Leicester_Numan Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 With Vardy training properly and nearing full fitness, our pressing game is back. I said in another thread that the defensive game was just common sense while Vardy was struggling a bit. It might not have been pretty or as exciting but we only lost once during that period. It's just a shame that we didn't have another striker of Vardy's calibre to call on. Today was us back to our best, against a weakened Stoke maybe but they weren't even in it.
Vicki Vixen Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 When the opposition brings on Peter Odemwingie, that's when you know the points are in the bag.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 I don't know the rules on this but goals... Drinky https://streamable.com/xw5k Vardy https://streamable.com/5qtm Ulloa https://streamable.com/oc4u from reddit Thank you Richard. I'm a season ticket holder on a weekend away. That makes very good viewing before a night out!
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 #cleansheetarmy Our defence is the ducks nuts I swear Morgan has eyes in the back of his head. Every time a decent looking cross comes in he just shuffles out the pack and wallops it to safety, cool as you like
chrishlcfc Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Good performance. Stoke were well below par. Kante man of the match, Simpson won a couple of great headers one of the most under rated players in the team.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Yep, Stoke were well below their best, but we went for them from the off and kept the energy levels high and remained on the front foot throughout. They may have had a bad day, but I'm sure we had plenty to do with that. Saw a bit self belief and confidence thats been rather sparse on some recent occasions.Yes it's all about what we do. I notice that whenever we win the opposition are below their best! Today Garth Crooks basically put our win down to Shawcross's injury. Yes thats it Garth. Consider - Stoke's biggest defeat of season?
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 It's just a shame that we didn't have another striker of Vardy's calibre to call on. If we had such a player we'd probably be 20 points clear the top by now
smudger63 Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Much more like our old selves today, pressing from the front, and playing the game on the front foot, which we are much better suited too. Mahrez and Vardy, and the whole team looking like they have their mojo back. Let the good times roll!
Matt Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Quality stuff, and without taking anything away from them, I don't think we even played our best! Stoke were poo! Excellent stuff, i'm starting to really believe! It's great to be back after our 'blip'.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Superb performance today. Our energy and intensity was top notch. We're such a better side playing attacking football, we didn't sit back today and this is what happened, we were sensational. So many contenders for MOTM. Drinkwater, Kante and Okazaki were immense. I'll probably choose Kante for MOTM but Drinkwater and Okazaki equally as good. Having said that, the team as a whole were just phenomenal today, great performance levels from each player today. Okazaki I was really impressed with once again, tidy turns and nice close control. Seems to be in great form, just hope he is ok after having to go off. Good for Vardy getting back on the scoresheet again, hopefully that'll give him some more confidence heading into the other upcoming games, a lovely finish too. And, also happy for Ulloa netting today, good positioning for the goal. Hopefully having 2 strikers on the scoresheet will only help their morale heading into the other games. Another clean sheet, plus 3 goals. Wonderful for the goal difference, and that can be important come the end of the season. Defensively solid again, really impressive performance from the back line today. Top of the Premier League again, it's what makes Saturday night's the best.
Robin JD Popley Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Best home performance since Chelsea easily. In fact, think that was arguably our most complete 90 minutes of the season - looked completely in control from start to finish. (The pundits may even now admit, we have a chance of winning the league!)
Clever Fox Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 I used to think Crooks new what he was talking about now I'm not so sure. What a ridiculous statement to make. I guess he's just another begrudger who cannot accept that we are one of the best teams this season. Although I will acknowledge They may have had one eye on the Capital cup 2nd Leg.
murphy Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 A few hours ago all hope was lost because our b team lost to Spurs' b team, hell even at 1-0 today all hope was lost because Ulloa came on. Now everyone's excited that we're a quality side again because we beat a Stoke team missing key players and with one eye on the cup. This place. (Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we're not a quality side I just wish people wouldn't forget that so easily.) Yes, it's a forum. A place to express views and opinions on events as they happen. Why don't people get that?
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 This is a key win considering the opposition we come up against in the next couple of games. If we can come through those matches relatively ok, then we can well and truly believe the title is possible in my opinion. I'm buzzing if we finish in the top four itself.
foxes161 Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 If we can get 4 points from next 3 we are in good shape. We need to beat Liverpool
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Wow... The Stoke forum. We were shit apparently, and won't be top long playing like that. They should stick to talking about things they know something about. Cups and saucers, and all that jazz.
NewEnglandFox Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Merson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaW6bP9Mu3k
BecauseOfBoxingDay Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 That's more like it, back to the old attacking Leicester. Immense performances from Kante and Drinky. Loved the tactics on their corners too, leaving three of our players on the half way line - just waiting to counter-attack. Nice break for the lads until the next game now, three more points please.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Leaving 3 men up at their corners completly mind fvcked stoke. It nearly mind ****ed me! the box looked really empty on corners. It has to help KP, I suppose. Is that a new thing for us?
atomicfox Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 I've been getting a little nervous of late but the wheels are well and truly back on after this result.
sdb Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Have a weird superstition about posting in player rating threads but wanted to say somewhere that basically everyone was 8 or 9 out of 10 today. Kante and Drinky especially. Have to say even if we win the league we'll do well to keep N'Golo. He is not human.
Carl the Llama Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Yes, it's a forum. A place to express views and opinions on events as they happen. Why don't people get that? Exactly and it's my opinion that people spitting their dummies out this past week and talking as though the season's over was a mite premature to put it kindly. Perhaps you should share your views and opinions with us more regularly to show me how to use a forum correctly.
iamafox Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 I'm really pleased that we won today. Not just to get back on the winning track but to silence the pundits who were doubting our title chances after 1 win in 7 games. We've responded to them in the perfect fashion with a brilliant performance. Kudos to Vardy for ending his goal drought and I'm hoping he will go on another goal-scoring run and surpass his record
NewEnglandFox Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 9 points from 9 from Mike Dean this season. 4 wins on the bounce.
