Those expecting big big names must remember that we are new to the EPL and spent most of last year at the botton. In addition, coming into a team that is top doesnt guarantee you first team football. Combine that with our club still trying to be frugal in deals then it was always going to be a tough. We just need a solid option in addition to what we already have. The summer will be in different i suspect

They say he is quick, defends well for the team, and is the best finisher at the club. Others say he is played to deep and would suit a team playing 4-4-2. I'm sure we have been linked with him before, and as mentioned our scouting team know there onions. Looks like a player that would slot straight into our side.

Not going to disagree with any of this but I don't see him as long term, given our current aspirations. Could he do a job backing up JV for the remainder of the campaign? maybe. would I take him if no one else is available? Probably. to bring no one in leave us so exposed if shinji picks up a knock.

Remy is obviously a better footballer than Gayle but it's very hard to imagine a Vardy/Remy partnership, much as it is a Vardy/Gayle front 2. If we're going to sign another quick goal scorer, they may well find their game time limited because of just how critical Vardy is to the way we play. Our biggest "problem" in the last couple of months is that Vardy is so critical to our style we've had to keep picking him trough injury and illness. Personally I'd have liked to have seen Okazaki in that position when Vardy's injured/tired but he's obviously nowhere near as quick and it's pace as well as work ethic which defines Vardy's role as the spearhead of the attack. Is Remy going to want to come here and risk being sat on the bench for the next 4 months ahead of the Euros? No. But Gayle would doubtless jump at the chance to move from a mid-table bench to the bench of a side challenging for the top 4. He's not perfect. He's not even particularly good. But he is quick, hard-working and might be exactly what we need.

Agree with this I do (yes I've been watching Star Wars) he's decent at what he does would give us another option off the bench although I don't think he's the striker we are looking for
