formidable1 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 the fact that you've edited this and managed to not fix it is amusing. read it back slowly. I added the word more, I have no need to back trackAdel Tarabat is hardly black though is he.No but he is from the sub continent. No one said black until the PC brigade jumped in.
sphericalfox Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 I added the word more, I have no need to back track No but he is from the sub continent. No one said black until the PC brigade jumped in. i give up.
KFS Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Can we steer this back on track before this gets totally fvcked up in here? I think you'll find any question about his attitude is over the types of clubs that he's joined. Absolutely ridiculous suggestion that race is a contributor.
desertfox2 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 I added the word more, I have no need to back track No but he is from the sub continent. No one said black until the PC brigade jumped in. Think you are missing the point read back slowly what you wrote
Nick Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 So in this thread we have casual racism and in the Musa thread, endless comments about Nigerian age ratios. I'm beginning to wish we were still in the cup so the morons would have somewhere else to be.
ktfox59 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Even if we do get him, he will be 3rd or 4th choice. I think he will play in the event of Vardy getting injured rather than the deeper Okazaki/Leo role. What's also worth considering is that quite often he plays up front on his own. Partnering up in a 442 could show us another side to him. there is no way on earth he would be 2nd third or forth choice. Why would he sign? And he is without doubt an upgrade on Leo and shinji when fit
desertfox2 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 I added the word more, I have no need to back track No but he is from the sub continent. No one said black until the PC brigade jumped in. You mean African then? I'm which case for every Adebayor and taraabt there's a Drogba or Mahrez

His ability is great, his attitude isn't a problem, but it is his injury problems im concerned about
formidable1 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 You mean African then? Yes, subcontinent was the wrong area of the world.

I'm beginning to wish we were still in the cup so the morons would have somewhere else to be. Something is wrong if people aren't allowed to make a connection based on reported incidents because there happens to be a higher percentage of non whites that make up those stats.
desertfox2 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Yes, subcontinent was the wrong area of the world.Formidable1 for foreign minister If most Africans are lazy with bad attitudes how come they always win marathons?
FoxinNotts Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 I hope we sign him. I can't see any negatives. His attitude is fine. It's a myth about him being a wrongun. He's a good player, valued correctly IMO. We not desperate for strikers at the moment. We're not exactly lacking goals. However, I think we should have four class strikers at the club. Remy certainly fits the bill for me.
Jordan Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 That's really sad you would randomly bring someone's color into it...I'm not doing anything randomly. Don't agree that race has anything to do with anything, probably more to do with demeanour rather that it being, what your suggesting as a racist thing, or at best stereotyping. Me personally, I would prefer a younger, less injury prone player in, but the way our attempts to bring in a striker appear to be going, I would accept him as a short term player, as he is better than Leo and Okazaki, IF fit. I would say it's more a "stereotyping" thing. There isn't a pile of evidence to prove that Rémy is either a selfish player or a lazy player, and yet he's saddled with that baggage. It's classic bullshit stereotyping. As for what kind of player we bring in, I don't mind Rémy coming in on a short-term deal, because if he stays healthy, he's a good and proven talent at this level. I think the club would have preferred either a player that can cut inside from the right (someone that's more of an inside forward as opposed to Gray being an inverted winger or Albrighton being a wide midfielder) or a younger forward, but business is tough in January. I think they'll address the need to get a younger forward this summer, for sure. I think what he was getting at is that in recent years there have been more reported incidents of lazy/ bad attitude in players from the sub continent than other areas. That of course isn't suggesting there aren't loads of white players with shite attitudes and sick notes in back pockets. Adebayor and Anelka, fine examples. I wouldn't put it those exact terms, but that's close to what I'm getting at. Charlie Austin has had some injury problems, has had some shady stuff going on with proposed transfers and medicals, makes his personal life a big factor in his deals (not that I can really blame him) and has even been convicted of assault and doesn't get even 1/100th of the negative image from fans that Rémy does. Now, I'm not saying Austin should be given shit, not at all. It's just ridiculous that people will fill in the blanks for one player and not the other.
formidable1 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 You mean African then? I'm which case for every Adebayor and taraabt there's a Drogba or Mahrez Was the point not about reported cases of bad attitude/ laziness? Why have you just done that?
The Doctor Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Can we steer this back on track before this gets totally fvcked up in here? I think you'll find any question about his attitude is over the types of clubs that he's joined. Absolutely ridiculous suggestion that race is a contributor. More than that - when he joined QPR, Newcastle were in for him and had a bid accepted by all reports, but he didn't turn up for talks, then signed for QPR when they were offering stupid money (a club who he had said he wasn't interested in). The immediate take-away from that would be money orientated (and I'd question the professionalism of someone who just didn't turn up for talks - not even say he wasn't interested, just not turn up).
desertfox2 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Was the point not about reported cases of bad attitude/ laziness? Why have you just done that? I have a warped sense of humour is all
Guest LCFC_World Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Decent player, but I have to feel he's not a signing that we'd usually make.. He seems like the kind of player that's on huge wages and has high demands. Hopefully I'm wrong and he's got a good attitude - but I don't want him to unsettle the team.

ozleicester Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 great player, happy to have him. edit, 8 in 28 at Chelsea.... id be happy with that
foxes21 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Spurs signing Moussa Dembele. Honestly I'd prefer we got someone young like Musa!
Jordan Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 It's not about being PC just seemed a strange thing to bring up. Joey Barton is white and he's a cnutJoey Barton has been such a huge cnut at many times during his career that calling him a cnut actually sounds like a rather mild insult for him. Barton's gotten up to things that only a rather tiny amount of footballers have done, so he's very much an outlier, almost on his own level, and not a good example to use as a comparison to anybody. No, he was alluding to reported cases that we know about and the facts are we hear of more black players having apparent issues. No racism , just stats. Edit to take out because I put in kind of a rude comment after misreading
formidable1 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 I have a warped sense of humour is allThat certainly isn't a conventional attempt at humour in my eyes.I was commenting on poor attitudes and laziness, not how many other players have good attitudes and aren't lazy, it was a poor attempt at suggesting I was pigeon holing African players.

I don't think you know what "stats" are. No but I can read reported stories, see what the said player is doing now and make the connection between the likelihood of the story having credence.
