Loic Remy

His goalscoring record at Newcastle - the only team in England where he was a consistent regular - was very good.

He has scored goals in the Premier Leagie, he is familiar with England and English football.

Absolutely this.

I understand people getting carried away with some of the names we're linked to but Remy would be a great signing and less of a gamble than someone who hasn't played in the prem before.

I like Ulloa, but Remy is clearly an upgrade on him

I think Ben Jacobs  used to work for radio Leicester

Loic Remy is set to sign for Leicester after Chelsea accepted a bid from the Premier League leaders. (Daily Star)

Most of these came after that Ben Jacobs... I'm still calling bullshit until a proper journo says something.

So his worst run is a goal every three games? I'll have him! They're solid numbers!

This signing actually makes a lot of sense it's low risk. He can score goals and anyone saying he is Dog shit well that's just not the case. When he has played regularly he has scored goals for fun and in the prem. He actually had the best goals to minutes ration in the league in 2015 believe it or not more than anyone. Play him and he will score goals

Actually really excited about this now. Get him in Claudio

Interestingly, the player with the best minutes-per-goals ratio (minimum five goals) this year was Chelsea striker Loic Remy, with the Frenchman having found the back of the net every 107.67 minutes.

Following close behind Remy is Bournemouth forward Callum Wilson with a goal to his name every 108.6 minutes, although sadly the 23-year-old's season was brought to a premature end through injury in September after playing just seven games.

Completing the top three most incisive frontmen in 2015 is another forward playing in the Premier League for the first time this season, Watford's Odion Ighalo, whose 14 goals have arrived at an impressive rate of one every 113.64 minutes.

From those who have played over 20 games in 2015, Sergio Aguero's goal every 117.21 minutes just pips Harry Kane (124.3 minutes).

When he was rejected by Liverpool after he failed a medical in August 2014, I suggested we should go for him (like we did for Frank Worthington in similar circumstances, back in the day). I had the pIss taken out of me at the time, but we might have got him for the £10.5 million which was his release clause from QPR.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure now, because I doubt he would do the tracking back and defending that our other strikers do. He does have PL experience, though, and a very good scoring record.

I'm calling bullshit... Still nothing from decent sources, other then rehashed stuff from the Espn bloke.

Same here. Not looking good is it

seems an odd choice for the club when you take into account the injury record

That's my biggest worry, has spent a lot of time with the medical staff and the Chelsea fans on their forum are saying it's great business for them, maybe a yes from me 4 or 5 years ago....

Up the Titty.....

Can't we have a pause button on this thread until a more credible source come along. One tweet from some random and most talking like it's happening.I've got bloody work to do you know.

Imagine - people getting wound up over the transfer of one of Chelsea's most effective strikers to Leicester City.

Would you rather have it the other way?

Years ago, this would've been an impossible thought and just shows how far we've come.

We've got a very good sports science and medical team to take care of him and if Rémy acts as our very own super sub, it'll all be worth it even more.

He would be an excellent signing as a 6 month loan, not convinced about a permanent deal especially as he then has less to prove after euro 2016. However will be happy if he signs and proves me wrong!

As a loan deal I can see the logic, but I still would have doubts over him fitting into our team spirit and work ethic. From what I've seen of him he doesn't press high, doesn't work his socks off, can only play as the forward not a number 10 or wide forward and has been involved in some of the most toxic dressing rooms in recent times. To sign him I could see his fee and wage demands potentially upsetting the dressing room.

He does offer goals and premier league experience, but I've always seen him as a footballing mercenary.

I trust Claudio and Walsh but until I see him play our way I will have doubts over his suitability, ones I wouldn't have over a younger, hungrier player that is more willing to learn and adapt.
