Jordan Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Just to be clear, I'm not accusing any individual FTer of being racist and I want Rémy to be given a fair shake if this supposed transfer goes through. Personally, I think he's an excellent striker and a good fit for our counterattacking style if he's fit. And I have no problem with him playing clubs like Ashley's Newcastle and the "Five Year Plan"/ Harry-era QPR like fiddles in a transfer. But I've already said a lot in this thread and caused a mini firestorm that I would have rather not have done. Sorry y'all. So with that, I'll stop the posting unless a random stroke of fate gives me some ITK knowledge.

And I've not accused anybody of anything--I've just pointed out a trope in football. Other people have gotten awfully defensive about my post, though. You've accused people of being casually racist. It effectively means the same thing. I agree that the people assuming their suspicions to be true are being silly but you see that happen in all areas of football. "We'll definitely lose to Arsenal" was written on this forum this week, you see fans write players off after seeing them for the first time, people said that our game against West Brom last season was a 'must win' game and meant it (that was the home game btw!). For some reason fans like to speak in certainties rather than be humble and admit they don't really know. Perhaps you should do the same here.
