Footnote75 Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 Ever since we started playing well, the number of people coming up to me at work and wanting to have a chat has suddenly skyrocketed - everyone seems to want to tell me how good the team is, ask what I thought of certain goals, seek my opinion on how Leicester might play against their team...I get messages on social media from people I hardly know, people trying to contact me over Steam's messaging service - don't get me wrong, people do normally talk to me but this is bizarre!!
MATLCFC Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 My tinder profile is now just the club crest #kneedeep
Bryn Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 Some bird started giving me a blowie in the pub when she saw the shirt. Paid for itself.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 I'm getting credit from my Bournemouth mate. He's a top man, very knowledgable. But, even going into the usual working week it makes it so much easier knowing the club you've supported for years is top of English football.
M0901 Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 Some bird started giving me a blowie in the pub when she saw the shirt. Paid for itself. This is brilliant
AKCJ Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 Since the ref blew the first Al whistle I must have had 10-15 texts of well wishers
Spiritwalker Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 Everyone at work used to hate me. Now I feel like I'm just slightly disliked.
WesMorganGod Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 Always been extremely popular but now a little more. Ego is through the roof
TeamRocket Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 Yeah its funny but true story theres a man city fan who works with me who all season was like if man city dont win he wants Leicester to win untill last week after Liverpool game and leading on to playing them. his tone soon changed saying man city will win and we are "lucky" and his man city will "beat us" back to where we "belong" i just said okay dude we aint trying to win the league we just playing for fun as we already did our check list and thats to get 40pt and he would go on and on so i just kept saying okay if you say so well I think he ain't gonna be happy this Sunday when i see him hahahaaa
glenelgfox Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 Yep 2.00am and my phone is going nuts! Lucky I am off FB!
MC Prussian Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 No one used to care about Leicester up until two years ago over here in Switzerland. People were following the Premier League because of the two Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool. I wouldn't call it "being more popular" at present, but the people I know tend to be a bit more respectful now compared to when we were in the Championship or before the Great Escape began.
I am Rod Hull Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 I think i`m less popular as I do tend to rub it in everyone`s face. Make hay while the sun shines
dedlock Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 It's just great that people know who we are. I was recently asked a security question along the lines "what is your favourite sports team?" When I replied the lady asking the question had no hesitation and what appeared to be a quiet chuckle rather than incredulity experienced in the past.
Danizen Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 Yeah. Loads of people I barely know have been messaging me. I've had a few ex-Man U/ex-Liverpool fans asking me for tickets for 'our' next game. Hahahahaha - **** off - Hahahahaha.
Izzy Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 Since the ref blew the first Al whistle I must have had 10-15 texts of well wishers Exactly this, it's bonkers. Since full time I've had texts and FB messages from mates who support Notts County, FOREST, Leeds, Liverpool, Blackburn, Ipswich, Luton and QPR all wishing us well and hoping we go on to win the league. It feels like we've got the good will of the whole country behind us right now. It's nuts...
Illusion35 Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 Also if you go anywhere wearing anything Leicester related! Was wearing just the small promotion pin badge on my coat the other day and so many people spoke to me, including complete strangers! Everyone loves LCFC!
keefpetrovic Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 I am a lifelong Arsenal fan (over 40 years). I want Leicester to beat us next week and win the league 100% Everyone I know wants Leicester to do it. Good luck, I think you will...
Rusko187 Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 In my office we have a Man U, Man C, Chelsea, Spurs, Everton and Liverpool fan.. It's going to be fun on Monday they were laughing last season.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 I work near to crystal Palace, and one of the guys I work with is an arsenal fan. He says we're giving him 'beef' now, hanging around too long, and that what used to fun is becoming annoying! I think outside of the traditional top 4 we're most people's favourites.
Hammered Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 I am a lifelong Arsenal fan (over 40 years). I want Leicester to beat us next week and win the league 100% Everyone I know wants Leicester to do it. Good luck, I think you will... If only this had been posted by a Spud
Great Boos Up Posted 6 February 2016 Posted 6 February 2016 Very popular as I travel round England for my job. Those who know me applaud my bragging rights, but those who don't think I'm a plastic. I'm trying to be humble but just so damn hard. I think the trick is to never slag off another team because oh my word I've bin there and worse.
