weller54 Posted 24 January 2016 Author Posted 24 January 2016 Lets just see what happens, no one can predict who will win or what will happen. Mathematically most teams can still win the premier league. I hate when news starts talking about a four/there/two horse race. We forget how many games we lost last season and where Leicester were it only takes something like that to push them down the table. As far as I'm concerned it's an 18 horse race Can't see Newcastle winning it to be honest!?
Bamba's Babes Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 If you don't think we can win the league then you're deluded.
HighPeakFox Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Blind negativity replaced by guaranteed top 4 after one game. There must be a dozen or so on here who literally turn 180 after every game. Literally? You sure about that?
Happy Fox Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Hand on heart I don't know who will win it. But we have a f**king unbelivable chance, write us off at your peril, champions league is secondary to me at this moment in time. Winning the League is very possible, if we can add that elusive Goalscorer to our team in addition to Vardy then the SKYs the limit we can dream, and thanks to Claudio and the players for making this dream a reality. WYS!
WesMorganGod Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 People are really downplaying the fact that we ONLY have the league games to play and focus on, where all the others in top 4 have MASSIVE european games to play and FA cup games. its a huge advantage, we will be fresh every week and ready, and they will all be playing many many many more games. we will slip up at times in the next 15, but so will all of them, I am convinced.
Clever Fox Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 The fact that we have only one goal or target for the rest of the season is a huge advantage. Where'as the other challengers all have to change focus every midweek. Add to that trying to keep players fit and fresh while trying to also keep picking up points in the league. Which is why I believe we will never have a better chance than now to win the League.
ScouseFox Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 its a one horse race always has been like i said
FireFox Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 They said it is a 3 horse race on NBCSN. They excluded Tottenham.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 We can win it, we really can, but if we don't win it lets make sure we finish top 3 and avoid the qualification spot.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 After our next 3 fixtures we've got a pretty sweet run in. If we don't win it, Man City will.
Webbo Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 We can win it, we really can, but if we don't win it lets make sure we finish top 3 and avoid the qualification spot. Who cares about the qualification spot? We'll get the second placed team in the Albanian league or similar. Worse comes to worse we'll get Europa league.
martyn Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Who cares about the qualification spot? We'll get the second placed team in the Albanian league or similar. Worse comes to worse we'll get Europa league. Not sure about that, chances are we'd get a decent side as we go the "non league champions route". Someone posted a list the other day that showed who we would likely face if leagues ended today (and assuming we don't win the league). Inter, Villarreal, PSV, Monchengladbach plus other tough teams were in it.

Worse comes to worse we'll get Europa league. nah the way it works we would be unseeded on the non-champions side of the draw, so drawn to play a seeded team on the non-champions side of the draw. aka the teams qualifying from italy, spain, germany, turkey etc. this season our options would've been valencia, leverkusen, sporting lisbon or shakhtar, and the other team was united to someone like lazio would have been seeded instead of us. we are probably f ucked if we only finish fourth but like you say what a time to be alive when we are going to have to settle for the europa league

I do because it's the difference between automatic qualification to the Champions League or a potentially tricky qualifying tie, so you're saying taking where we are right now that you'd be happy with the Europa League?

At the start of the season I'd have took fourth from bottom. I'm not going to moan about having to qualify for the Champs League.
Reg Vardy Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 We just need to get over ourselves a bit.....yesterday's performance was as good as anything I have seen in 53 years of watching them.....top of the league, a really good run in.......we will finish where we finish, but disappointed if we don't finish third......give over.....fantastic achievement already....

Yes, so would I, but I'm looking at where we are now, expectations have changed beyond our wildest dreams, 4th would be an amazing achievement but considering our current position we should realistically be looking at the top 3 and guaranteeing Champions League.
Dawko Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 3 or 4 points from the next 3 games it will all be done and dusted. The last 12 games we'll be on cruise control.
Livid Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 I stood on the kop at the end of the game yesterday and the only reason I could think of as to why we couldn't win it is that the Premier League doesn't do fairy tales. I think one of the three ugly sisters surrounding us will ruin our dream.
Dan Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 I just cannot get my head around the way some people talk as if Arsenal are in the driving seat. They're renowned bottlers, they haven't won it since 2004 and they aren't even top of the league. Man City, for me, are favourites, simply because I think player for player they're the best - but they keep slipping up. Yesterday looks a good point for them, but it's two less than we got from that fixture.

MC Prussian Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Who cares about the qualification spot? We'll get the second placed team in the Albanian league or similar. Worse comes to worse we'll get Europa league. We could potentially still drop out of the Champions League and Europa League spots... Potentially. Anything is possible in this madness of a Premier League season. Even Vardy and Mahrez finishing with 20+ goals apiece.
Rincewind Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 ATM we desrerve it. But life sometimes life and football is not fair. So shrug your shoulders and say 'C'est le vie'
Guest Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Can't see Newcastle winning it to be honest!? Newcastle will boss it! Maybe I over exaggerated and it's a 10 horse race
