Stoke City (h) post match thread 3 - 0

For parts of the second half we looked like our old selves and Vardy scoring capped off a fantastic performance against a really solid side. Only worry is Shinji's injury. Hope it's nothing serious.

Because he's a tw@t

It's beginning to grate given we're supposedly to be one of the 30 "richest" football clubs in the world according to one accountant's assessment. And considering there nothing "little" about Leicester as a City, or Leicester City as a club anymore. In sporting terms I'd say Leicester was one of the world's grander cities, and there's a lot more to the place that just sport.

Also, Okazaki and Fuchs were impressive. Fuchs is such a solid and intelligent defender, and seems a real team player. Rather like Wazilewski, he seems to have a fan club that follows him. I came across some of these after the Arsenal match.

Yeah, seeing us without Fuchs in mid week, confirmed he is one of our irreplaceable players. He's fantastic.

So much better today, especially second half. We looked fresh again. I said after the Tottingham cup match that if we beat Stoke to get 7 points from 3 games, we would forget the Villa and cup match very quickly.

Much as I like the FA cup, we have a clear vision now. Arsenal have C/L, FA cup and P/L. Man City the same, plus the league cup, Tottingham E/L FA cup and P/L, Man Utd, P/L and FA cup. These are all distractions and we can rest up whilst these other teams battle out a lot more games than we've got, they risk injuries or suspensions.

This really is a huge chance for us. The next three matches will be crucial for confidence.

I wont ever forget the Villa result! When the season done and dusted, I will be thinking back to the Villa game and thinking if we had only just won that game, we would have won the league...by 9 points and not just 7! ffs

Another great performance by Simpson and people still think he's gash when De Laet has had about 2 decent games in about 4 years.

Made a very talented team look incredibly poor for the last 60 minutes. Immense credit to the lads who worked their socks off.

Leicester outplayed Stoke and didn't give them a chance to play their normal game. Also massive tactical win for CR.

Special mention for Kante who was fantastic.

Next three matches could define our season, we can go into them with real confidence, with the best squad of players I have seen in my 53 years supporting the city.

Totally agree. I cringe when I watch De Laet play. He's made a career out of the fact he is fast.

Brilliant performance, the attacking intent was there throughout, much better.

I said last week we are at our best when Drinkwater & Kante control the midfield, they were dominant today, absolutely excellent. Okazaki deserves a lot of praise today, he is improving game by game, hopefully his knock isn't too serious. The defence were rarely troubled again, Fuchs the pick of the bunch out of the back five for me, very good going forward and very good defensively.

Will go back to Kante again though, the guy is absolutely phenomenal, the best midfielder I've seen in a Leicester shirt.

Nice to get back to winning ways, roll on Liverpool :)

As I said in my post last night, we have quickly established ourselves. All teams no matter how good, have off days.

Keep the faith, and think positively. Yes it really is me saying this!  lol

Well done all round, and another great result.

Drinkwater and in particular Kanté ran that game. Superb.

Loved the intensity today. We still kept our shape and defended deep when needed but got out and pressed when the time was right.

He's not the worst player in the world but it's funny how people go on about his attacking threat when he can barely even control a football never mind cross it.

Fantastic performance. Leicester didn't as much go right out and punch Stokein the face as they did lure them into traps in the midfield. As soon as Stoke brought the ball anywhere near the midfield line, Leicester hunted in packs (led by the consistent Kanté) and fought like hell to win it back. Time and time again, Stoke's midfielders and wingers were bullied off the ball. As soon as Stoke found out that we were up for a street fight in the midfield, they lost all will to compete.

Imagine that--our small (aside from Huth and Morgan) lineup went out and beat the piss out of Stoke City. My, how times have changed.

I'd also say our back four's timing on challenges and headers was impeccable. There was a little confusion on Joselu's good chance (which he should have buried), but thankfully, Kasper was up to the task. Aside from that, I don't think Stoke even had a thought about creating a scoring opportunity in the last 70 minutes of that game, much less a shot.

A few hours ago all hope was lost because our b team lost to Spurs' b team, hell even at 1-0 today all hope was lost because Ulloa came on.

Now everyone's excited that we're a quality side again because we beat a Stoke team missing key players and with one eye on the cup.

This place.

(Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we're not a quality side I just wish people wouldn't forget that so easily.)

Hi lads,

Went to a butterfly farm in stratford upon avon today with the kids, got back in the car and checked the result to see we were winning 2-0... Maybe I should get an annual pass and go there every saturday we play? haha! What a result! What happened to Shinji? Nothing serious I hope. COYB!!
