teblin Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 7 out of the last 12 at home , as been said Arsenal got some tough away games , still looking good . If we can win those 7 we won't be far away.
Guest Manini Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 If you feel remotely okay after that then 1). You're lying to yourself and 2). You're totally void of any ambition
Ian W LCFC Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 If you feel remotely okay after that then 1). You're lying to yourself and 2). You're totally void of any ambition Of course I was absolutely gutted for 10 minutes after, but then I checked the table and remembered our upcoming fixtures and I'm in a decent mood again. Top 3 is still what I'm after, and of course the title would be unreal.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Psychology it is difficult, we're ahead but Arsenal will feel like they have momentum. But as others have said, there's plenty of time left in the season. Let's enjoy the football - win, lose or draw we're still class. Key thing in this momentum thingy... we play first for the next two fixtures. At home to Norwich on the Saturday - Arsenal travel to Manchester United, Spurs play Swansea at home (Man City are otherwise engaged) on the Sunday At home to West Brom on the Tuesday afterwards - Arsenal play Swansea, Tottenham go to the Hammers, Man City go to Anfield on the Wednesday. We have a big chance to heap the pressure on the chasing pack over these two games, so fingers crossed we take those opportunities. Something else worth mentioning as well... the team in 5th didn't make any ground on us this week, the gap is still 12 points, with 12 to play.
dedlock Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 People need to keep perspective, you're right. Would we have taken 6 points from Liverpool, Man city and Arsenal? Too right. We're 2 points clear, we rest and go again. What will be will be, but nobody will be able to take this season from us, whatever happens it's been a remakable season and a brilliant time to be a foxes fan. I would have been happy with 3 or 4 points from these 3 games,so anything from today would have been a bonus. Disappointing to concede in 6th of 4 added minutes ( I know its minimum!) We have played both matches against the rest of top 4.Arsenal and Spurs have to play each other. We need to ensure we beat the lower teams.
Gary Eatfood Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Other teams play each other and will drop points. It's about us not losing as many points as them. No one from our side gets the blame for me. We almost kept an Arsenal team who were fantastic today, and got a point. Some of the defending was excellent and I for one still feel no different from the start of the day about our chances. If anything today has reinforced my belief about us being able to defend deep and fight. Everytime this group has gone through hardship we have come back fighting even harder. I thought Arsenal were crap today but they excelled at being a bunch of moaning prima donnas. The manner of the defeat was hugely disappointing but if I feel a sense of injustice I'm sure the players will. And with everyone in the media already beginning to write us off again I think this defeat will only galavanize us more.
Spiritwalker Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Before this game I predicted we would lose against Arsenal but still win the league. I just hope the manner of the defeat doesn't have a psychological impact on the team.
FantasticMrFox&Son Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Nine BIG points from Stoke, Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal. Today hurts like hell, but NINE BIG POINTS !! I'll take nine points from the next 4 games, and 9 from the next and nine more from the last 4 games. 80 points would be a good target.
hlz Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Imagine if we lost to man city but beat arsenal today. It's exactly the same but would have felt so much better. We have done what we needed. 3 points was more than enough from those 2 games
Guest kristianity77 Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Like has been mentioned elsewhere. Todays game was more about if Arsenal could remain in the title race or not. We are leading the race whether we won or lost. Also, out of the run ins, I'd pick ours any day of the week compared to the other three teams we are playing against. I'd like to think that like the Spurs cup game, Ranieri will have them in the dressing room and tell them to forget about it as if it never happened. I don't think the players will be gutted about this any more than just today. Sh*t happens sometimes and thats all it is. We matched them well today and if not for the sending off we might have hung on, or even scored again as Arsenal kept pushing forward for the equaliser. It was that fine a result....at Arsenal! We have Norwich up next, whilst Arsenal are away at Man Utd. Man U could easily get something from that and in fairness, we should really overturn Norwich. That puts the gap to Arsenal back to 4 or 5 points, right where we started. Suddenly, the loss at the Emirates means nothing, and we have two games less to play.
Daz93 Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Immediate reaction after the game was anger and disappointment but there's still a lot to play for and we've got a good run of fixtures as well as a two week break on the rest of them. Arsenal, Spurs and Man City all have European games in the week before as well. Whatever happens from now on the lads have been immense. However, I don't expect us to roll over now and fully expect us to come straight out of the traps against Norwich. Come on you Foxes!
hlz Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Another way of looking at it is we need to average 2 points a game over the season to pretty much guarantee a top 3 spot. Even if we draw against Norwich we are still averaging 2 points a game.
crisp packet Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 We won't be favourites , let them write us off. 70 mins for there 1st shot on target. We shall have a break , come back galvanised !! Our rivals still have to play each other. Next 9 games are huge? WE CAN DO THIS! Keep dreaming folks...
Captain... Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 If you want perspective just look at what followed, Villa 0-6 Liverpool
LCFC_Oak Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 In comparison to the first half of the season we are 8 points up against the same opponents...
coolcol Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 It's going to end in tears if you keep thinking we can win the title. Why not just enjoy the season, enjoy it game by game and whatever happens happens? I understand why you say that, but why be negative ? Claudio and team have not been negative throughout the season and I don't see any reason for that to change. Have you seen Arsenal's run in and they have the CL to contend with. Spurs run in is also not easy and they have a great chance of winning the EL so may use more of their first teamers in those games. All true winners always have a vision and a goal to aim at, and when you start accepting anything less than success that's when the wheels come off. Leicester for the Premier league....that's what I say
weller54 Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I just feel gutted and sick!! ..that last minute goal was just so cruel and unjust! ...such a long wait too to put things right against Norwich!
Corky Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Best perspective was singing Top of the League after the winning goal and on the way out. This team has done us proud and has shown more than enough in the last week to suggest we aren't going away quickly or quietly.
lgfualol Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Only just stopped being pissed off about it. Hope the players come back even more determined. I imagine Arsenal will buckle now they have pressure again. Not the end of the world
Tuna Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Sending off changed the game, we were on top before that. That's 2 favourable decisions for Arsenal in 2 games, Flamini should have walked last week against Bournemouth.
Livid Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 If you had offered me 6 points from the last three games I would have been ecstatic. A few things went against us today but that's football. Atkinson could have given Simpson a final warning but he didn't . Was maybe shouldn't have charged out but maybe they would have put the ball straight back in and scored anyway. We played well, more than matched them with 11 men and we move on in the season of our lives.
Goddard Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 5 more points than the first fixtures against these three sides. That's +5. Well on track to beat the first 19 games which would be incredible.
Wolfox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 We were awful after we lost against Arsenal last time weren't we?!!
Goddard Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I believe was went on a 10(?) game unbeaten run with something like 8 wins
