but Transfer Talk is full of the same people frothing at the gash over the prospect of Aboubakar and Inaki Williams and whoever. How do you think we'd afford that sort of player from the continent without Sky? Can't have it both ways. It's not Sky's money, and it's baffling that people don't realise that. It's our money (well not mine, but anyone who pays). They fleece fans silly to buy their packages, and then screw them over for games. People thinking they make things better are nuts. We'd be fine without Sky...
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 BPL are to Sky what Top Gear was to the BBC...we'll sort of

If there wasn't Sky who have the coverage in Italy and Germany too alongside other European countries, then we'd be having the same conversations but without the inflated fees

We'd be "fine" yeah, football would exist without Sky, but the premier league wouldn't have the same investment. It isn't just our money, it's our money with a terrifying amount of advertising money from all over the world on top.

It isn't just our money, it's our money with a terrifying amount of advertising money from all over the world on top. Football as a sport wouldn't have the same investment. The playing field would still be level in terms of the money in the game, the players people are drooling over would still exist. Without full stadiums Sky wouldn't have a viable product to broadcast ,and they aren't prepared to acknowledge the huge inconvenience they're causing to the very people who make their programmes marketable - let alone compensate them for it. That's why the hate for Sky, that's why people want to sing about how much they hate Sky.
Walshie is God Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 quick question to you all..... Who actually has Sky tv? Do any of you moaning about them pay them each month? The way to stop it is to cancel your subscriptions to sky sports, then they might listen if the other 15 million viewers do the same.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 It is difficult to understand why switches cannot be announced earlier seeing as BT, Sky etc will have planned these live games days or weeks ago.......you would not get concerts, theatre etc being moved at all and these days football is expensive. Sad state of affairs that the people that make the game great get forgotten .......not sure why fellow fans would not sympathise for those that do follow the team away!!! This game should of been included in Sky's fixture schedule when they announced their TV games a few weeks ago, stating the bloody obvious it's the current top 2 sides in the Prem, and were back when the original Sky games were announced for Feb, it's not as if we've just arrived at the top of the table, Sky have messed up big time.

Sky don't really care about full stadiums, they plough money into cricket and that's played in front of a lot of empty seats.

That's why the hate for Sky, that's why people want to sing about how much they hate Sky. Oh believe me, I understand why people hate Sky. Completely. The current Arsenal case is a great example. Murdoch's a right conning bastard. But my point still stands. The ridiculous disparity in wealth between the premier league and continental Europe is the reason we can seriously look at courting Porto and Sporting's better players, why Stoke can splash the cash on Shaqiri, why there'll be an even bigger influx over the next two years now the bounty has gone up. In a world without television revenue, where the playing field is more even, why would any of these top stars come to Leicester City? I'm not saying that's the most important thing but it's certainly what a lot of the forum is excited about at the moment.
JPM1983 Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 BPL are to Sky what Top Gear was to the BBC...we'll sort of Unless someone at Sky forgets to sort out Jamie Carragher's dinner?
kimsalabim Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Sky are a big factor in the premier league being as good as it is. Yes. Sky are a massive factor in advertising the best of the Premier League by having Newcastle on TV every week. By the end of the season they will have had nearly 50 per cent of their games televised.
Fox92 Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 'We all hate Sky' is pretty simple too. Gotta get something going.
Strokes Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 You are all missing now but will you be moaning if we start signing top players? If it wasn't for sky we wouldn't have a load of millions to spend It's all relative though isn't it, the players wouldn't cost as much if it wasn't for TV revenue.
fuchsntf Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Hating Sky, Hating horrible news at the breakfast table, Hating seeing sports from all around the world, Hating pundits, pedictors, reporters, snotty nosed jounalists, hating forums, opponents fans. Hating social media, Hating the hating. Willing to enjoy all advantages of the big wheels success of delivering all these wonders to our living room, telephone, tablet even on the train or on the beach.Hating the money thats made, when they successfully deliver flexability and your wishes. Mistakes, thoughtless descisions, part and parcel of our lives .In this topic a complaint taken on, and postively dealt with, in most cases. Thats what I love about hate.....
