Guest Col city fan Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Just listened (suffered) to Durham's 'daily rant' on talk sport. The subject was Robert Huth's free-kick. Durham was making the argument that if we don't get top four, or win the league, on account of goal difference (one goal), will we look back at the horrendous (funny?) free-kick that Huth took and wonder what might have been if another player had taken it and it had gone in? Was it funny, unwise, or what? Opinions please....
ScouseFox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 we havent scored a free kick for about a decade, we may as well get a laugh out of them missing rather than just side foot it into the wall/5 yards over the bar like we usually do edit - i think there are bigger things to go horribly wrong if we are to miss out on 4th anyway. mahrez's pens for example...
Mikey Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 If that's the only thing pundits/journos have got to pick fault with, no wonder we're so f*****g good.
EnderbyFox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Was absolutely stupid from Adrian Durham (Yet again) If we do miss out on goal difference I'm sure we'll be more pissed off about Mahrez' missed penalties than a fvcking freekick from 25 yards out.
FireFox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Could easily also blame the second time (third in total) Mahrez missed a penalty, which probably would have given us 2 points. Or we would blame the one time Morgan made a mistake (and lost 2 points?) Or any other mistakes...
Fox92 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Looking far too into it. Missed penalties are what I'd look back upon not a stupid free kick.
WardyisPukka Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Hate this man - talks absolute bollocks just for a response desperate to be noticed as a pundit but only being noticed as a first class ****
filbertway Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Adrian Durham, don't even get wound up by anything that guy says haha. He's probing for reactions.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Bit pathetic that they're using that to criticise us, what about guilt edged chances that are missed in lot's of games by every single team? I'd be embarrassed to bring that up as a reason for potentially not winning the league. So bitter.
Corky Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 What the actual fvck? A missed free-kick in a 3-0 win constituted a part of a radio show? What utter bollocks.
goose2010 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 slow news day on talk sport?! what a ridiculous comment,
STUHILL Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 What a load of shite. I actually thought it was hilarious and if anything, a moment like that probably increases the spirit in the squad. Imagine the next training session and the piss taking going on, especially from Vardy.. We have no decent free kick taker anyway so highly unlikely would have scored. If it comes down to goal difference at the end of the season, I'm sure more people will be talking about the missed penalties rather than one missed free-kick. Eder will be our free kick taker hopefully..
Buzzell Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Adrian Durham talking absolute shite as per usual. What if Mahrez would of scored them penos? We would of been 9 points clear at the top with better goal difference. Made me laugh about the rant of giving Vardy the peno against Watford for his record. He scored the peno FFS
NewEnglandFox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Not even a top 5 dropped points situation for me. And it's only a GD issue which discounts it even more. Ask anyone if they'll take 3 points and +2 GD in a game and they'll rip your hand off. Now we're supposed have an opinion on the difference between 1 goal with no impact on the points? Huh?
Dan Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 The bloke makes a living out of deliberately spouting complete nonsense to get people to ring up and bite. It's no big deal. No-one is genuinely that thick.
AKCJ Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 The bloke makes a living out of deliberately spouting complete nonsense to get people to ring up and bite. It's no big deal. No-one is genuinely that thick. This. Their job is to make discussion and you're all proving just how easy it is to do.
RedSoxUK Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Remember, Waghorn missed a penalty vs Cardiff too - not just the chippy Frenchman. Huth's mistake which would very unlikely have nestled itself in the top corner (when it was 2 - 0 anyway.. we still bloody scored a 3rd) has nothing, not one regret on the season at the end or right now. Failing to beat Villa away when we really should have been 0 - 2 up? Yeah that's regrettable. Might as well talk about a stray pass which.. could've gone to the wing which could've gone to Vardy, which could've gone in to get us another goal. Doesn't make a difference. We won't look back on that, Huth isn't going to be thinking 'oh I could've improved our goal difference...' he's part of a defence that has just got yet another clean sheet.
MPH Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 If we miss out on the premier league title by one goal then there are countless other directions (sitters missed, refereeing decisions) we can place our anger/frustration. Winning 3-0 at Home to Stoke should not be one of them.
Lestoh Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 It's one of those moments that makes it into the end of season Youtube video. And when it does, I will laugh again.
AKCJ Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 The funny thing is that we have to drop points to lose the title so the argument is irrelevant anyway.
Corky Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 I think Durham should say it to his face. And tell Wasyl that he's shit.
