reasons i hate people

how could anyone say just sell king, simpson and james like they're nothing, genuinely contemptible

guarantee you'll be the first talking about lack of loyalty if riyad or vardy demanded a transfer

Loyalty in football is a great idea until it holds you back.

4 spots of the 25-man UEFA squad must be filled by players who have been at the club for 3 years before 21.

If we don't have those players, we lose those those spots.

Getting rid of King, Schlupp, and even Moore weakens our squad for Europe, even if they never play, better safe than sorry.

It's unlikely that King, Schlupp or Moore would play CL football.

It's unlikely that they'd play PL football if we were pushing for a top 4 place again.

I'd sooner replace them with quality players who can play first team football in both the PL and CL.

A good 25 man squad for the PL and a good 19 man squad for the CL.

people think inler, benny and kramaric will be moved on so easily?

A) they havent been in the shop window much

B) we will play 38 PL games next year, a minimum of 6 CL games & travelling + a minimum of 2 cup games.

There's no way the current way we play can be sustained over that period.

we'll either burn out or other teams will catch up and work us out (esp the CL teams) . thats where the different styles and capabilities of our foreign signings above may well be very useful (in addition to other players we sign)

Posts like this make me nervous.

We will play a minimum of 6 CL games??

We ain't qualified for Jack sh1t yet, and yet everybody's counting the extra Euro games we'll have to play.

Each to their own mate but as Leicester fans have we not learnt that football throws some mad sh1t results out during the last third of the season?

The core of this squad went through a God awful run only a few years back, and although I'm confident it won't happen, I'm not convinced it can't happen again.

36 points to play for, ECL is absolutely, in no way whatsoever a guarantee.

Talk about possible signings all you want, but don't try telling us how many games we'll be playing, because like the rest of us, you haven't got a Crystal ball.

I miss Schlupp.

We certainly haven't.

A few strange things in this thread, why on earth would we just move away from a strategy that has taken us this far, if we were ever going to make a break the bank high money signing then the transfer window just gone was the time to do it, no need now, we should just carry on the path we are going.

The guy who wants wholesale changes to the squad, wtf? These guys have taken us to the "next level" - we are top of the league, we don't need two high class centre halves, we already have two, Man City have been searching for one high class centre half for about 5 years to play alongside Kompany and despite spending about 100 million they still haven't found one.

We will need another striker, maybe a right back and a couple of squad players next season, we really won't need much more, the players will have to get used to playing 45 games a season at the top level in the same way all top players have to.

37 appearance between them in possibly our best even season. Nah he's right we should probably sell up  lol

There is no such thing as loyalty in football. There used to be. Not now.

IF we make Champs League, I'm sure the manager will simply do what any manager would do and assess his squad. He'd look to offload those players he didn't feel were up to progressing in the campaign and keep those that were.

Personally, I'd let Inler go like a shot. I'd look to replace Ulloa with a top quality striker and I'd look to bring in a younger centre back with pace. I'd retain Simpson and look to sign a quality RB. And that might be about it.

There's room to improve at every single position, I wouldn't do it all at once though. I'd like to get another centreback bedded in, and a right back. Back up goalie, striker. Those would be my four top targets, then I'd sell and replace after that.

Bit of a Myth, that. Although it IS getting harder to come by...

Vardy is going to be hot property in the summer. At least he would of been if he hadnt of just signed a new contract. Nailing his colours to the wall too getting his new 186k Bentley painted in the same Blue as our club colours.

Now you might say " yeah but if somebody offers him loads of money more he'd go." But NOW is that only time he could of signed  a mega bucks deal- his age, he's going to the Euros... but he STILL signed a new contract with us without listening to other offers... he could of handed in a transfer request, he  could of made it clear he had no intention of signing a new deal with us and there are definitely clubs out there who would of been in a position to pay him more than what we did... yet he STILL signed a new contract...

new contract doesnt mean he wont go.

club probably said, "sign a new contract its a win win. show the fans you love it here but also force possible buyers to pay a higher fee plus higher wages/signing on fee should you go elsewhere"

i should add he clearly loves it here but face facts, contracts are all about money, not commitment.

bring them two in and then sign a couple of up and comers who have proven it at the top level and we are good to go, let this team continue to grow just add the experience and youth.

Ibrahimovic and Terry would be a nice start if we qualify for the Champions League.

I wouldn't really want either of them (did I just type that?).  :D

Big earners and a slap in the face for our squad who got us this far.

I'd rather stick with our approach of signing the best young players we can that play for clubs that are stepping stones. Players who are amongst the best in their leagues like Dragovic (Dynamo Kiev), Musa (CSKA Moscow) or Embolo (Basle) but will want a move to the big European leagues at some point.

Posted

Terry can't get into a team that is in the lower half of the PL, he would be outrageously expensive, his best years are well behind him and at times this year he has looked totally finished, why would we want him?

Zlatan the same, he's 34 now and plays in a league that is over by, let's stick to being a farm for young hungry talented players, not a retirement home for has-beens looking for a pension.

I have to disagree, they both have a lot of top level experience and have been playing in Europe most there career.

Both would add to what we already have in the dressing room and it would be a coup in my eyes as it will help move the club forward, we would only have them for a season so money wouldn't really be an issue.

our players could take a lot from those two, ideal imo.

Then lets hope he signs for a club whos colours are the Same as Leicester City otherwise that Bentley going to look silly...

Zlatan bombing down the wing on a quick break? no?

he whole context of this thread appears to be on the assumption we make the champs league

no one is counting their chickens, it is however a conversation which will need to had. paraphrasing don claudio 'its ok for the fans to dream but the team must keep their feet on the ground'...which im sure they will be

we also as fans dont need to keep clinging to the past, expecting things to go wrong, the setup here and now is in place to get this SOO right...

Are you telling me if Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus decided they wanted a quick goal scorer up top that Vardy wouldn't leave Leicester to join them? Especially if they offered to double his salary?

Cmon...

Yes to Zlatan.

I was sat next to a bloke in the pub who slagged him off pre-match of the Eng vs Sweden game. Told him that I rated him and publicly laughed at me. Never felt so torn when that fourth goal went in. Rubbed it right in his face.

I would hope that no foxes fan would begrudge Vardy, Kante or Mahrez the chance of a spectacular move to a big European Club.

But the players themselves might think twice about keeping the bench warm in Spain,Italy or Germany.

Playing 90 minutes week-in week-out seems to count, being a part of a TEAM that BELIEVED in them.

When the time comes (I'm sure it will), GOOD LUCK to them.

we should start schlupp to run the opposition ragged (black man with pace)

when the opposition are tired bring on Gray (black man with pace and brain)

with the game in the bag, shut up shop by bringing on Wasilewski (big man with goatee)
